You see that thing at the bottom of each of my posts, my signature? Yeah you see what that says? 5k/item for slices. I don't know where or how you got 2 credits but really...check your own reading skills before you enter the thread.

well im still going to be charging 10k's per weapon and 100k's per armour(comp),whoever likes it ok,if they dont well i guess they wil have to find another who will do the same job and get underpaid(no flaming plz just postin my thoughts)
You're the reason he cant charge 10k. You think since u charge 2 credits everyone should right??? lol. I my self would be scair to hand a DE10 to some idiot who said they would do it for free. Why would they besides trying to steal it.

If a smuggler want to charge 10k for a slice, fine, charge 10k, it's that smuggler's price, don't like it, go to someone that charges less. But I think most people will charge to the customer, is a newbie comes up wanting to slice a basic weapon. I'll slice it and charge nothing, but explain about it for later, the real newbi's say thanks for all the information.
But here's another way to look at it. A doc will charge you 10k for a 2 hour buff. We get grief for charging even 7k for a weapon that a person will use for weeks maybe months. Who's charge is really more cost effective?

You're a better amn then me. I said 5k for a slice if its over 30% its 10k for that item. I once had a suit sliced for encrum for all over 30% it came to 90K, He said no. It sold pretty fast on my vendor for 90k
djtorre wrote:
yes it must be that their use ti lower prices,,hehe 5 k's isnt the lowest ive seen thou, ive seen people slice for 2k's and i think that is just a waste of time.
we must take pride in our job.
the other day this client complained because he got a 35% speed slice on one of those carbines(forgot the model),he wanted a dmg slice but hey come on,i improved the weapon speen IN 35% thats alot,he refused to pay so i left the item in my back pack telling him that each day would increment the price in 20k's for my troubles and stress he gave me with him and all his friends sending angry tells.
a week later he finally came and payed.
now his really smooth with,so i think we need to stand up for ourselves,
thats my opinion and what im doing right now, everyone is free to do as they want.
That's rediculous, you shouldn't sell it! Just wait till he has the money. That would be considered stealing....

I don't see how a smuggler could possibly get mad at another smuggler for charging too much for slicing. I personally don't ever advertise slicing (I'm a RPer and that seems wrong to me) but I still get more tells than I can handle asking for slicing. I always answer with "10k per item" and haverarely had anyone balk.
The catch is, if they roleplay the transaction with me, they get my "RPers discount" wich means I charge less, sometimes up to free, depending how interesting they were. Point is, it is none of your business, what I charge. If I get a "Dewd, sum1 told m3 u r cool, no thx" then he's back out in the sea, and you can charge whatever you want to them, and I won't care even a little bit.

I use a lil thing we call The Sliding Scale
11-19% = 4k
20-25% = 6k
26=31% = 8k
32-35% = 10k
36-44% = 11k *armor only*
PERFECT = 12k regardless of weapon/armor ie: 35/45
Most ppl haven't a clue what slicing entails and agree to the prices...and i'm on Bloodfin though...with prices skyrocketing and all that jazz....grab a million in a night....its a piece of cake

yeah true. a lot does go into it. sometimes i find a crate of clamps for 15k. thats absurd. so i buy for 8k. that seems the going rate for a crate of wuks/auks/clamps..maybe P. knives. i never thought of this before, until i read this thread. if you buy all that, it comes to about 32k of items you have to buy to slice. i wouldnt mind uping my charge. i do it now for 6k on chilastra. i only had one complaint, not really, more of a "wow thats pretty high" but hewanted 100c/%. on avg, thats proably get about 3k. thats nothing. on the other hand, i can earn 32k back and then some slicing a full set of armor for 54k. at 100c/% , at about 3k for a full set is 27k barely to some, but to me, not breaking even. am i in the wrong?
to add, depending on how uber the weapon/armor(ill use weapon for an example) i sometimes see weapons on the bazzar for 6k that are better than weapons that you find on vendors for hundreds of thousands of credits. when people spend that amount, whats 6k or 10k to them? pennies under the couch.

Ok so i'm in Theed the other day, just minding my own business and i get a tell "hey got a few min to slice 10 power hammers for me?". I say sure, tell the person it will be 5k each and where to meet me. The person complained a tiny bit about the price but not too much. I figured that they were a WS or merchant that wanted to put the sliced ones up for sale. Turns out this person had bought like 20 power hammers and was having them all sliced to try to get 1 really good speed and one really good damage slice....
Now i know power hammers aren't that expensive unsliced, but still. If you are buying 20 of them to get a good slice, don't complain about it costing 5k per slice...

Before becoming a smuggler myself I'd do that all the time. Not complain about pricing, mind you—but mostly because I had a deal with a smuggler friend. I provided her with 1000 unit runs of AUKs and WUKs, she did occasional full-crate slices for me. Well worth it to get those one or two 35% speed/damage per crate. Not that I would complain about the price even if it wasn't a barter situation.
Er…yeah. If you can afford the quarter million to buy the crate, you can afford the 75K to slice it. Anyway, off to ramble elsewhere.

well since the day i wrote this post i have been slicing with a diffrent type of perspective.
i still charge my 10k's per weapon, and if the client thinks its too high i hav ethis macro set up which states he spended a lot on the weapon and that for and for an increase of 15% to 35% on dmg or speed its not expensive.
some have agreed, some have insulted me,have some laughed at me.
i have some others say to me:
" i am a noob i can only afford 2k's or 5k's"
in that case i have sent a tell saying:
come to where i am,let me look your bio if u are a noob as you say the slice is free.
bottom line is im going to have fun and not tryo to argue about prices,
seems lately everyone just thinks about the big old mighty buck..
im just in a weird mood these days,i miss camping with my friends cause we needed to rest oafter killing 2 durni's hehehe
the good old days, slicing does allow to meet some cool people, but it only seems a few,the rest just think about cred's and having that cool av'21 or uber comp suit with the best atachemnts.
from here i wanna say hi to fakor and alvaro,we were in solo group the other day and i was so bored we decided to create a new toon in another server, that was so fun, training eachother, camping, geting incaped by a correlian buterfly i dont know it was so diffrent adn it felt good to just chill at the camp while we were healin.
so if any of you feels like i do rigth now,go and make a new toon and start from scratch just enjoying the game and getting that feeling we used to have.
i dont know where all this came from, buti am feeling a little nostalgious today.
well guys thnkx for taking the time to read this
