Good thread, HOTDOG.
You meet alot of Sci-Fi fans in the military. Just one of those things.
During my last tour in Japan, one of my boys "Mua'dib" Dozier, and me would compete to see who could "get the jump" on one anotherin thejapanese clubs off of the base. We regularly crept up on one another to be the first to say "Oona Goonta, Solo".
Where we commenced tocrack up like idiots (enhanced by the beer) leaving the Japanese people present to laugh because we were laughing!
And please, if anyone (especially afine Japanese girl)ever asked me about my car in Japan! My automatic response?:
"You mean you've never heard of the Millenium Bluebird? (the Bluebird is/was the Japanese designation for what we call the Nissan Maxima in the U.S.A.)
...It's the car that made the Aomori Run in 25 minutes! I've outrun Japanese Police. Not the slow patrol cars mind you, I'm talking about the fast racing bike cops! She's fast enough for you, young lady!"
Those memories always bring a smile to my face.

This is kinda sad ,but last night instead of asking my wife if she wanted me to charge her cell phone I asked her if she wanted me to slice her cell phone

Ive said lol instead of laughing in RL conversations with out even thinking about it. Called a sloppy drunk at the club a n00b and been introduced to normal people as "this is my friend,*&%^ and he is a smuggler" which really messes with peoples heads.

I constantly have to restrain myself from using /cheer, lol and other chat abbreviations in work e-mails.

Hey! this should not be on the second page! I'ld have contributed by now but all my dumb stuff recintly (hence what I remember) was done concerning arabs... Not racist mind you but I have a full set of traditional berber clothing I got when I was in morocco... you can have a LOT of fun screwing with racist people if you don't mind the risk of getting your ass kicked

My brother and his fiance were sitting down planning the music for their wedding.. The topic of the procession song came up and my brother, with a profound look on his face, calmly says "I want the Imperial March".
In the unlikely event that I ever get married, I'm certainly going to remember that. (Wasn't that a remarkably self-reinforcing statement?

Dang the Imperial March you say? I would have let my hubby use that, maybe when we renew our vows we will.
