In other words, a slice OVER 35 percent IS possible, otherwise the question "Now, if you could just confirm that Weapon slices above 35% were not possible, you would be my hero for the week..." would have been answered outright, as he usually does
Actually Rankor,
I think GM's statement is fairly clear. They generally don't discuss number specifics. In that case no Dev's question would not be answered. A vast majority of the community has not seen a weapon slice over 35%. Until it is proven one way or another by facts and screenshots can be altered. Thus the myth will continue until the actual Developers enlighten us it will stay a myth. This is my opinion. Flaming others for their views is not a contructive way to interact with others in your community. Agreeing to disagree is an aceptable alternative. If I ever get the slice, I will grin and say wow it's true. Or if we are enlightened by the Developers we know the limits of our abilities.
With the tinkering that is done with the code without the community knowing it would make the odd Myth slice possible. Just as fast as the tinkering is done it can also be removed. If the Developers were to give us a definite number for our max, then they would be tying their hands on their tinkering in some areas behind the scenes. If you understand what I am trying to say. Too many thoughts in my head right now.![]()
I once got a 36% damage slice on a weapon. At least that's what the smuggler who sliced it for me said, but the numbers matched...

He was not a dev and he was wrong...
So is that a definitive answer on the "tools make no difference" debate?
I heard the same thing in one of the open forums at FanFest from the devs. So I'd say...

NikkiDial has it correct. The Master box improves slicing, but the tool quality and other things do not.
wow how long did it take us to get this reply from a Dev?

I sliced a guys LLCfor 37% the other day... not 35 or 32 or even 31... it was 37. Base damage on it was well over 1000.
