I also support the loot system over the obvious removal of the "breaking" system. While I liked the high risk that entailed, i think that moving components to loot drops is fair enough. It also brings it more in line with current crafting, where one needs to loot that rare schema or component.

If the Devs are now looking at us a full fledged combat profession, then it makes sense to move these things to a combat oriented reward.

I would hope that once a Smuggling system is developed and implemented that these rewards would either be replaced by Smuggling rewards or be included in Smuggling rewards as well asloot.

I for one, as a die-hardSmuggler am excited to haveSmuggler specific loot that means something. Now all we need is to get some SEA's that enhance our Slicing skills!

yeah! what he said!

You misinterpreted what I was saying. To me Plan A is the mini-game that was described in the "In-Concept"earier this year (and now suddenly missing from the forums). Plan A-1 is what we ended up with on TC...definitely NOT the mini-game.

The mini-game (as described by SOE) obviously did not make it to the game, butit was supposed to be the first part of the Smuggler Revamp...making it Plan A in my book.

Hope that clears it up a bit

I think this a terrible idea and I am now completely against these changes. This is ridiculous. I always thought that the strongest aspect of star wars galaxies and what set it apart and gave it an identity among cookiee-cutter mmo's was the player crafting system and that almost everything in the game was player made.

Why is this game moving towards loot more and more? If I wanted to play a game that required farming spawns, I'd play EQ2.

Please, give the schematics for these components to weapon and armorsmiths. I'm begging you. I'm not a crafter, but I believe that the devs should be supporting the player crafters instead of shutting them out of everything (which you have been doing A LOT).

I was so looking forward to the slicing changes. Now it's making me sick to my stomach. Please quit turning this into a loot game. That crap is not fun, not immersive, makes it harder to RP, and I believe it's extremely damaging to the health of this game.

NO LOOT COMPONENTS PLEASE!!!!

This system provides ZERO risk to the person holding the contrband.

This system simply makes it more difficult for smugglers to slice - must go farm something first.

The only risk is on the smuggler who is out farming (and yes, GM - we will have to do this - I have a Weaponsmith alt trust me ... I can rarely play him any more out of frustration of the constant "do you have any uber drop-x pistols? No? email me when you do".).

This system provides ZERO risk to the person holding the contrband.

And, contraband scans don't mean anything ...

Imperial = pass

Rebel=shot on sight regarless of scan

This system provides ZERO risk to the person holding the contrband.

Really ... REALLY bad plan-B.

You must hang out with the wrong groups. The other option would be to form the group yourself so you can set the loot option yourself.

For the contraband scans, I think if anyone fails (regardless of faction), they should be shipped off to the imperial prison on dathomir, where all the illegal items in their inventory are being held onto by the guards, as well as their vehicles. They would have few options: a) attempt to kill gaurds, reclaim their items and escape, or b) use their non-illegal items to do somesort of quest (quell a prison riot or something), and then they could leave.

Oh, and you should have to wear an orange jumpsuit and be roommates with a convicted wookie sex offender, whos frisky and lonely.

Personnaly I exspected much more from you GM and this disapoints me greatly. What happened to the amazing plans and ideas you had told us about? What happened to all that work you must have done to it? What happened to the amazing Mini-Game that would have made me just start sending you guys money in the mail? What happened to all this stuff? Thrown out so you guys could rush stuff out faster?

I've played this gave for 2 years on Sunday and the only thing that's kept me going is the knowledge that GM was working on our revamp and since he was spending so much time on it it was going to rock! But now we don't get a "revamp" we get a small trickle out of half formed ideas and concpets that will probably be so buggy as not to work anyway. I've given this game 360 dollars of my money and this whole feasco just depresses me to no end and no amount of beer or pie will bring me out of this low.

The whole idea of switching to a loot system is bad. I'm a day one, single player (except for a novice on TC), CL 55, casual player. I'm never flush with money, and I play for 2 to 3 hours per week MAX.

There is a thrill to wandering thru town and getting flagged down by another player who is interested in getting his weapon "serviced". But that is only possible for the casual player if I can wander around with the items needed on-hand.

The breakage system was a perfect risk for reward ballance, it just needed a little tweaking, slow down the breaks, and instead of un-usability, either remove or possibly reverse the slice. That way you'r not left weponless (or pantsless in the case of armor leggings, hard to explain in a roleplay situation!). After a breakage, take it to a Smuggler for a re-tune.

Loot economy is a really bad thing.

I would prefer crafting tools where resource stats mattered and you need to Experiment but I like this system with loot drops alot better then just "enchanting" items. Much more Star Wars feel when you need to use tech items or tools rather then things just happening magiacally.
