Why do you guys want to search out the best resources, I just don't get it. I want to play, not spend all my time trying to make 99% tools so people will come to me for slices. It's stupid to have experimentation in slicing, it needs to stay random.Period.
If you want to change it, raise the minimum slice for a Master Smuggler to 20%, that seems to be everyones cut off on what a "good" slice is... Or allow a Master Smuggler to choose what is sliced, maybe both, but experimentation WILL ruin the profession and smuggler community.

Definately B
Im already in the habit of using 98+% expermineted kits, wuks, and clmaps. I think if one takes the time to find good resources it should pay off.

Guess someone hasn't read the post where Caylin puts to rest the effectiveness of tools rumor.
Let this post die, it isn't going to help with anything.

A
i thought B, but a smugglers ability to slice should depend on there level of mastery, not the size of their laser knife.

Oh no I read it and had a great laugh. I just pride myself on personally using quality materials. Plus a little salt over the shoulder cant hurt eh?

My vote would be for A but increase the base percentage of what a Master Smuggler can get versus just a Slicer. I mean to me it does not make sense for a Master Smuggler to get very similar slices to someone with Slicing IV. It totally does not make it worth even being a Master Smuggler. People at Slicing IV should get 15% base and Master Smugglers should get 25% base. I mean come on there should be factors in or incentives to make it worth being a Master Smuggler shouldn't there? Just my two cents.

I vote "A."
Why would you want to spend valuable skill points to get artisan for surveying or worse yet, PAY someone to find the resources for you? We're smugglers, we should be able to get away with usin' the cheap stuff.

A!
The last thing I want to do is to have to worry about resources, quality of resources, CPU and all that BS. I want to worry about smuggling items, not my resource quantity/shortage/quality. The second I have to worry about that stuff is the second I drop the Smuggler tree. It will also avoid confusion and the need for people to look for Smugglers with HQ tools... If you think about all the problems it would cause you'd see that it's not worth it.
Just eliminate the chances of say 22% or less slices for Master Smuggler, that's it. Maybechange FAN's to allow a 75% chance of getting a selected slice type or something instead of the waste of space they are now...

B.
I think not only do we need to have experimentation, but I think the entire slicing UI needs to be rethought.

*Grabs a blaster and shoots the thread over and over*
Just die!!! No experimentation on slicing!!!!
I'm starting to wonder how many of these people are actually smugglers, and not artisans in disguise...

B!
As long as slicing crafting experimentation points are from the slicing tree not artisan?
