Firefly was my favorite scifi TV show ever. I really hope the show gets uncancelated if the movie does well. Maybe scifi channel will buy the rights since they will be showing the old episodes over the summer.
Firefly was optioned for a 3-picture deal. So if the first one does well, it may expand into a trilogy. No word on another show, though.

Maybe if the show gets good ratings they will produce more episodes. So everyone encourage your friends, family, and complete strangers to watch the run on SciFi.
wen r tehy? r tehre jedii?
seriously though, don't make me hit up tv guide DOT com
As for Equilibrium...nope, not the only one, I thought that movie sucked.
So, I broke down and hit Amazon today...my copy of Firefly will arrive tomorrow...along with a few other little tidbits I found (including the soundtrack for "Once More With Feeling"...Buffy, Season 6, Episode 5).
So, I'll be wrapped up watching Firefly this weekend...

Hate the blue font, loveHard to read against the black default background... But after getting cajoled by you into seeing Firefly, I can see where you're coming from, and definitely think that this was the kind of thing that had me wanting to go smuggler...since finding out it didn't exist in Star Wars, my dreams of smuggling were dashed, a few pistol tricks and making spice (smuggling spice I can understand, but it still seems like *making* the stuff doesn't fit the class, to me) weren't what I saw as a Han Solo type. Who knows maybe we'll see this kind of thing in another game, there's still the Star Trek MMO when it comes out, surely not everybody in that game is Star Fleet or Klingons...well, I can hope. I still might see my dream of becoming a smooth-talkin' hard-hittin' pistol-packin' mama come true. Truthfully I've had less hope for this game lately anyway, perhaps I do need to move on for awhile, come back to it later.

Really? I find the blue easier to read... but I digress, you can always just select all the text for super-definition. (And the all white chunk of text was brutal on the eyes, at least for me)
Anyway, glad you got to see Firefly, I think we've got a dozen or so people watching it in this thread now. If only it could be like that... Maybe someday. I can't see Smugglers working right in a Star Trek mmo. I'm afraid Star Trek is the antithesis of what makes Firefly work and what used to be so great about Star Wars. Put simply, the later two universes felt lived in. Paint wore off of even the hero's ships, equipment looks greasy and junky, the coolest imaginable stuff can be found rusting in the desert sun. Star Trek is all about shiny new ships and wall to wall carpeting. Even the pirates have clean vessels; klingons have the occassional red light. Its too high a tech level to get dirty. The more recent Star Wars films have gone this direction too; CGI has allowed them to make huge glimmering space ships more easily than worn and pieced together ones.
While a bad paint job on a ship hardly dictates if smuggling is fun or not, it is a sign of the world that smuggler comes from. The characters in Firefly wouldn't be as interesting in a ship like the Defiant from Deep Space 9.
But, that's me rambling. I guess both of us are gonna hang up our hats and ride into the sunset soon. Eh, we'll keep busy somehow

Ahaha...that Buffy ep was painful AND hilarious to watch. Whedon is damn good writer. I was really ticked when the WB took Angel off the air too soon.
I too am surprised that so many dislike Buffy. The best character in that series was Spike hands down.
You know the DVD set has a singalong kareoke 'feature'

This + alcohol = hilarious.
If Whedon ever had any influence on anything to do with star wars this would only be a good thing.
You know what I hate about Star Trek? It is too clean. It is like Mr Propper works 24/7 there.
Star Wars is not shiney, it has that charming scruffy looking thing. That makes it so much more "real"

My eyes seem to need more contrast...heck, my usual muck settings are white on black background, perhaps it's my astigmatism. Anyway...if the MMO includes *more* than just Star Fleet, I could see smugglers, ditto Klingons, ditto Ferengi, a whole bunch of things in there. Being a good soldier in Star Fleet would wear on me pretty quick, you know me, the gal who when everybody is going ranged (heck, BH) is still running around in camo fatigues (when I don't decide to be sexy in my hotpants and sports wrap) swinging a powerhammer. A conformist, me? Uh-uh. Some captain starts ordering me around I may wind up telling him what porthole he can shove those orders through. I love Star Trek, but a 'red shirt' I'm not sure I could be.
Yep, might be time to at least give SWG a rest awhile, the last few times I've been on there I haven't done much. If they ever put in the smuggler revamp, I might make a character somewhere to try that out, Han Solo is still my favorite Star Wars character, you're not the only one with a smuggler kick. Wrenching this back on track, if the smugglers were like Firefly, I could see myself there...like you say, probably as Zoe

I haven't done Kareoke, but it'd probably be fun to try and get my friends to sing along.
The moment at the end of the Serenity trailer where Mal takes advantage of the unarmed guy is a beautiful thing to behold. That attitude and great writing are what makes Joss' stuff so cool.
Buffy and Angel were other shows completely knackered by their networks, true TV gems that are binned for the faceless parade of 'celebrity' trash and 'reality' vomit spewed onto the screen. Probably why 99% of the time when my TV is switched on, it's playing a DVD.
And if we're talking Buffy, then we gotta mention Faith. Mmmmm, Eliza.

IMO, Hands down Inara wins on beauty. But, watch the ep title Out of Gas, Kaylee has the innocent, not so innocent, aspect going for her."....I noticed it when I was down there on my back....."
Nah Jewel Staite/Kaylee is much more attractive
