There's a theory of communication that states the best way to transmit information from one individual to another is to have the receiving end repeat what they have heard back to the sender. In this manner, confusion between the parties is greatly reduced. Perhaps before asking us to repeat our issues for the Nth time, it would be more beneficial to everyone if Tiggs told us what she "knows" based on these sticky threads and excel sheets. If we knew her impressions of what she has heard, we won't need to repeat ourselves, and would likely be able to straighten out any discrepencies between her impressions of what we have been saying, and our intentions of what we have previously meant. But hey, I suppose that would take a lot more work on SOEs part than "tell me again what you don't like."

You know, that's not a bad idea at all. Especially seeing how some "correspondent issues" changes in the past have been totally off the mark of what the community actually wanted…hm.

Hey Tiggs, long time no see.

Since dreven stated that this seems to be a no holds barred communication, I am not going to hold back anything, for once.

The way we are being treated is evil. Not just wrong, but pure down and rotten EVIL. We've been deliberately lied to. Its not an accident, its not one "unfortunate event after another"; the people who have been before you have outright blatantly lied to us about the things that are important to this profession and this community. We have yet to see one simple little fix for the things we've noted. The ONLY time we get attention is when they decide to break something else within our skillset, which sets us into a frenzy. The fact that it happens almost every patch now is sickening.

Frankly, for you to post that tripe about "Reposted from another thread: I am well aware of the sticky issues threads and the excel sheets that ThunderHeart has. The reason(s) I am doing this is 1. to get to know you, 2. get a better feel about your posting styles and 3. Gather fresh feedback from the community. If we followed that maxim, then you may as well shut this community down as we would NEVER POST AGAIN. We've said it all before. No one has listened. And although you may be well aware of the information that thunderheart has compiled, it doesn't mean that you have read one damn word of it.

From my personal point of view, I doubt you can be trusted to to right by this profession. I was all for giving you a chance until your attitude became clear. You state you're a power gamer; if that's the case, do you have the perspective to be able to see the issues in front of a casual player like me? And since you're a power gamer, I seriously doubt you would gravitate to the smuggler profession in the first place. I defy you to create a smuggler on my server. I defy you. Come on, PLAY our profession, work your way up through the boxes. Maybe then you will see exactly what we're talking about, instead of relying on those stupid spreadsheets put together by a person who all but ignored and lied to the people of this profession in the first place.

In closing, yes, we are bitter and cynical. We are only this way after 15 months of lies, lies, and more lies. You will not come into this forum and spew your muse dust and sweetness and light, and make us all happy. Do something to fix this broken profession, on the other hand, and you will have a community willing to go to hell and back to help you in whatever task you set down.

So what is it going to be? More lies? Or are you going to help us and treat us fairly, like paying customers deserve?

"1. Don't lie (we are sick of hearing you are next to recieve love only to have spice sales destroyed by doc buffs and an unscheduled chef revamp)."

I really have to agree on this one, I'm just about to become a master smuggler (have to finish 2 more boxes of underworld) and I don't even use the muon gold I make.

Why?

Because which would I rather use? muon which works for 10 minutes and has a 2 minute downer, or brandy which works for a min of 45 minutes, and I can use more than one at a time.

Ya know, they havea food and drink bar, maybe they should have a spice bar so people can use more than one spice at a time, and I see people posting about a "tolerance" to spice. Wel, if anything, Smugglers should bethe only ones who can use spice without a downer, but maybe we could make a "counter-spice" for others, to get rid of their downer.

Nice post, Shrendyc, but I hope you realize that it is likely for naught. Based on her first impression (you know, the lasting one), all she wants to hear about are how cool her dragon .gif file is and how everybody wants to flirt with her. Now, if you posted something like, "Ooh, Tiggs hasn't been to the Smuggler Forum, La La La" she might drop in, but not with any substance.

Haha, exactly.

I noticed this too.

I love going on Dev Tracker and seeing her responding to silly messages like "Hey Tiggs, come say hi to (insert server name here)!" Are you frickin kidding me?

Very well said.

Will it do any good? Not bloody likely. Maybe we should chance the name of this thread to Tiggs: Come talk to the Smuggler Profession We Love Your Dragon!!!

To be honest I did like the dragon. And I am trying to give her the benefit of the doubt till she really gets into her position firmly. But it really is not easy.

Edit: Revised to be more constructive and dare I say.. optimistic:

Tiggs,
You may have gathered by nowthat through no fault of your own, SOE's relationship with the Smuggler community has become poisoned. So badly in fact, that (in this humble rodian's opinion) nothing you can say will make any difference. If you read through the History thread in Caylin's post, you'll see why we've lost faith in your team and why we're not likely to give you half a chance to pacify us. We're done with talking.

On the other hand, if you read back through what we've submitted in the past (repeatedly), you'd see that we've been a vast source of input. Time and again, we've posted thoughtful, and at times brilliant, ideas on how to correct the smuggling profession. We've had dialog with TH and Greenmarine on how we might be fixed and balanced with other profs and in the GCW. Furthermore, we also have an outstanding Correspondent with which you can rely on to get immediate status and recommendations on our prof. Tap Caylin, he's listening, and eager to help.

Aside from that, we're beyond talking. We went through the chit-chat thing for 12 months, and we're all pretty tired of it. The only thing we're interested in now is *action.* We've already given you and your teamthe input thatyou need. We don't want to hear you make empty promises, and we're not interested in repeating ourselves again. Go away, READ what we've had to say, and don't come back until you have something for us.

Thanks!

Has anyone else noticed that on just about every otherboard that had a "Hey Tiggs! Here's our info" thread that Tiggs has cheerfully replied, atleast letting them know that she is alive and visiting the boards. I mean even professions she hasn't posed her Tell me about yourselves question she has posted in. Makes a cynical smuggler wonder, when will she say hi to us here, in this thread?

She won't touch this thread because it's not "constructive". Funny how when we call them liars, they never want to talk to us.
