(sadly I do seem to attract the worst people "Can you slice my weapon (already sliced)", "use the l33t 'sploit" and " slice my melon")
"Slice my melon"? Are you joking? You've got to give us details..

I'll start taking pride in my "work" when the Smuggler revamp comes through.. till then, it's back to the "grab your ankles" dance....Well, that is the oldest profession. The second oldest profession being motherhood.
/salute, a cookie, and 5 stars! lol

I AM GETTING A LITTLE FED UP WITH THIS CRAP.
sory guys just had some really rude clients these days.
ok this is the scenario:
guy in full comp brings me 6 de-10 pistols for slicing and he starts whinin about my prices are to high.
i tell him that his paying for MY TIME AND MY SKILL POINTS SPENT ON THE PROFESION
how can i get this idea across to people.
they spend 200k's on a weapon and they are to cheap to spend 10k's(what i charge) to imporve it froma 11% to a 35% in dmg or speed.
ah come one,i have talke to other smugglers and i really respect the fact that they charge only like 2 or 3 k's forslice, this is a free galaxy and you have the liberty to charge as much as you want,
yesterday for example i was talking to this ms and while talking i got a tell for slicing, when he looked at my bio and and saw the price he refused to use my services, then i directed him to my coleague which only charged 2.5 k's.
he didi the slicing and i was ok with that,i was happy to give the bussines to anoter master smuggler.
ive done lots of work pro-bono in TAT for noob's hey i do some role play and we have fun,i like helping out,but when my buffs are runniong out and i get tell s fro slicing nobody seems to wanna pay for my time or skills.
well im still going to be charging 10k's per weapon and 100k's per armour(comp),whoever likes it ok,if they dont well i guess they wil have to find another who will do the same job and get underpaid(no flaming plz just postin my thoughts)
I would tell him fine I for 100cr per % then I would purposely slice it all wrong and say sorry since I was under paid I only gave what I thought I was worth and trade them back lol. That would teach him. As I said before I will no longer slice for the public, they do not deserve it. I can understand others doing to make credits but as for me I'm pretty well set there. No need to go through the crap of helping people who are so ungrateful u want to choke them through the cable line.
Next time if someone tells you that you charge to much double your rates rigth there of him. Maybe then they will get the point. If a doc can buff for 25k on Dant. You can slice for 10k. I have always chrged 10k when I sliced. Could careless if they thought it was high.

You're the reason he cant charge 10k. You think since u charge 2 credits everyone should right??? lol. I my self would be scair to hand a DE10 to some idiot who said they would do it for free. Why would they besides trying to steal it.
You're a better amn then me. I said 5k for a slice if its over 30% its 10k for that item. I once had a suit sliced for encrum for all over 30% it came to 90K, He said no. It sold pretty fast on my vendor for 90k
djtorre wrote:
yes it must be that their use ti lower prices,,hehe 5 k's isnt the lowest ive seen thou, ive seen people slice for 2k's and i think that is just a waste of time.
we must take pride in our job.
the other day this client complained because he got a 35% speed slice on one of those carbines(forgot the model),he wanted a dmg slice but hey come on,i improved the weapon speen IN 35% thats alot,he refused to pay so i left the item in my back pack telling him that each day would increment the price in 20k's for my troubles and stress he gave me with him and all his friends sending angry tells.
a week later he finally came and payed.
now his really smooth with,so i think we need to stand up for ourselves,
thats my opinion and what im doing right now, everyone is free to do as they want.

Cool it guys, English isn't his first language.
Aye, it obviously isn't. There is educating, and then there is being just plain rude.
But I kid.
I echo what the guy above said. When you're on the internet, you have to remember that you're dealing with those for whom English is not their mother tongue, so it pays to be polite instead of a stereotypical rude Frenchman who considers his language sacrosanct or a smart-aleck Spaniard who thinks all Americans are dumb.
As to the topic at hand: If people will pay for it, it's not too expensive. Conversely, if people won't pay for it, then it is too expensive, unless high prices are part of some master bargaining strategy to beguile the hapless customer. If it were me, I'd find a guy charging a lot for slicing, then stand a few meters away and undercut him by a reasonable margin. Any initial losses would be made up for in volume, while those who are impatient and unwilling to stand in line would go to Chez Smuggler and his high prices just to get it over with. Everyone wins.
