Same here. In fact, 80% of my guns are going to be useless to me now with the reworking on Certs. Over half of them are getting moved into Pistoleer, which I don't really have above novice. This is the reason I don't buy the "just give it to the pistoleers" line. The FWG5, Striker, and everything else above the Scout blaster that used to be in Pistols 1-4(with the exception of the dl-44 metal)now has pistoleer as a requirement. Pistoleer now has 3 or 4 master weapons (the dx2 was in master right? I know the Republic blaster, DE-10, and DL-44 xt currently are). That's a bit of overkill in my mind. Why can't smuggler have 2 master pistols? Move the DL-44 xt to Master Smuggler and Master Pistoleer would still have 3 assuming the DX2 is a master gun. I just got up (had to lay down a bit after work since I visited a chiropractor after work also and he said to

As I mentioned in another thread, my character carries a DL-44 because he knows of it's reputation, not because he wants to be like Han Solo. The people using that as an "arguement" as to why we shouldn't get (or want) the DL-44 need to find a new, and actually relevent, counter point.

Smuggling skill tree should be for the things that make a smuggler. Smuggling and dirty fighting.
If you want to be good with pistols, take up pistoleer.
Pistoleers are crying that all the other professions are getting pistols, Smugglers get the cert for an awesome pistol and new specials, neither of which they had previously, and they're whining that they didn't get "their pistol".

easy tiger, go read the replys (in this thread I might add)from the smuggler community before you make a statement like that.

My smuggler is not a Solo clone , although I do have a very nice DL-44, krayt actually. It looks cool and is decent. But The DL-44 isnt a smuggler pistol, what makes a smugglers pistol his pistol , would be any"modifications" to said pistol. So on the outside it looks like any other run of the mill garden variety pistol, but be a freakin hand cannon. I would like to get something becides the marksman pistols , being a master pistoleer i have certs for some good ones. But Id like to see smugglers lobby for a smugglers only slice , or hell have slicing in general be for smugglers only , something like that , other than some exotic pistol. Arent smugglers supposed to excel at doing the best they can with what theyve got? Joe Smuggler "finds" a decent pistol that some security officer carelessly misplaced, not too bad , lite , conceilable, but a little light on the busness end. So he applies a little knowlege he picked up from, where ever ,and now voila. The perfect pistol, for now.

Sorry for the late reply, been muchos busy lately 
My stance on this is that the DL-44 is an iconic Star Wars weapon that should be certed in a high position within an elite profession. I think Pistoleer is as good a choice as any, it is after all a pistol, so where better to place arguabley the most iconic pistol in the game? Yes, Han Solo used this pistol, but as Joras has been asking people to remember, we're not all Han Solo clones, we're Smugglers.
Under the same rationale of "Han had it, so should we!", Bounty Hunters should also get access to a bunch of commando certs and mods; if this were a class based game, I'd agree with you, Smuggler should have access to the pistol, but it's not, it's a profession based game, meaning we get to choose how to customise our characters as we want to.

Ummm... it seems to me that the reason the DL44 was such a low level weapon was because of the new Slicing game. I though the whole new concept was that Slicing lower level weapons would allow us to 'experiment' on them more to make up the gap. What's the news on this?

I'll take equipping renegade or deathhammer cert over DL-44 any day. They seem upset 'cause they dont get the guns with the new graphics., its all cosmeticanyway,IMO. After so many hours and so many beers, I can't tell the difference between how things look on the screen.

Actually, I would very much prefer to have a Black DL-44 XT. Its always been my favorite pistol hands down, even over the new ones. I'm still my own Smuggler even though I'm alot like Han cause thats just how my Smuggler is. Heck, Dash Rendar uses a DL-44 just like Han, and hes another iconic Smuggler. Can't we have some similarity and overlap here with others or do we have to be 100% different?
I think you guys with the "Be your own Smuggler" idea have this backwards. What if my Smuggler wants a nice DL-44 like the others? Its not going to kill anyone and frankly, we could use a Black DL-44 XT. It seems like many of you are looking down on us if we in any way remotely have any similarity to Han or Dash or Lando or anyone else. I fly a YT, am I a Solo wannabe and clone? Will I be condemned? Am I not an authentic Smuggler because I choose to fly the ship or use the pistol? Am I copycat worthy of your scorn?
Guys, remember that this is a game first, experience second. If you all have problems not wanting to build up the DL-44, a preferred weapon by many players, because you all have hangups about what Smugglers should be in your mind is folly. I think it would be nice to have a nice black DL-44 XT instead of that horrible metal one. We Smugglers need the love anyway so lets get all we can get! We deserve this!
