Knowing how they try to market this stuff, I'm sure that the Ep. III ships will be certed to everyone. Otherwise, I would hope they are available to privateer, since there doesn't appear to be any.

As far t=as the jedi starfighter, the way I read the description I think they were just writing it in a fanboy way which is why they mentioned the "using the force". I don't think it is descriptive of actual gameplay as it is a kick out to the famous line in regards to difficult targeting parameters on the ship.

That's just my take though. Other then that they are rehash ships, so nothing overly exciting. mass changeswill certainly throw the space game for a loop and cause an uneasy platform in terms of balance and comfort. So, space will be nearly as fooked up as the ground game will be at the time. yay!

'Cause someone wanted stuff added to the game that coincides with Ep3, completely as a major marketing tool.

that's exactly why.

The information for the V-Wing came from a Star Wars starship information site. It really does exist in a top secret form late in RotJ and after that I think. I could be wrong since the only time I've seen it is in the Rogue Squadron video game. But I believe it came during/after RotJ while fighting the Imperial remnant or something. Dreven would know.

And I didn't typo the B into a V. That's how it is on the site, as a V-Wing.

If i remember correctly, the V-wing didn't come into Aliance service until shortly after Thrawn, during that whole reborn-Emperor story. But it's not really a spacecraft. It's an atmospheric attack craft similar to the Snowspeeders though not specialized for cold environments. X-Wings, Y-Wings, etc, are designed to space battles, not for atmospheric flight, so they suffer aerodynamically. The V-Wing, supposidly, doesn't suffer the same air resistence and gravity effects the space-based fighters do, and is thus more maneuverable in atmosphere.

That's true, but it is also space worthy with hyperdrive and all. It's merely for descriptive purposes anyway...I doubt they will actually add the ship in.

Although 20-30 years isn't much in terms of thousands of years ofspace travel, remember that ships that old are considered "hunks of junk" (yt-1300) and newer ships are always performing better then their older ancestors. In nearly every EU book that talks about "relics" from the clone wars the ships and tech from that timeframe is considered ancient and ineffective. From guns to ships, anytime they say it is clone wars era they mean it is next to useless. It would be like being in Iraq and finding a stockpile of blunderbusses...not exactly going to help you win a gunfight.

So in terms of Star Wars EU...all of these ships would be next to useless in comparison to the new tech we already have.

I swear, those RotS ships better be high end quest rewards from NPCs. Not the schematics like the Firespray, but someone more along the lines of the Cries of Alderaan. Only more random for each person and difficult.

This is getting ridiculous.

Actually, I believe that LFL has V-Wings in EpIII - Not taking into account the V-Wing Airspeeder... The V-Wing mentioned is a starfighter.

However, we're still flying the Z-95 Headhunter around, and the Z-95 was in production before Episode I! (Read the Ep 1 novelization!) The ARC-170, Grevious fighter, and Jedi Starfighter II are much newer than one of the craft we're already flying.

On a side note, I'd rather they used the AotC Jedi Starfighter...that was much more aesthetically pleasing.

The Z-95 comment was a good point, but to address the "hunk of junk" comment, it was directed at the falcon, not at the ship in general. YT transports are well liked for their durability and the ease at which they can be modified. The falcon had been around for awhile, and not just flying legal cargo around. Not only had Han been shot at quite a few times in it, but at the very least he had also flown it insanely close to one too many black holes. Flying through radiation and accreation (spelling?) diskscan't be too good for a ship's appearence. Add to that at least one planetary assault he took her on through a very disruptive atmosphere. Let's see how well you look after all that.

Point is, not only was the falcon still viable, but Han often preferred it to other vessels. When Chewie took Leia to Kashykk to hide, Han made them take the Falcon. By all rights, there should have been some better shielded, more manuverable courier ship they could have taken, and they definitely could have found something less conspicuous.

You might counter by mentioning the upgrades Han put in. Well the hyperdrive upgrade was in there when he got it, so that should be fairly outdated by your logic as well. As for the rest, most of the upgrades were second hand salvage.

Stop Saying the Royal guard Interceptor is sweet! It's a red interceptor.

I'm also EXTREMELY wary of it, I don't like the idea of anyone getting anything designed for something you can't EVER be. Unless, as I mentioned in an Expansion forums thread, They plan to start handing out modified Red Mando armor, a robe and a force pike, to the pilots. In which case I'm going to the Dev who thought that up's house, and bludgeoning him with his own cybernetic arm.

I like all of the EP III ships, as for the Factional ships, blah.... Feels good to be a Smuggler.

The ARC-170 will be interesting to see. If anyone's seen the clone wars cartoon series, these are multi-person fighters. I believe Mace Windu was flying in one during the EP III trailer, too. I'd like to see lots more of multi-player ships, though....
