Thread: Concerns about slicing.

I would also like to seed these items out that way, although I don't know how a delicate trigger assembly would survive a week inside a Gorax or Krayt stomach.

Can I ask a simple question, what do looting Gorex, Blacksuns, or any other "difficult" thing you want to add to the list (ie Kryats)have to do with SMUGGLING?
We are SMUGGLERS! We should have to SMUGGLE to get this items. I'm not a theif!
I guess I just don't understand what this has to do with smuggling? Was Han Solo running around killing Kraytes or robbing dead NPCs to get stuff to slice peoples weapons?
Sorry, but this is very disappointing. Another rushed out approach that falls WAY short of what you sold us last year.

GM, I love you, have my babies.
Guys, don't forget, if they're that rare, think about how much those slices will cost
It's not all about virtual money to everybody that "smuggles". I have enough cash to last until the servers quit or the second comeing of christ, whichever comes first. I like the idea of different components for certain slices or being able to slice a certian part, I think they should all be craftable. Certian parts at master artisan, certian parts at master WS, certian parts at AS, and certian parts only a smuggler can make with quality of the resource counting towards the quality of the component WHICH counts towards the quality of the slice.
If you've got all that money then buying them's not an issue for you is it?
And really, if the crafters start making this stuff, then there goes immersion, so much for illegal modifications, because there sure won't be any penalties for WS's making these illegal components...

Couldnt we just make it so any player can repair a weapon break? They just unequip, and use the radial menu to unjam the sucker?
Sounds like it may be a little too late for going back in that direction...

That would be a great Idea for a temporary fix until the person can get back to a smuggler. I'm sure that most people in the Galaxy in an Elite profession can tune their own weapon somewhat.

Well, I applaud you for seeing that the "broken" syste was not working, though instead of scrapping it one would think you would just get it to work correctly, but I guess since that cannot be done in 2 days out the window it goes.
Now you are creating a system whereaSmuggler profession(that cannot really defend itself) is going to have to go the the DWB and Avatar to get stuff to slice people weapons and armor.
How will this work in reality?
Jedi will hoard the loot and / or the combat profession will just loot theire own and we will be forced to BUY them or do the slice for free as they provide the components!
What happened to the "Smuggler based missions that will supply the needed equipment for slicing"?
Are you guys going to follow through on any of the stuff you promised us? We've been waint 2 years for this revamp and you just gave all the looting activing to non Smugglers, how is that a revamp?

Ok, this issue seems to beangering more people, and being more contraversial than the last proposed system. If this continues, is there going to be a plan C?
*nods* I hope there is a Plan C. How about breaking apart "Junk" loot for components

Smuggler content:
- Looted item enhancers (sugestions)
1. Hide mods. Make item otherwise plain looking to anyone other then a smuggler.
2. Allow a smuggler to "prep" a looteditem enhancer. i.e. "tunning" thus creating chance for exceptional enhancer.
3. Permit Smugglers to reverse engineer thus being able to create limited use schematics or give items limited uses.
I think all you people worried about looting need to read Veela's post Lottery Loot - to put it simply - dont group unless its a Lottery Loot group.
Nuff said.
