I think one of the reasons slicing xp isnt taken into consideration is because of the ease at which it can be grinded, Think about it, After you can slice weapons whats going to stop people from making crates of CDEF's and sit there slicing them all day long for FS xp.

The only way to compensate for that would be to have the FS XP convertion ratio something like 1:20.

I know many are going to say Combat xp can be grinded just as easier but my response would be no, not really as the most viable would be "combat xp" which has a 1:1 ratio and many will tell you thats a pain to gain xp in and not only that it carries a risk involved.

Crafting xp is easily grind-able to but not many proffesions can 250 xp for 1 item, the only thing that gets more then that is the architect which has a very high ratio.

Anyway this is all just food for thought......

The Devs seem to want to kills this game. I want to know what the hell they are passing around in Austin, and can I have some. Do they really understand what the Force Augmentation is going to do to the game?

If this goes through I am seriously going to think about quitting. Shame is I just got back into it after being out to sea for a long time, then hitting weather forecasting school. The Whole concept reeks of making money at the expense of sound game design. They are catering to the whiners that want force powers, when they should be fixing combat and the GCW. There weren't 50 Jedi running around Coronet during this time period.

GAH this isn't Star Wars it's KOTR.

PS I had a hell of a time keeping this civil

Tend to disagree, in the movies the pre-Jedi characters were force sensitive. that is why they were selected to become JEDI. In addition, we will no longer "open" a force sensitive slot. We will just open another character slot. The main will be able to become a Jedi. The second will also need to do the quests in order to gain FS.

Meh I hate all this new Force Sensitivity crap. It gives an unfair advantage to those who can free up the skill points to get it as opposed to those who cannot.

Once again. Jedi and Force Related things are going to be the ruin of this game.

You know, this whole thing will be to the benefit of temploiters. There can be no goodout of this system, I am just wondering how they can implement something like this before the Combat Rebalance. Actually I have to wonder how SOE canadd anything before the Combat Rebalance. I mean the system is broken and they just keep adding in more and morefecal Matter of a highlycaustic nature. The whole system stinks and everyone knows it.

So what the hell is the point?

Why can't they fix whats broken before attempting to implement a major overhaul to the system? One that is aurguably one of the more important pieces of content to date. I will tell you SOE has no Idea how to fix this game and they are going to milk this dry and abandon it in the near future. Just wait and see,JTL will be followed by a year or so ofshiny baublesto keep your attention then they will announce...

...Galaxies 2, promising to fix what iswrong with the current game. They will justify abandoning the old by saying they just need to start over again with a clean slate that the coding needs to be redone from the ground up. Then and only then will there be a Combat Rebalance and GCW revamp.

Oh and smugglers don't expect anything out of this it's just a way to get you to pony up 50 dollarsmore for a new engine that's still going to be broke. Slicing will still be 50-50, spice will be useless and undworld a joke.

And like a sucker I will be waiting withmoney in hand for the release, just like the rest of you. We willbe hoping forfillet mignon and insteadwe are going toget a tray full of coldSpam.

Oh well one can only rant for so long.

Is there already any info on how this FS-Skills will affect or Smuggler-Skills?

I mean will you soon have to be a FS-Smuggler to even be asked to slice something?

Will my PvP-Rating finally drop below 500 'cause with FS even a Master Tailor, Master Dancer can beat me up?

It's not IF I can do it, it's HOW MUCH you're willing to pay.

I disagree. Whole-heartedly, I disagree. Any weapon xp is way easier to get then slicing xp and so it combat xp. Not to mention, we can hold a lot more weapon and combat xp (9x more an 3x more respectively) then we can slicing xp. The only thing I would surmise as being easier to grind for fs xp conversion then weapon and combat would be general crafting xp and only if you have the grinding macro running and an extreme amount of resources for grinding.

I for one, really want to see slicing xp on that conversion list.

And another thought, if you log on tc2 to test the changes, be prepared to get no farther then being able to enter the village. All but the crafting quests were broken when I was there earlier.

Just spent my evening on TC2 converting my Bria Character into the same template as my Starsider Smuggler, and running the FS quests.

After spending some time with the conversion system, and reviewing my excess XP on live, I have come to realize that slicing is my 3rd highest remainder, possible lowest capping XP remainder. Admitedly, we smugglers aren't currently all that social, but at least 25% of what we do involves direct and regularinteraction with the player base. Slicing requires networking, "bedside manners" while slicing, and no less social interaction than that offered by, say, MD's with their buff lines... Medical XP currently transfers to FS Sences at 5 to 1. Not to mention that we gained mention for inclusion in the "social" professions adventure set in the Hutt Casino, which hasn't appeared as of yet.

I say we have a fairly strong case for obtaining access to the Sences tree, and hope that we are heard before the weekend is up so we can properly test the Slicing to FS conversion!I hope to see us converting Slicing XP at 5 to 1 maximum as slicing hasa fairlyrly high rate of XP gain, though 3 or 4 to 1 would be prefered with such a low cap(100k).

Looks like it happened in the mid day hot-fix? I havent had time to look since then, but Three Cheers for us! Someone put this fiasco, and the date of its hotfix resolution on the "History of Smugglers" thread. Nice to see we get a victory now and then.

Fyi, all the conversion ratios were upped. Weapon xp is 1 for 30 and combat xp is 1 for 3 for sure but I haven't written the rest down.
