For my wedding ( 2 weeks ago ) I asked my wife if I could have the celebration song from the end of a new hope as we left the church. To my amazement she agreed and we actually got the sheet music. Eventually I was discouraged by my father who pointed out that there were some very religious people at the ceremony who wouldnt appreciate it.

Two weeks later I wish Id have ignored them. It wasnt their wedding!!

When I was 17 I was a dumped by a lovely girl, because we were watching Empire together and I kep reciting the words ( Im one of those people who has seen the Star Wars movies enough times to clearly define themselves as a sad **edit** - over 300 times, each movie ) She told me she was going to get annoyed if I carried on. I told her "Fine. You can go about your business" She did.

Now. Number 2. In all honest how many people here have sat down in a quiet room, closed their eyes, focused on a small object and then got frustrated when it didnt come any closer.

Liars! You have and you know it.#

On that note how many have you have waved your hands in front of someones face and tried a Jedi mind trick?

Yes you have. Admit it.

Every day I listen and I pay attention to all those things Star Warsy. It amaxzing how many references you can see or hear each day. From radio show DJs, to sketches on TV, and lines in songs. Star Wars is a part of our generation and it isnt going away.

OK this happened to me when i was in highschool before i left for paris island at a party.

MyMom wasagainst me going to the marine corp because my mom couldn't stand the thought of me not being there. My Grandfather however had been in the marines as did my father so it was kind of a family tradition and i guess my mom was also worried because my dad was kia during his service. Now with that little bit of background we can move on to the party.

So im at the party with my then girlfriend and buddys and the talking got back around to what i would be leaving behind and why i was going. Well i responded, i wish to be a marine like my father before me. my girlfriend who was actually bigger into star wars says to me thats no reason to go you should stay here with me. Cuddle thing... She then turns to me and states May the force be with you.

we all crack up laughing...

Later that night when it was just me and her.... Scroll down

oh you really think id tell you that story lol

Back in elementary school I had plastic lightsabers that I would always duel my friends with when they came over (who didn't?)

Now that I'm in high school, I never invite my friends over (rather just play SWG with them), it's rather cumbersome to cary lightsabers to school, and we're too lazy to find sticks. So we just mime out a duel pretending we have sabers just waving our hands back and forth. We get pretty into it with doges and blocks and whatnot. We've done it in the common room a few times, and the looks we get rolling around and slashing eachother with lightsabers that no one else can see are pretty amusing. <3 nerds

Anyone remember the blow-up light sabers from the late 70's? They were yellow with black handles and were not official Star Wars sabers, but the hours of fun and broken house lights, will never leave my mind. My fathers pool table in the basement was the Falcon and the basemant as a wholewasthe Death Star. What's funny is I had to be Luke becauseI was blond and the Italian kid from next door always got to be Han which I remeber really pissed me off.

That reminded me of when I was a kid, I used to try to play lightsaber with a flashlight (we all did). You eventually discover that it works better with smoke-

But the REAL discovery is: if you shine a flashlight directly at a wall the lit area looks EXACTLY like the death star.

Now that my wife is playing SWG, even the game has influenced her conversation and thinking.
EX: In texas the commercial warning we receive for wearing a seatbelt is "clickit or ticket". We hear this all the time on the radio. So my wife and I were driving away from the house and I hadn't put on my seatbelt yet.
She exclaimed, "click it or ticket! You want a cop to spawn?!?"

Thankfully, I've never yet said anything totally silly in public. But this little event did happen once... this is the evidence of my complete lack of shame, that nobody saw this, and yet I'm still willing to admit it...

I was up one day at an absolutely unholy hour. My baby had gotten it into his head that something like 5:30am was a good time to wake up that day. So I was up, and I fed him, and my brain was -not- awake at all... put him in his playpen thing and stepped outside for a quick smoke. And wouldn't you know it, the sun was just rising. All the clouds were pink, and orange, and purple, and the sky was a very pretty blue, and the air was that nice, slightly hazy, cool air you really only get around sunrise when you're near a large amount of water. And I sat down, and lit my smoke, and stared up at the sky, and thought...

"Huh. I should take a screenshot of that."

A friend of mine who plays SWG with me and myself were getting some food at taco bell and discussing PVP strategies. He slipped and called me my SWG name during the conversation.

Nope.

The only stories i got are of me and my friends taking sticks and fighting like they were lightsabers. Also, sometimes I would use a Jedi Mind Trick on my dad and my friends. The interesting thing is that it would work sometimes. Or that they would think I had lost it.
