Ok,

Fewof points about the "Lady Luck" for you all to consider

First: It only has one (1) Gun. The other gun looking things you see on the ship are a Comm Transceiver and a Long Range Sensor Transceiver. Check out the Essential guide to vechicels if you doubt this.

Seconded: When Lando got the "Lady Luck" he was done with his sumggling days. He was into legit business. i.e. his driod company, the moving mining stations, and the like. Yes, they where get quick schemes, but legit business non the less. So his yacht was designed more for luxury then smuggling. Also Lando was never much of a fighter. Han put all the of arments on the Falcon after he aquried it from Lando. If Lando was a SWG PC his templet would be Smuggler/ DE/Business Four. Lando did put some pretty advanced sensors and ID hiding componts on the ship, I mean he still did have a price on his head from the Imp remeant.

So IMO this gift from the devs is a great way for them to put multi-person ships in right away so we can bring large groups to the adv planets and have large parties in space with out friends. Becasue the Devs know that the yt-1300 is going to be so over priced when JTL hits the streets that mosy players will not get a chance to have a multi-player experince in space for quite some time. I do feel that they should give it to players that have been playing for 12 months or longer not 6, but hey I am so thrilled that they thoght of this. I think it is going to be great for the game and for all players not just us.

Just my 2-cents.

Bear in mind that in upgrading this free ship, you still need the Shipwright. Whether it's to buy the parts they make, or to have them reverse engineer the loot you find to make it useful, you still need them. I don't think anyone's getting cut out of the deal on this one, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's completely upgradeable.

They did say it was a multi-person ship.

"These players will receive the deed for the multi-passenger ship model SoroSuub Personal Luxury Yacht 3000 the day Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed launches."

Anyway, I don't believe the ships themselves will be where the Shipwrights get their income. The ships cannot be destroyed, so once a player buys or is given one, that's it. The money is going to come from the parts that go into the ship. These can be damaged and will be the regular income. That's why I don't think the ships themselves will matter so much as the parts put in them. I believe the ships will mostly be "skins" with limited effect on the abilities, and the parts added will be the big factor. Ths "stock" ships will probably come with "stock" parts when they're built, which will give them their "stock" attributes and upgrades will make them better, but the "skin" is for looks and maybe determines what can be put in them.

Hey

What struck me as interesting was the multi-passanger capability. In fact, this concept itself strikes me as interesting. Since everyone who buys JtL is getting a free ship, regardless of quality, everyone will be able to get into space as soon as JtL is installed(as is intended). Why, then, would you need multi-passanger capability? More importantly, why are the Devs giving out a ship with multi-passanger capability right from the start? Ignoring the fact that it's friggin cool, I can only think of two reasons: to transport people who don't have a ship of their own, or to transport people to zones only certain professions(like Smuggler) can access. For example, blockaded worlds, or the deep space zone.

It's a much better reward than I expected (although I would have rather seen a YT-2000 or even the 2400). That being said, I have two main concerns.

One is that it will be relatively lame in comparison to other ships.I would assume it will be certed at novice pilot, otherwise there's not much point it getting one when JTL launches. So, I'm afraid it's going to be the CDEF of ships.

The second worry is that they're going to do something stupid and limit the number of ships we can hold in our datapad. I don't want to have to surrender the ability to fly one of the ships I'd earn in my pilot profession just to use this reward.

Also, note how they say "multi-passenger". That doesn't mean the passengers can crew it like the YT-1300... they might just be along for the ride.

I'm a space sim whore but there are others who aren't. Who's to say whether some people really want to fly or just want the ground based perks to JtLS?

I personally think it's a great vet reward, cdef of ships or not.

I'm just gonna wanna take people up on it and jam out, or manually fly all the way

toan adventure site with ahuntinggroup while everyone's getting buffed and we're

all chillin.

Another thought I had.....Maybe ships can hold items? Basically increase you're

inventory like droids? That would be friggin sweet, amybe a pain to get things out

of it, but it's still extra inven.

I certainly don't plan on using this for combat in space, I'll buy other ships for that.

As for ship prices, I can see a "guildhall-equivalent" going for upwards of 5mil the

first few days, then things'll calm down. Just like mounts and vehicles.

As for other ships not being available for several days.....people master WS in under

8 hours regulalry. I saw someone do architect in about 2 hours. Other ships WILL

be available after one day at the latest.

Personaly i just dont want to see ships end up like armor...the last thing I want to see is everyone flying around in the same ships because thay are so superior to others. And as far as the gift goes its free so I dont much care how good it will be.

"15 thousand!? We could almost buy our own ship for that!"

"And who's gonna fly it kid, you?"

Yet another massive continuity blunder by the devs of SWG

It's been confirmed that you canplace stuff inthe interior of theYT-1300. So it can hold items, but how many isn't known. I'm guessing it will be 75, like that one Naboo house that only takes 1 lot. Maybe less.

I'm also guessing that any ship with an interior people can mill around in would be the same. So this one will probably have storage too.

Heh, sh!t, Geevo, I'm gonna have both. After all, the Yacht's FREE. Who cares how it handles? It's my pimp mobile! I just hope I can get some one to fly it for me, as I don't wanna have to drive my own limo.
