Thread: Wow, many more ships for ROTW

Same reason a vending machine has no sense of aesthetics.

Where did you see the information on the V-Wing? I don't see it anywhere on the Gamespot page...The information for the V-Wing came from a Star Wars starship information site. It really does exist in a top secret form late in RotJ and after that I think. I could be wrong since the only time I've seen it is in the Rogue Squadron video game. But I believe it came during/after RotJ while fighting the Imperial remnant or something. Dreven would know.
And I didn't typo the B into a V. That's how it is on the site, as a V-Wing.
If i remember correctly, the V-wing didn't come into Aliance service until shortly after Thrawn, during that whole reborn-Emperor story. But it's not really a spacecraft. It's an atmospheric attack craft similar to the Snowspeeders though not specialized for cold environments. X-Wings, Y-Wings, etc, are designed to space battles, not for atmospheric flight, so they suffer aerodynamically. The V-Wing, supposidly, doesn't suffer the same air resistence and gravity effects the space-based fighters do, and is thus more maneuverable in atmosphere.

So I got curious.
I looked at the page instead of the pictures of the ships.
In the upper right corner of the page is a seperate picture under what is listed as Screen Shots; which is also a link to a seperate page. So I clicked it. It brought up two more pages of pictures.
Now the first page has all the pictures we can see in the original link at the beginning of this post. It also has a few others that are not in that link.
The second page has two pictures that are not in that link; as well as all the original screen shts from when the Expansion was first announced.
But what caught my attention was one of the two ship pictures on that page.
This Picture -- Is that a hint at the Space Mining?
Ok I know they have talked about the Mining Ship as though it were something we haven't seen yet... but could this pic possibly be a hint that the Space Mining might be something we can do with our own ships with perhaps some special weapon mounted?
Oh and also that pic has a great shot of the Grievous from a different angle.

Yes you're correct; the ships in the picture do not look like Mining Vessels.
Three of them are the new Jedi Fighter, and the larger one is the Grievous.
But what caught my attention, was the Asteroid that appears to be blowing up, as though some ships had been hitting it with a powerful weapon.. note the chunks being blasted off... and the four ships flying towards it, and not away from it.
So again, perhaps there is a little untruth here? Perhaps there is no real Mining Ship; perhaps the Mining is something we will be able to do with our own ships?

They've said from the beginning that mining is something you outfit your normal ship to do... No secret there.
There IS going to be a special mining ship, for skilled miners to earn, and it will be a 20 passenger POB ship

Or perhaps it's this tiny little speck that's probably a space station, as shown here.

Or maybe the people running SOE's site just done f*cked up.

Hmmm.. interesting, I'v never seen them say that about existing ships. The only thing I have ever seen them talk about in regards to the Mining is that there will be a special ship to do it; but never seen it mentioned by them that it would infact be something we can do in our normal ships.
But if they say we can; and that Pic seems to confim it.. then awesome.
