A lot of posts have been disappearing. I think we're getting more mod attention than normal lately.

As for the flame fest, there's a whole lot of the pot calling the kettle going on around here, myself included. I'm sure it will continue, and I've got no problem with that. I'll just point something out before it goes any further... It wasn't really a problem here, with a couple exceptions, until recently.

As a rule, I really don't report anyone posting unless it's beyond anything reasonable.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Heck no! btw, FYI, from what I've seen of it (in game) it looks very nice (and in no way is that affected for the, "I want my YT-2400!!" mentality I may or may not be in).

Ah, ok. And yes, come November, those remaining (who care about Smuggling) will be pissed, not at the developers, but at the Producers/Powers That Be -- AKA Those Who Make the Decisions .

Good to hear that the expansion looks nice. I am on the fence about purchasing it. The last one was SO buggy and I really disliked the artifical feeling of the world. Movement restricted to paths, graphics seem of lesser quality on Kashyyyk (try looking up at the the canopy), borked quests... so, I am not feeling too inclined to buy this next expansion (which, featuring a glowy Obi and a lava lamp crystal as well as a planet from one of the new "prequel" movies, is even less inviting -- to me, anyway).

Yeah, that YT-2400... heh. =)

i understand the sentiments of those that are fed up.. and yeah i'm a JTL smuggler so i dig your frustration but there are some positive things to be gleaned from the revamps done so far. The level of communication with the rangers has been great! I've been following their boards on the matter and they are really taking feedback and changing course as required by the community. And they sre taking their sweet-ass time implementing it. While this may not be great for the impatient among us think what might have been had they done the same with our half assed new slicing.

At the risk of repeating a half dozen other dudes, the smugglers who're in it for the smuggling don't really care if they got nice specials in the CU. That's cool and all, but it really wasn't what they're after. They're still not smugglers in any meaningful sense of the word.

So, right. Any arguments about X having gotten something while Y hasn't gotten anything aren't really relevant to a large portion of this community. You could argue the legitimacy of that position, but when all a great many smugglers want to do is smuggle, pointing out their improved combat role doesn't prove anything. That's not what they're here for.

Technically they are discriminating against you. You should be Windu purple, but instead you're sort of a beigey orange color. my guess is you had a very icky star rating.

Actualy, I haven't really broken any of the FUBAR rules, I haven't asked for Smuggler to come first. And secondly, I'm just throwing his crap back in his face... As I will commence now:

I am just novice commando, so since that's all I really care about, I hope that they put all commando weapons at novice. I don't mean that I should get high damaging weapons at novice, I just want all the pretty effects, and AOE, because that's all I care about. Commandos got cool looking special effects on the weapons, and that's all I care about, so I think that's a good enough revamp. And once again, having high damage weapons at novice would be bad, so when they move all of them to novice, they should nuke all the damage to like CDEF level, because I just care about the AOE.

There... That is roughly an imatation of what you're doing.

That's why he said read the history thread. Many of the newer people are just regurgitating things said in the past. Everything being discussed has been discussed before. Everything happening now has happened before. If you don't believe him or me, then read the history thread. You'll see what we're railing against. You'll see he's not bashing you, he's bashing the mindset. He's trying to show you what you're really pinning your hopes on. He's trying to be real.

You say you want alternatives proposed, well they have been. Read the history thread. You say you share his frustration, but you really don't understand where he's coming from, but you would if you read the history thread.

OK, so I'm pretty sure you're getting the theme of my post at this point. Read the history thread. It's the one thing that can truly explain to newer Smugglers where the old grumpy ones are coming from. If you don't read it, give it 6 months and I bet you'll understand where he's coming from from first hand experience because we've seen NOTHING to show that the treatment of this profession has changed or will change any time soon.
