After 4 days of finding no containters I just went and spent the 100k on containers in the end, the only trouble I'm having now is finding molecular clamps, I can't find a vendor, and I don't even know what they are listed under on the bazaar 
Seems to me that the smuggler is an expensive one to start, but I'm hoping the rewards will be worth it, speculate to accumulate as they say

They are under tools in the bazaar, although you'll probably get better rates looking under misc->factory crates and buying crates of them.

I just picked up smuggler yesterday and I must say that I am having fun with it (though the unarmed grind was a pain). However right now I am averaging slightly less than 50% on opening containers or breaking the locks. Is this normal. Can I increase my changes with a clamp? Does where the slicing happens have anything to do with the chances of losing a slice. Just a newbie question

Yesuse some clamps you will never fail unless you read the screen wrong.

Using Mol Clamps give you 100% accuracy as long as you read what it tells you to slice first.
Slicing is completely random so it doesn't matter where you slice, what you are slicing, the quality of your tools and so forth.

I went out and got 10k for a crate of 25 clamps and I was back up to 100% of my slices going through thanks guys I am not happly slicing away.

Ok Im a New Smuggler and Very excited, but Im curious how do you find Containers to slice? Ive looked on the bazaar and all over. I know you can go out hunting and hope to get a locked container, but what else can I do.....
Im in no hurry, so Im not trying to grind... but I would like to at least slice more and more and more...!

I'm suprised you can't find any on the bazaar. I bought loads from the bazaar in Theed. They usually go for about 5 or 6k.
You should try loot vendors if you don't have any luck in Theed.

I still urge to stab people right in the eyes who sell those on their own vendors for 10k and more. ARRRRGGHHH!

Look in the Generic Items section of MISC group. There should be tons of containers.....unless the with the new smuggler documents has people buying them all up, heh.

Try the Pirate Hideout on Naboo...the magseal containers spawn a lot oflocked containers. Most of the magseal s are unlocked so you can just loot them.

The other option is to stand in coronet/mos eisley/populated area and shout that you're slicing containers for free. I had a number of people who were very kind and came to find me just to bring me containers.
SinceI mastered smuggler, I now tell people to go find a novice who will slice for free. I've found that my price of 5k/container is outrageous enough that no one will pay me to open containers now. Just doing my part to help out other smugglers.
