I think that's the 5th time today I've read "blah blah blah, its been 2 years and we still don't know how to run a game so we're going to try to implement yet another untried dev plan"

Tiggs, please... while i appreaciate the position you're in your level of control, and that you don't secretly get off on causing pain or frustration, you have to realize there are just some things you can't sugarcoat with some tightly controled mouthpiece-speak. Smuggler changes just aren't nearly as important or nessesary for making this game "complete" as they once seemed to be, and as a result continue to be push-offable whenever the monthly any new idea or change of direction comes up.

As for getting new people in game, or broadening the player base, well, from where I sit I've seen some new players show up and some old ones come back, but how short lived will their experience be? When most of the old players are only back because of station access and there just isn't a game or a plan that new players coming into the game can look to for progress or hope?

I dunno, from where I sit theres a lot more of this:
http://www.gamepro.com/gamepro/domestic/games/features/40849.shtml

and this:
http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/5_Reasons_Why_Star_Wars_Galaxies_Is_Not_Worth_Your_Time_93883.asp

and these:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=smuggler&message.id=214909
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=smuggler&message.id=214930
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=smuggler&message.id=214229
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=smuggler&message.id=209589

that's been generated lately and well, I don't know what its gonna take to turn it around, but, well, I'll know it when I see it, and I ain't seeing it.

Good luck though... one thing we all share I think is that we're pulling for the future of this game to be a good one.

SOE has no respect for you as customers, never has and likely never will. For them to even think that they do is an insult to our intelligence.

The entire team cares very much about you the customers and the game. The game is constantly evolving and we need to focus our energy on bug fixes and making the game more fun for a wider audience. That includes the present audience in that. We want to have more players for you to play with and I am sure you want that also. With this comes reducing the scope of our publishes so that we can make sure that publishes are cleaner. This doesn't mean that there won't be changes to professions or other content, it just means that bigger things are pushed out and given the time to be worked on that they deserve.

I think you've forgotten who you're talking to Tiggs. Everytime Smuggler is supposed to be in the pipeline, something else comes up. Now we've seen every aspect of Jedi overhauled 3 times and we're still waiting on something THAT WAS SAID TO BE A CONCERN AT LAUNCH!!!
You say you care about the customers, I say once and for all prove it. Prove that you actually give a crap by giving us the profession we should have had 2 freakin years ago.
Don't wait until 2 years after launch to tell us that bugs are now a priority and everything else will take lesser importance.
Don't forget you've got other professions that STILL need revamped.
Don't forget Smuggler and non combat professions were supposed to get their "revamps" immediately following the CU and you're STILL focusing on BH/Jedi interaction.
Don't forget we were told that our content was SUPPOSED to be almost done.
Don't forget that you have mods running around here deleting posts and banning players for discussing GAME issues while you allow players to openly troll and flame.
Lastly, but most importantly, it's time you realise that you're not dealing with a bunch of children. Many of us are accomplished adults who know how things work. We remember the important things. We expect people to hold true to their word just like we hold true to our monthly payments. It's time to put away the BS and lay all the cards out. If you want players to stick around, you're gonna have to do this. Doublespeak and attempted kowtowing smell like the BS it is everytime.
Don't forget Tiggs, because if you haven't learned by now, you can be damn sure we won't forget.

Well... I no longer even have plans to go smuggler with my alt.

And yet still... I'm out.

I'll play a bit today and see if I change my mind but I doubt it. The complete lack of respect for the playerbase particularly smugglers (though not remotely exclusive to them) is sickening. The only thing SOE is selling is essentially Customer Service, but when SOE 'services' their customers it brings to mind that time I visited a farm and witnessed a Stud 'Servicing' a mare.

By that I meant to say they're @#$%ing us up the @#$.

Later.

I aim to misbehave!

Thank you for clarifying Tiggs, very much appreciated!

What you've described sounds like sound reasoning and speaking for myself at least, I'm glad that more of an emphasis will be placed on quality assurance rather than the speed of which things go in.

Well i asked it in the other thread.. and i will ask again..

Does this audience include non-jedi and non-bh? So far i ve seen alot of changes for Jedi and BH.. and all we got was measly slice fix and that we can add Loot H0 to our current titles Drug Dealer and Slice Monkey. I m sorry.. i forgot that scary Jawa Junk dealer mini game.

How could i forget the nerfs for FD.. or even the concussion shot nerf. i dont mean the perma root. But a daze/mez that you cant reaply for a certain amount of timeis USELESS.

*falls over dead*

That clarified it for you? They POSTPONED it then claimed that it really wasn't 'postponed' though for the life of me I have no other idea what we should call it.

What utter dribble. They've had over TWO FREAKING YEARS.

But you're rid of me tomorrow Tiggs, I'm sure SOE will be thankful of that.

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Two years of "Soon"(TM), a harsh bunch of lies.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie"

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Dancers can't smuggle and neither can I.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie."

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Why are there Jedi, I don't know why.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie."

I doubt I'll see you in-game again then, Wraith, so I'll see you around. Had a blast screwing around on Kashyyyk with you and Aphonic.

No promises were made, but then if we to ever meet I'd hope Tiggs would buy me a drink anyway.. given my near alcaholic state and her friendly nature and all .

Anyway, I do think it's a good move, especially if it means more time is spent developing rather than bug fixing/hunting down on live.

Of course we're still in the dark on what's happening specifically development wise, which I think is a shame.

This is laughable.

Read it and weep, SWG staff, we don't put up with the bullcrap any longer. No doubt there has to have been close to a hundred letters and emails sent to more than a dozen video game magazine and media organizations about the sad...sad state of your "communication" and interaction with the player base. You getting a few phone calls or emails regarding this?

Shouldn't you rather apply for the Politician Correspondent job WES??

I think some outrage from you would be in order.
You posted earlier that you know nothing about the plans.
That we don't is bad enough. But you?

We are talking about a revamp that is done already (or so they say)

You shouldnt be diplomatic.
Not now.

I've said my piece on this, loud and clear, just not in a place you can view.

Edit: Additionally, it is always my aim to be diplomatic: "Using or marked by tact and sensitivity in dealing with others", so that informed discussion can take place rather than anyone taking offence and clouding an issue. I suspect you mean that I have been spin doctoring, which I do not believe to be the case. Tiggs can only present us with the information that has been aOK'd to be past on, which seems to be very little.

I for one would not like to be in the situation she is in, receiving the brunt of our frustrations when she herself has very little to do with what gets developed and how. I'm not saying don't be pissed off, or don't be dispondent about the fact there seems to be yet another delay, just don't shoot the messenger.
