Well said. I often wonder if they understand they are hurting us... this is a roleplaying game after all. Why does everything star wars have to be about Jedi... god... I HATE JEDI. Not the players, just the JEDI to begin with. What is so fascinating about a lightsaber anyway? Why does the force intrigue everyone?

I remember going to see the movies for only one reason... to see Harrison Ford play HAN SOLO, the ONLY character in the movies as long as I am concerned.

You notice how Han Solo was the only one to do movies after Star Wars? I see Jedi as 100% marketing no substance just pure BS to make us stay long enough for them to spawn and SWG 2. Jedi are already written, otherprofessios would require too much creativity.

Acknowledge us! I am sick and tired of being strung along, this forum has taken a critical blow in the last few days... common, you know its true. The day one of MY THREADS can stay on the front page is the day this forum has sustained heavy damage. Heck, my thread was about MacGyver... honestly...

Give us some sort of sign...

Careful what you wish for, you just might not like it when you get it. Go visit the shaman forums at the EQLive forums. We were begging to hear just something, and we did, and never heard from them again basically.

If the communities in-game fall apart, the communities built around the game will fall apart.

I run an RP site. Currently well over 600 members, catering to RPers on Starsider. How do they meet, how do they even know the site exists? Through interaction in-game. Through getting to know each other while "living the life in the Star Wars universe". They've come to interact by doing the very things that SOE is now removing.

Once, that community throbbed with new plots, schemes, rumours, gossip, events, information, battles, news.

Now it's mostly a bunch of disatisfied players bitching about the exploding jedi population (now, if they could only explode like the suicide bomber population for a change) and jedi whining about how no-one will speak to them since they got their glowbat and by the way, life is sooooooo hard and BHs are evil.

Way to go, SOE. F&ck over your players again.

And now this community, this cynical, irreverant, joyful bunch of scoundrels-in-spirit is beginning to crumble as well. Hope you're proud of yourselves, SOE. This community was the best on any of your profession boards.

I guess i'll bend over and take my banning again now before i cancel.

My last reply.....and I did it to Tiggs who posts to non-game related aspects while being a CSR pooter. A Dev did not reply. A CSR on steroids replied. Well, Smugglers wait to smuggle. She can't handle consumer relations like her job but a CSR can crimp my style, TH is the windshield magnet... and well they need to figure out how to fire their CSM's. They do not relate to customer issues. They do not relate to Correspondent issues. What do they do? Nada but post jokes and know they are on a timer. Tiggs, get your kids some coke since pepi is nerfed and you should have apps in for a new job so your kids can have their fix. Especially since you don't ever stand up for your beliefs. Garva and Big V.... thank you for letting the smugglers vent without going nazi/red wall on them. We won't smuggle... We are a bit beyond that point. We are supposed to be livid and accused per game status... not allowed. Ask the Devs. Wes.... get on the ball.

I'm in almost complete agreement with Veela. The only thing I kind of disagree with is the CU grouping. Not that I'm against it, just the fact it was an attempt is great is cool. But, the reality of it is, its NOTHING like grouping was in the first few months of the game. Maybe its because you have to sit and watch the hotbar or it might even be because I play on Kauri, we have a lot of French players, so there can be a big language barrier sometimes. But there is NOWHERE near the chatting, comraderie that there used to be in grouping. I wish there was and I believe the devs intentions were there, its something we were all wanting for a long time. I also don't think a lot of the people are getting what their roles are or how to perform their roles in the groups as well. Thats noe SOE's fault but, I think there needs to be a way to convey to (mostly the new) people a bit better when they pick up a profession what their roles are intended to be. It was put out with the CU docs, so a lot of us saw, but the new players and people that don't view the forums have no idea that they have a defined role.

Excellent post.

The devs have single handed almost destroyed the game. Good work.

People are not grouping for the same reasons anymore. The main reason in the days you're mentioning was to maximise the chance of survival. Now it is to maximise the experience point gain.

Yup. There WAS nothing like grouping on endor, a nice group of 20, everyone scrambling to stay alive when a sing Hanadak ran at them because they were unarmored, unbuffed, and had a noob scout blaster, or spraystick or something, and like master marksman

Excellent post, if it weren't for an outstanding role playing community on Kett., I would have already cancelled my subscription. Ie,it isnt really the 'game' that keeps me playing so much as the 'players' who I interact with that keep me playing.

I've been here since day 31, and I dont forsee things changing too much...I guess that's another reason why i'm still here, i'm never suprised when this or that doesn't happen like the Devs claim.

My trust in SOE has been shattered and honestly, they should be paying many of the players who make this game truely'Star Wars'.

Yeah - this has been a large part of the reason I am still around, also. However, the words of an old buddy of mine (a self-admitted EverCrack addict) echo in my mind constantly now:

"I hate the game, but I play it anyway because of all the people I know."

I've milled over that saying repeatedly recently. I'm just not able to do anything inside the game at an emotional level, because I hate everything that's been happening to SWG of late.ROTW gave me something to do, but even that wore off after I hit the "you must group to achieve these objectives" missions. You'd think they'd be more popular, since in virtually every MMORPG group content is end-game, worthwhile content -- but not in SWG. Here, it'd seem that grinding Jedi to completion is at the forefront of things to do *before* attempting these missions, if ever at all. If these missions were in about a year or year and a half ago, there would be constant "LFG" yells in every major starport. But not now.

I hate to say it, but even with smuggling content added there's no way to say for sure that will even keep me interested in the game now. It won't take many missions, no matter how unique they are, before I burn out again, simply because of the sheer and absolute lack of things to do aside from grinding Jedi. That, and that alone, is why SWG got such poor ratings when it came out. It's my sincere hope, though I'm not holding my breath in this regard, that someone in development figures that out and draws up a plan to bring in lots of new and unique content.

THATS SWG's potential.
