SOE has no respect for you as customers, never has and likely never will. For them to even think that they do is an insult to our intelligence.

The entire team cares very much about you the customers and the game. The game is constantly evolving and we need to focus our energy on bug fixes and making the game more fun for a wider audience. That includes the present audience in that. We want to have more players for you to play with and I am sure you want that also. With this comes reducing the scope of our publishes so that we can make sure that publishes are cleaner. This doesn't mean that there won't be changes to professions or other content, it just means that bigger things are pushed out and given the time to be worked on that they deserve.

Why does every other MMO seem to come out with patches almost daily and it takes 4 weeks to get 1 update in this game. The smugglers have been screwed forever and when there is a bug that comes out in publishes it takes the next publish to fix those bugs. Why is this? Why not just fix stuff all the time? If its getting approval from publishers and all that bla bla bla BS that we have been hearing for a while... well why not make them work harder and have them more involved. Its not just the smuggler community that is unhappy. Unless stuff changes quickly im not sure if we will have a player base for much longer.

I think some outrage from you would be in order.
You posted earlier that you know nothing about the plans.
That we don't is bad enough. But you?

We are talking about a revamp that is done already (or so they say)

You shouldnt be diplomatic.
Not now.

I've said my piece on this, loud and clear, just not in a place you can view.

wes,

I actually don't doubt that.
The language just sounded a bit to lapdogish for this day. And since they are so up on semantics (see "don't say it wasn't postponed") I always fear that something like what you say, might actually give them the feeling they are doing right by us.

Tell us what we can do.

Same old story. Smugglers will get shafted again, trust me, just like DE's. I've gone from 2 accounts and 20+ hours a week, to 1 account and 2-3 hours a week. Hell I never even ordered ROTW.

So we're all in agreement that Tiggs euphamism for 'postponed' was total BS?

No offense bud, I'm always behind you 110%, but the messenger hasn't had squat to say for awhile and then pops up with what she said today.

I'll shoot the messenger any time they want to assume I'm so stupid that I don't know the difference between a postponement and a postponement.

If someone wants to insult me by assuming I'm stupid, they better come up with something a whole lot better.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

When the messenger works for the likes of SOE and has absolutely nothing but BS then tries to defend it I say go ahead and 'shoot'.

The LAST thing I'd do is thank the 'messenger' for "clarifying"...

Wes was fearsome. Actually been sitting here a while thinking about what I could possibly add to it.

As i said, i believe it.

I am just getting really frustrated here.
I know, as many do, that a lot of (not all) but many things, wrong with this game could be easily made better with just a little bit of common sense and organisation.
How do i know that, not being a programmer? because the solutions are there, the systems are in place, its mostly just a matter of rearanging them, and put a decent writer (prose not code) on it.
And it drives me mad, that the DEVs time and again, are trying to do way to much, instead of doing the simple things first, but in quantity. i am not talking bugs here, but content and features.
I can't even imagine the process they are going through, but it is screwed up.
I could give a hundred examples, of how to implement things with only stuff that is already there, for all professions. But the DEVs have got it in there heads to make everything complicated, and thus inviting more errors.

I always thought, to be a good programmer you should be economic and concise. They make everything big and slow.

If we could only open a real channel off communication. I know that many ideas coming from these boards are just impractical, but many aren't, and with the right guidance by the DEVs we might actually be able to help.

It's all there, in the most complex game i know of. It's like Lego. But they wan't to be genial and fail so much bigger as well.

  1. Smugglers still can't smuggle.
    Since release. Since PRE-release. Since...
Mission terminals, space quests, slicing mini-game, bounty hunters.. the pieces are all out there, just put them together for us! Give me a reason to use my YT-1300 and give me a chance to be interdicted and fight or evade detection with a secret compartment.. And the new loot system is horrible. I was optimistic at first, but the fact that the components don't stack, the rarity of the high end items (ICB, Mandalorian Intraframes, etc.) is insulting.

We are currently focusing on fixing what is currently broke. New features will be move out to a longer term implementation.

Can't get much more long term than 2 years can you?
