Agreed. Loot doesn't destroy the Smuggler profession, but destroys are slicing business. And makes our job as being a Smuggler that much harder.
What's going to destroy the Smuggler profession is us getting ignored again by the Devs or having a screwed up "revamp" for content like they did for our slicing.

We get it as a reward from smuggling missions if they ever get in game.

i think there shold be a loot / crafter aspect to smuggler, maybe some things are looted and some things are crafted. maybe give some love to our artisan friends and let them craft the tools we need, but have some uber tools lootable.


anything but a pure loot system for sliceing tools.


i'd be really hard to run a business of fixing things if everytime you needed a screwdriver you had to run the the DWB and kill 30+ mobs to get it. then kill a few 100 black sun to get a hammer.


i think the slicer will be all but gone from the game soon

29 year fan myself... I'm told that Star Wars was my first flick - At one of the last old school drive-ins, no less. I'm not even gonna get into Heros and icons and what not, whole different discussion, but I play a Smuggler for a reason.


There is just SO MUCH GAME POTENTIAL HERE! Its one of those things where a little bit of planning would have given us SO MUCH MORE TO DO. You guys remember content, right? Mission specific drops would be the perfect solution. Put in a mini theme park or two in an existing location (Lady Val's casino? Mos Eisley Cantina...? Hello? Am i getting through?) and give us a multi use schem for something sweet.


I'm not asking for the ability to smuggle people, but how hard can it be to make a new terminal or npc that can give us all the mercenary quests that laready exist? I would LOVE for underworld to be morelike investigation, maybe let us ASSIST some BH or Jedi, but thats a biggie, and takes time.


You could just humor us with an easy one for gods sake.

looting tools is bad enough but looting tools with a miniscual chance of getting the tool is just utterly rediculous, i cant begin to tell how many things ive killed in order to get these items and i have not recieved any. pub 19 hurt smugglers more than helped after all slicing is one of our key features

Why do Krayts get to craft slicing parts while the so-called "experts" at slicing can't even do it? I eagerly await the day when scouts have to loot an npc standing next to the gurk they just killed to harvest its meat.

Well i say no to needing loot to do slicing, maybe find a lood drop to impove a slice you can allready do yes. From time to time you here the devs talk about how the economy in SWG has gone out of control and yet they make more rare items for people to sell for as much as they can,well if some one wants a full slice and we have to loot that stuff for it how much we charging per slice 1mil 2 mil?

The point is it shouldn't be LOOT. We shouldn't have to kill Krayts in order to customize a weapon decently. The only thing smuggler's craft at all now is spice, of which, what 2 or 3 are actually useful? Not to mention those of us that have 1000's of pre-19 smuggler items that are now useless. If the implimentation of the new system had been better there may have been less complaining. But as is true to SOE form, yet again they push out a half-assed system.

Why does it have to be in space? I still have a problem with "looting" anything from destroying a space ship. You should be forced to "disable" and /inspect to get anything from space and then destroy. But that is beside the point.


The point is that at slicing 2 we should get a schematic to craft simple toolkits, and actually have experimentation so that the best kits would be made with the best resources and experimentation.


At Slicing 4 we should get the schematic for the Finely "CRAFTED" Toolset. If it's crafted why does it have to be a loot? Drop us a schema.


Make the upper tier parts (mandalorian interframe, delicate trigger, etc) as a mission drop for Jabba or Borvo or Valarian where the quest is open ended like the "duty missions" of space. Can even keep the drops off the high end mobs so long as there's an alternative for those people that want to actually PLAY a smuggler the way the type of character was developed in the SW universe and not make them a freaking hunter/mass murderer.

You obviously lack even a rudimentary 4th grade comprehension. You can ADD IN experimentation. The systems already in there, it wouldn't be too hard and woulda been a helluva lot easier then dealing with a NEW BROKEN system.


As far as mining, I don't see anywhere where I SAID mining involved destroying anything. I was making a blanket statement regarding the space looting.


Get a vocabulary higher than a 4th grader if you're going to call anyone a tard and learn some basic logic and comprehension skills.
