Thread: Smuggler delay

But seriously, these continuous delays with little hope and no details in sight are the exact reasons why I stopped smuggling.
What exactly were you smuggling? Oh, you mean you stopped smuggling before we were given the right to smuggle. I see now.

Since Dirty Fighting is a Ground-Based Combat Tree, will we at LEAST get THAT fixed in the Combat Revamp?
I'm just glad I dropped smuggler a couple of minths ago now.
So you say that the revamp will be after JTL. My guess, as others have stated, is that it will be a considerable time after JTL. You will obviously have a whole host of game breaking bugs to fix at that point, not just broken professions that sort of work.
Or maybe I am mistaken and you have infact employed a whole host of new employees who are working on JTL and so there will still be the same staff resources to work on the ground based game.
I doubt now I will ever go back to smuggler which had been my original intention. I am still not quite sure why I chose BH to try for something to do. I guess I hadn't quite figured on the combat balance being quite so far away. Even having gone through the investigation pain I am almost at the stage of dropping it to get rifleman and be effective.
I truely hope that the devs see the people who were involved way back in beta, sorry I can't remember the name of the first guy and AO (who's excellent posts I remember from the beta boards) and take on board their comments.

Folks,
I totally understand how angry you are right now. / I hope you can understand my doubts to this statement / I can't tell you how difficult it is for us to have to move your revamp back / It should be getting easy by now / ... but I really do feel that it is the right thing to do for all parties concerned, and for the overall state of the game. The large systems we are revamping really need our full attention. We have been absolutely killing our designers, and they need to have a life. This means not crunching them 7 days a week for months at a time.
We did not want to rush out some crappy revamp for you in order to fulfil our commitment. We also strongly feel that some aspect of smuggling should be done in space, so it makes sense to do it after JTL. I am so sorry, but I think it is better to be straight up with you guys than to mislead you about what we can do, or put out something that we, and you, are not going to be proud of.
We are at the FF right now, so TH and I are going to be fairly unavailable at this time, but we will spend some time with you next week.
Again, my apologies, but we want to make your profession all it can be. We can't do that right now, but we will.
thx,
- Gary
I am absolutely livid about this. I understand that it is not able to be done at this time and I can accept that, but I would likefour things in return for my acceptance.
1. An admission as to the cause (mis-management, over-promising, poor planning, whatever the reasons and be honest and admit your mistakes. Admitting when you screw up ... get you a lot.
2. I token 'fix' ... fix our skill tree and maybe a couple of minor things like fixing panic shot (should be easy) and feign death (probably more difficult).
3. IMPROVE COMMUNICATION ... last time we were told communication was going to be improved ... it was not.
4. STOP ASKING FOR THE SAME INFORMATION OVER AGAIN.

We've heard all this before. Mainly every week in TH's "19 different ways to say 'We're working on it'."
We did not want to rush out some crappy revamp for you in order to fulfil our commitment.
We heard you the first time a few weeks ago when we had to put a stop to that crappy revamp you had planned for P-9.
We also strongly feel that some aspect of smuggling should be done in space, so it makes sense to do it after JTL.
So...like others have already stated in another thread...I have to buy a NEW game to make the OLD game that I already have work? I've got a news flash for you...I'm playing Lineage 2 now with the first expansion coming any day now...and it's a FREE expansion.
Let me ask this...hypothetically speaking, after JtL, could I still be a Smuggler and maintain a fulfilling gaming experience WITHOUT the expansion? It will be key to address this question with the revamp.
I am so sorry, but I think it is better to be straight up with you guys than to mislead you about what we can do, or put out something that we, and you, are not going to be proud of.
Quite frankly...if you consider this to be "straight up" and not "misleading", I think you've been reading an entirely different set of forums. Until there's even a minute amount of disclosure from YOUR side of things, you're nowhere close to being "straight up" with us. Sure...we have a great correspondent, but you guys hamstring him and tell him "Ok...here's the issue...but you can't say anything to your players about it." And then he has to deal with trying to defuse a situation without telling the community all of the relevant information. The current spice downer issue is a perfect example of this.
We are at the FF right now, so TH and I are going to be fairly unavailable at this time, but we will spend some time with you next week.
I'll believe it when I see it. And I'm not talking about one or two posts...I'm talking about actual 2-way dialogue. It's long past time for us to get some answers.
Again, my apologies, but we want to make your profession all it can be. We can't do that right now, but we will.

It does not matter what professin you have, this type of professionalism will be experienced by every profession sooner or later, its just that the Devs are too busy screwing over the smugglers.
When the devs finally give you guys a revamp, can you point them in the direction of the Ranger, they have not given us a broken promise for us to get angry at since August. Our ranger board is located here.

You have screwed up for the last time. No amount of apology can EVER fix this. EVER.
You pussyfoot around with some confounded Jedi system that you love so much but can NEVER get going right. You lie to us OVER AND OVER and you expect to dump this on us? This is ridiculous. What's worse is, over the times you get our hopes up I think the Publish 11 pushback was the best. You actually admit your fault and be realistic with us. We get a crack team on it for 3 weeks to do PRECISELY what you ask and it's all for NOTHING.
How can you people honestly say you are earning a paycheck? If you counted this job as a reference I wouldn't hire you at friggin Arby's for ignorance.
Now...I dare you to come back in and face the flames like someone that cares. That's right, if you truely care about this profession you will stop this bullflop and put the fire out and contain it the best of your ability. I can't believe this crap. And so help me, if you DARE try to piss this fire out...
I have some nice pull with a LOT (around 45) of Tarquinas smugglers...and they'll hear about this...I will do my best to convince each one how **edit**ty and futile this is and for us to quit.
Suck a fat egg, SOE...you have truely **edit**ed up.

Let's see you do a better job. They had to make hard decisions. Would you rather get a system now that is less then desirable or one at a later date that is complete and fun?
Quite frankly they do NOT have to even come to the forums. I have seen some games shut down their forums cause the gaming community ( quite a few people, not all ) are complete, utter morons. From your post I would throw you into that catagory.
