A.
The randomness of it all is absolutely hilarious, and I don't want to give them a chance to mess something else up irreversibly... *sigh*

a tool is a tool, you cant have a hammer that works better than another hammer
as an ex-master smuggler and working back to master again
I vote for A

Neither!
Slicing should be skilled base!!! The more experienced the slicer the better the slice!!! the materials of the weapon/armour which is already determined by the weaponsmith/armoursmith determines the weapons ability. All a slicer is doing is modifying the weapon. We do not add materials to the weapon/armour but modify the component(s) of it. If I am a master smuggler with good experience and I have a well made weapon/armour upgrade kit (again made by the coresponding craftsmen) then I get a good slice. the experience should come from the people using weapons I slice!

B -
There are ratings on tools. Example - Weapon Crafting tool of TE 15 is a 100% experimented tool. You can check the WUK's and AUK's rating by checking this number. If its in the negative, its below 50% quality. The number runs from -15 to +15. This can easily be added/checked on the smuggler's WUK's and AUK's. The Devs SAY the rating matters in all the crafting tools - so why not have it matter in the WUK's and AUK's and everything else. So to everyone worried that they will get shortchanged by a crafter, there is your answer. Plus, why would a smuggler not want to be able to offer/guarantee a slice %? It boggles the mind that you as a profession would not want to be able to offer this service like all the other services are able to do. Imagine a world where the weapons on the server were randomly made - no experimentation, or where armorsmiths just hope that their final product is what they want it to be. How about architects - thousands of resources to randomly get a good product. I know smugglers are not a crafting profession, but they should definitely be able to show quality in their work and not pray for a good slice. The gating factor would be failures just like other professions have. Doctors are not a pure crafting profession either - but they must make good buffs for you to pay good money for them, what if buffs were random...I shudder to think of that day. "Ok, you got a 3 hour health buff, a 1 hour action buff, a 2 hour substat buff - enjoy your hunt!" AUK's and WUK's are cheap to make and easy to make well. I for one would be happy to sell tons of them at my current rates forever on my server if I could get a guaranteed slice. 2k per crate of 25

1 year player, very first forum post
(will it hurt, I'm a virgin?
)
Gotta be A for me
very new slicer, just got to 4 3 days ago, only 3 paying slices so far
but I love this profession, it's fun, even the grind wasn't too bad other
than draining the cred account.

It has been about equal half and half since the beginning.
Stop posting to this, regardless it will NEVER have any effect on their decisions.

Quite possibly it doesn't matter. I doubt many devs read every forum
post anyhow, isn't that party why there are Correspondents?
But maybe even one will look at the thead subject and go "hmmm".
Even that would be an imporvement probably, even if they disregard it
all as they usually do.
