I don't see this as us getting screwed....well anymore than anyone else is. The CU calls for EVERY profession to give allowance for balance. And I'm ALL for that. I like that we do have to pick and choose. I am sick and tired of cookie cutter templates and Smuggler dabblers... I reiterate...I love the certs being so spread out. Causes us to make choices and not just pick the FOTM or the U83R Temp. If that pistol is so important for you...go Pistoleer. I don't mean any disrespect. I understand your frustration with the changes. I was angry mad frustrated at losing Triple Master. But I've come to accept it and see the positive. All of these changes DO seem to have the ultimate goals of fun, diversity, and balance in mind. And I am for that.

I don't think that people are ambivalent, and I don't see this as being nerfed.
As people have said, it's an 'ability' or 'skill' that you need to choose whether you want it or not. It's not as if it's a pistol that's been given to Doctors for instance. While there are arguments for and against what they've done, it does make sense that it's a Pistoleer cert.
I'm torn between skills I'll lose from triple master and new ones I can pick up with commando, and I'm actually kind of excited about the choices.
At the end of the day, to a lot of people maybe there are just so many more important things that need attention in Smuggler - game breaking things like Smuggling, slicing and spices.
A pretty gun isn't at the top of my list. Skills and mods and content are what Smuggler needs and what will make the game fun.
That said, I feel your pain, and I would like to have a DL-44, but if it's not a good weapon (like it is atm) then I'm not that fussed...

I don't even care what gun I get so long as I get one thats better than the marksman pistol 4 and I actually get some speed and accuracy mods to use it.
Who here is just tired of not being able to hit the broad side of a torton with an fwg5?

I'ma go ahead and pipe in here....
Obed, we are not ambivalent.
Wealready have two specialpistols, isn't that enough for you? We're not a combat profession, we're a hybrid. Why should we be given a combat pistol if we've already been given two special ones?
I'm going to have to agree with Fish and say, just because Han Solo carried around a DL-44 doesn't mean I should have to.
If you need that pistol bad enough, be a pistoleer. It's that simple. If you don't, keep your planned template and move along.

And while we're at it, QFE

Kinda sucks that all my krayt DL-44's are going to be worthless to me after the CU, though...

See? THere you go being right again! Stop it already! I was readign through, and thinking of a response and it was going to be that we already get 2 pistols, and that is good enough for me....and boom! here coems your post! Mmprmrhprfhfhprfhfhfprrfmfff.
Anyway, yeah We already get 2 and that is the most out of all but Pistoleer. I would say we've been taken care of in that regard. As much as I would liek to see a black Dl-44 that would be useful stat-wise, I am perfectly content with what we are getting.
I am not Han Solo, nor d oI want to be. As cool as he is, the lore of what he does/did is even cooler. That's what I am in this biz for...not to be compared to Solo. I don't think we have any more right to the weapon that he used then Politicians do for Striker pistol because Leia used one in ROTJ, or a Republic Blaster because Padme used one in Phantom Menace. A lot of SGW players need to get off the entitlement track...because it's gonna crash real soon.

The DL-44 was made by BlasTech, a common and completely legitimate corporation.. there's no reason it shouldn't be Master Pistoleer, to be honest... just cuz Han used it doesn't mean non smuggler's couldn't/wouldn't. In fact, if I remember it was one of BlasTech's best selling models to security personell and the like.
QFE, people need to calm the hell down. Seriously people, this is going too far. Are we going to demand next that no other profession in the game be able to wear the striped pants cause that's what Han wore? Solo was cool, but he is not the end all be all of SW smugglers. Personally for me there are two or three others I think are cooler.
QFE.
First we complain that we're getting pidgeon-holed into becoming Solo-clones (i remember last year Smuggler protest ideas with everyone dressed like Solo). Now it's like, because Han Solo did that we all have to.
Is the DL44 is pimp looking pistol? Of course. Did Han have a nicely tricked out one? I would assume so. But he wouldn't want to meet me in a dark alley and face me with my pimped-out Intimidator, Renegade, etc. (I'm debating between MS, MP, Commando 4440 or MS, MSL, Pistol 4000, Combat Prowess 0300). Either way, i'll have either the DL44+ or the Indimidator.
More to the point, however, is we're all Smugglers. We're arrogant and cocky. Han Solo should be considered our competitor not our hero. If you don't think you're better than him, you need to get out of this business, son. Me? I'm second to nobody. I'll modify a DH-17 or Power5 or Death Hammer so that in my hands, Han Solo on his best day couldn't beat me half asleep, hungover, and looking for my pants before that pretty Twi'lek dancer wakes up.
I just wish there were more, equally powerful, great looking pistols. Let us be more individual instead of every Smuggler running around with Renegades or DL44s; every SL running around with Intimidators; every CM with Disrupters, etc.

Adding to the "read the whole thread" sentiment, as I said a few posts above, the community has spoken, albeit in a manner that greatly suprised me.
So, for goodness' sake, let's just let the thread die.
