I charge 7k a slice. PSGs free (with any other slice). 65-70k per armor set. Also depends on my mood. I've already made a couple of customers who keep coming back, too. It's really kind of nice. That, and helping a newb smuggler by giving him tips and advice, really made my week last week.

I ask because I know that he pays 440 credits for a slice. Just as with slicing, a tools merchant invest skill points for the schems, time for survey, harvester runs, and vendor runs. I didn't say there was anything wrong with his price but if 10K is reasonable for a slice, what is reasonable for the tools?

Oh ok, I see what you are getting at. On my server they go for about 3k-5k (they being AUK, WUK) Maybe im wrong for thinking this way, but Weponsmiths and Armorsmiths sell those as an after thought. I liken them to our percision laser knives or a stim pack ingredient, i.e it's just one piece of the puzzle. Our prices shouldn't have an affect on their current prices.

But this is just my way of thinking, it's probably not right *shrug* I sleep regularly In Econ. class

Try going at it as a Rogue or something besides the Master tag. You dont get hit as much but you deal with better quality players it seems. Master Smuggler tag attracts alot of annoying ppl IMO.

It is a little out of hand, i've seen docs charging 20k for buffs, and people will pay 50k+ with out hesitation for a weapon, but they give me grief about charging 5k for a slice...

My bio says my prices and that I won't haggle, and if you don't wanna pay it to find someone else and I still have people come to me and then try to tell me that they'll give me 3k to slice their weapon or something. Priorities are way out of whack and people are just rude...

I get enough slicing business just slicing for the guild armorsmith and guild weaponsmith. We have two master smugglers in our guild and there is plenty of work. I honestly don't know what I would charge for a slice if I did it to make money. Probably somewhere in the 5-10k range. If people complain oh well they can go somewhere else. The sad thing is that there are still people who think we can slice for a specific increase (damage/speed or Enc/Eff).

ok well i have been asking around too many other friends that play online role games and i asked them the following:

would you pay 10k's to improve a weapon a min of 15% and a max of 35%,imagining that the weapon cost you 200k's?

they all said yes,and thats like 50 people i have asked, let me repeat they all said yes.

so that kinda makes you think.

doesnt matter result we get the point is we improved performance on that weapon, low % or high % slice doesnt matter we improved it using our hard earnes skills, because really for me the pistol grind was the most tedious grind ive done, hehe well maybe cause im more melee type player.

thnkx for all the response guys, ilovethe fact i can express my feelings with my collegues and not getting trolled or flamed

keep up the good work guys.

I still charge 100cr a percentage.

I'm not slicing to make the money. Its a good way to interact with people - espicially where the rest of my template is combat based. Though I see no problem people charging what they want

Is enough to cover the tools and make sure I've got enough to use the shuttle

(sadly I do seem to attract the worst people "Can you slice my weapon (already sliced)", "use the l33t 'sploit" and " slice my melon")

When I'm 'open for business' is the only time I use my Master Smuggler tag. On Kettemoor, it seems that there are less Masters than there used to be, and we have a lot of slicers who try to pass off their work as master quality. So, by putting up the Master tag, I assure my customers of qualty work.

Someone earlier had said that on Kettemoor, it's not uncommon to see folks chargint 3-4k per slicein CNet. I usually just put up my Master tag and let folks come to me. But I'm very firm on my 5k price. Sometimes folks with a large (more than 10 pieces) order will ask if I discount for bulk slicing, and I may negotiate with that. Sometimes.

One time, I sliced 26 armor pieces for a dude... I was gonna charge him 100k for the whole thing ('cuz he was nice about everything), but he insisted on paying me 200k... even though 5 of his slices were under 20% (it was a bad slicing run for me).

When I first raised my prices to 5k, I had some guildmates tell me that I was crazy and I'd never get business that way, but I haven't had many folks walk away at 5k. Heck, if you can support 10k, go for it!

Yup, peaple are cheap all right.

I'm slicing in coronet, I receive a tell asking me if I'll slice "a few" weapons. I tell him I charge 8k per item, but discount for larger numbers of items and ask how many items he has.

He says he has 23 and he'll pay 70k. (Nice to know people still think they can tell me what to charge)

Thats just over 3k per item.

No.

I counter offer with a price about 5k per item, still a major discount on my usual prices, but he "doesn't think so" and disapears.

Who needs 23 weapons? He's either thinking he'll get a heap of bad slices or, My guess, he's a weaponsmith thats gonna sell on the sliced weapons for a heck of a lot more than he's willing to pay me.

/sigh
