wonders what will happen with weapons that have been sliced already.... will they be fully customized already?

Was wondering that myself.

Hey Tiggs... are we still going to have to use the old tools, or did y'all go ahead with the plan to reduce it down to one slicing kit for slicing?

Probably retain their current stats with no risk of breakage and cannot be sliced again. That's my guess anyway.

Very cool!
Still, tons of questions out there until we see this in action.. I'll start...
1) So is there still a "mini-game" involved with performing the slice? Or do you just simply click "slice this stat" and BOOM it's done?
2) Smuggler tools - knives, clamps, AUKs, WUKs.... still needed? Or junk?
3) Pre-publish sliced items... Stuck like that forever, or will they be awarded some percentage of "customization points" remaining to play around with?
4) What determines how many customization points a weapon has? It says "up to 100 points", which leads me to believe this number varies from weapon to weapon.
5) How will ADKs effect sliced weapons under this system? Will they still "break" and need to be repaired?
6) Please, please, PLEASE tell me that you took into account the "hard cap" numbers that exist on weapons and armor so we won't get any negative or useless slices any more.
That's all for now.
Send the Dev who coded this all our love!

Umm. Not to sound all negative or anything but is it really the best idea to just have a weapon break out of nowhere and then being forced to look for a smuggler to fix it?
I mean if somebody only uses one weapon and that weapon breaks during combat they are basically screwed. And then they have to stop hunting and go find a smuggler.
What if instead the weapon jams for a few minutes or an attack fails to go off instead?
Risk and Reward. You want the reward of getting a nicely sliced weapon done to your specifications (your pick'o'slice)...you need to take a risk.
No one ever said slicing and tuning weapons was "safe".
no no no. I'm planning on using a 100% customized weapon at all times and use my /lastditch repeating macro....

Damn, no way I can grind out a Smuggler toon on TC in time to test this stuff out.
Talk about a bummer.

I won't believe it until its live and the servers are up and running stable and didn't spit the patch back in the engineer's face in an ignominious last effort to keep me down.

Right now TC-Prime is what is getting the patch... that's the longer term server where people grind out professions and run factories and harvesters and such.
Standard Operating procedure has been to take that offline and replace it with a live mirror 'sometime soon' and then run with that till the patch goes live.
why they still run tc-prime in between publishes is soemthing i'm stil trying to figure out.
