Thread: When (IF) smuggler bounties are introduced how will you change your template and why?

I was thinking the same thing Yimaz. I didn't know that once you got padawan you couldn't drop it though.
I hadn't decided if Tevin was gonna go through with his Jedi trainning but I will unlock.
I had thought to make the 2nd character a TKM/Master Weaponsmith so's I could cash in. But then I found that I kinda like PvP and thought about making a BH.
That idea gave birth to Wasodo, who I have been playing recently. It's kinda fun 'cause I don't know ANYONE on Starsider- I just kinda log on and jump into space but once I get back to leveling up BH again I will truly be able to play the loner hunter who kills for money.
So that brings me back to what I would do with a 2nd character if the bounties come around.
I will either go
BH 3040
Smug 0040
Master Pistols
or
BH 3040
TKM
Commando 0040
It's tempting to do the Pistol King: Master pistols, BH 3040, Smuggler 0040 but EVERYONE will be doing that.
are they REALLY gonna change spices and buffs? Where'd ya'll read that?

Well if smuggler bounties come I will be dropping, there will be no way a master smuggler will be able to compete with a BH. We are a hybrid class that contains non combat areas where BH is a complete combat hybrid
Currently BH's ignore higher level Jedi and concentrate on the weak paddy's. So for the easy credit they will turn to us full time.
You know, GreenMarine, the dev, said that he is designing two kinds of smuggling missions. One is low risk/low reward. The other is high risk/high reward. Stick to the low risk missions and you won't have a problem. If you wanna play with the big boys/girls, you're gonna have to stick your neck out. And we all know there is no worse of a risk than to have a gank squad personally come after you, spit on your corpse, then say, "I PWNED YOU NOOBIE!!!!!".
That is just the way things are...

If I change it, I'll drop the commando and master marksman for something more than the ability to throw big grenades.

Well one thing they have not even done is define what is even a good reason for BH's to even hunt smugglers
Jedi's are on the boards to gate their progress and Jedi's do have the ability to get to a point where they can handle themselves against a BH. Also the profession itself is outlawed.
The only reason for smugglers to get on the boards is if they fail to satisfy their customer (Jabba for example) or by slicing (the empire).
The empire despises BH's and only used them when they had no other recourse.
The CU is not adding much us except spices.
The problem is we spend a lot of skill points to be a hybrid service/combat/crafting class so we really cannot compete against BH's solo. There is also no reason to gate a class that has a dwindelling population. Smugglers are rarer that Jedi already lol
I will end up just being another method to grieve from everything I have read and will just make smugglers more non existant than they already are.
You need to remember the empire only used BH's under extreme circumstances where they would admit they could not do the jobthemselves. And crime lords are ul;timately businessmen that would rather have you make it up to them and only place a bounty if it was absolutely necessary.
Although the RP aspect of it may sound fun, we are also constrained by game mechanics.
