I'm currently a Master Smuggler/Master Commando, and so far it works pretty well. A player in composite armor without buffs I can take out in one hit with my flamer; if they have buffs it's usually two hits... if that. 13-14k damage.

The way I see it, if smugglin' becomes a PvP thing I might have to start craftin'. Right now I do a lot of PvE stuff with pistol, but I also do surveying and scout. My current template allows me to be useful to my PA in a lot of different ways. They appeciate it and I like to do different things.

If I gotta start twinkin' out just to smuggle at the highest level, might have to stop smugglin'. I'm not the type to out twink a master twink.

latest documenation that I have been hearing from some sandbox people is that talk is doc buffs gonna be capped at 1k, although they still experimenting with this number.

Statements like this just cause firestorms and are the reason the dev's are sitting on all the information. Its best not to state specific numbers because those are not decided yet. The specifics are still in the air as to how much buffs shall actually hit for. No one shall know for sure to even leak the information before the alpha server starts then the beta server. Everyone's heard rumours so far as to what the combat balance entails. Its the only thing to talk of and hope for in the game at the moment. The speculation is high and its hard to discern what is legit and what is not. But using past history, logic and tidbits we gather from correspondants we can figure a lot of it out. We can't figure out exact numbers as of yet though.

Well, to be perfectly honest, it depends on a few things. I kno wits a stretch to beleive that anything 'proposed' revamp I or anyone else writes on these forums, I beleive the more I pretend and promote what I say as the way its going to be, then it has a better chance to actually be that. That being said, with this system I have created (have used ideas from other people though with complete respect towards them), I honestly have no idea what I would do lol. There so many options its not even funny. You guys should check it out too!

Regarding your system. Its far far too complex to ever be coded into this game. Look at the supposed most complex set of rules when the game launched. Jedi were supposedly unlocked through actions and things you did that were tracked. People believed in not swearing, doing literally every menial quest and the system turned out to be just mastering professions. They maintain a level of simplicity on everything as anything that gets extremely complex just leads to bugs and exploits we forum masters dig up.

I dont think it is too complex. The only thing that may be too complex is combat, which by all means, Ill admit isnt perfect, but Ill also take the liberty to say that I think its a better proposition than anything Ive read so far. That wasnt my main concern however. My main concern was how we actually advance in our Profession progression. The actual coding isnt as hard as what it seems. Its no harder than what we have now, except that it actually works for the players instead of against them. I beleive it only seemsTOO complex because a) it is complex, butnot to the degree of too complex for this gameb) reading it makes it sound more complex because I went into complete discriptions, c) because its something that covers the entire playing field.

I think that when people come on these forums and try to present ideas that 'revamp' something, they arent doing anything but shifting a few numbers and maybe adding a skill or two. They think thats going to solve it. Im not saying my proposition is the answer to end all questions, but I beleive if were going to revamp something, then we need to REVAMP it. Not figure out figure out different modifiers we can use.

What in particular is too complex? The fact that every choice you make in your Profession progression actually means something? Or that its more complex than this game is right now, therefore its too complex? There really is no complexity to it in my opinion. Thats the beauty of it. At least, theres no more complexity to it than the game has right now. Its set up the exact same way, but gives you the ability to choose instead of be the same old, fresh off the conveyor belt that every other player has been off of.

Tell me, whats too complex? I wrote it for discussion. Might as well tell me so I can figure out something more. I mean, we dont have anything better to do on these forums.

Just day dreamin' here-

But I think I might like to try:

Master Brawler

Master Pistols

Master TKM

Smuggler 0030

I would do this for the intimidate specials and to be able to throw a quick slap down on any unwelcomed, surprise visits. I lose out on last ditch but a couple of versions of knock downs at your side can't be half bad either.

OR

Master Brawler

Master Rifles

Master Swords

Smuggler0300

This would be to focus on a BHs mind bar while I'm running away. This would look real good on a Wookie- maybe if I unlock I will go this route.

Well Im FS and dont want a Jedi but I do want the 2nd slot (for a BH). As it stands I will have to get to Padawan before I can open the slot so Im going to master FS combat prowess and 2 lines of enhanced reflexes. Im dropping some pistol for this so I will still be a master smuggler and master TK (thug temp, lol) with a little pistol. Im hoping Combat Prowess will take my TK skills over the top because once I hit padawan Im stuck and cant drop it. While I wont advance into jedi I will have some FS skills, with luck BH's will fear me.

I was thinking the same thing Yimaz. I didn't know that once you got padawan you couldn't drop it though.

I hadn't decided if Tevin was gonna go through with his Jedi trainning but I will unlock.

I had thought to make the 2nd character a TKM/Master Weaponsmith so's I could cash in. But then I found that I kinda like PvP and thought about making a BH.

That idea gave birth to Wasodo, who I have been playing recently. It's kinda fun 'cause I don't know ANYONE on Starsider- I just kinda log on and jump into space but once I get back to leveling up BH again I will truly be able to play the loner hunter who kills for money.

So that brings me back to what I would do with a 2nd character if the bounties come around.

I will either go

BH 3040

Smug 0040

Master Pistols

or

BH 3040

TKM

Commando 0040

It's tempting to do the Pistol King: Master pistols, BH 3040, Smuggler 0040 but EVERYONE will be doing that.

are they REALLY gonna change spices and buffs? Where'd ya'll read that?
