Here is one sure way of NEVER getting any complaints ( I didn't invent the scheme and sure am sad I cannot recall who gave me the idea for proper credits):

...Gets a fair price all of the time and is surprised how generous poeple get with such a scheme.

Hey, guess what, without the rest of us..... this game would not exsist. We all pay SOE money. Every month, just like you. We all have an equal right to fun playing the game. We don't need to be griefed because the smugglers are on some powertrip with prices.... if we can't afford your prices, we have to go out and try to get more... and end up dying alot in the process, because we can't get all the armor on that we need to..... and don't point to buffs, those NOOBS I was talking about can't afford buffs... they saved every penny for some time, just to get that set of armor one piece at a time. We where ALL there at one point... and to alienate them is just wrong. It shows no appreciation towards those who helped you when u where a noob.
And if you think that if me, or smugglers I know, keep charging 3k, or even just 4k.... to undercut you, that they would be lined up for YOU to do it? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Lets see here.... get something sliced for 3k by master, or for 5k by master.... same slice..... let me see here.... HMMMM?? Get a clue.
Well lets go over this part by part shall we.
I Have been a Master Smuggler since the end of the first month. SO its not like im doing this on the fly, and have watched the prices of all things go up as demand goes up.
1. Who said I charge that much to Newbies. I only slice for people that know my by word of mouth and that I have been slicing for for the last year. Yes I get the occasional tell and if its a normal player I charge tehm, If its obviously a Newbie or they bring me a CDEF do you relaly think im going to charge them 10k? I have hunted newbies down and sliced their gear for free, I have paid for them to get buffs or given them free buffs with my doc. As said before the people I deal with are long time customers so they know the prices. And I have not seen a set up Ubese armor that someoen has taken to me to slice in forever, 99.9% of the stuff i slice is Composite and high end stuff at that so the 600K+ is right. First thing i do when someonen askes me to slice something before i even tell them a price I ask them what it is first. I rarly deal with newbies though.
2. Yea I charge 10k for a Weapon, but it also says in my Bio that I am Neg. for more then one weapon. people can always be talked down thats why its called Haggling. But someone telling me I am too high and that I make them sick becasue of my price , Guess what the price just went up.
Hey Guess what ....Equal fun in the game does not require sliced armor and weapons or buffs, those are what you call luxuries, I cant afford a frigging Porshe but do I go and **edit** at them they are charging too much becasue I cant afford it. You see yes I was a Newbie once, and didnt even use armor for the first 9 months of play, buffs hardly ever used em, and gee I got by.
And yes I have had people come to me to pay 10k for a slice becasue i do business with them all the time over someone shouting slicing weapons 3K in the star port.
And for the Low Post comment is was ment like this. You say you been playing for a long time yet you have jsut registered on teh forums and have now 9 posts to your name. What I am saying is you Obvously have not made any real Contributions to the forums but have spend your meager post count to come here and b|tch and threatedn the Smuggler community with a Boycott. Again Good luck with that one. Bahahahaha

This is why you all complain you don't see any Master Smugglers in the game, they are all here griping about prices. I have posted n this a few times, and not goingto get dragged into it again. Have fun.

I charge 5K per slice and, given the current inflation, I actually think that's kind of low--especially given that I can regularly make more per hour running missions than I can sitting around slicing. We can't produce 1000 slices and stick them on a vendor--you're paying for our time here. And once we've crawled up to master, that time's fairly valuable. If you really think we're charging so much, then go ahead, make good on your threat and get up to master smuggler. The joy I would take in seeing you suffer like we have since launch would be so perverse as to border on the sociopathic.
Kidding. A little. I honestly enjoy slicing for people, and it always makes me smile when I get someone that 30%+ damage, or when I turn some newbie's DL44 into something a little less awful. But I'm not about to feel guilty charging 5 or 8 or 10K for a service you only need once in a weapon's lifetime.

I'm one of the ones that thinks the Doc buff argument is nonsense (and I'm a smuggler and have never been a doc). Doc's have to look for good resources with good stats. They have a ton of sub components and a lot of thier stuff has to be harvested from creatures. As a smuggler I can put a mineral harvester down pretty much anywhere and get what I need. Then you have factory runs. I can slice a gun with 3 factory runs (knives, clamps, wuks) for a full set of buffs it takes a doc about24 factory runs (3 sub components per buff pack 6 buff packs=18 then the 6 final buff packs=24). All that has to be figured into the cost of the buff.
Then there is the issue of value. If I'm going into a fight and I only have 10k will I use that for buffs or to get my weapon sliced? Which will help me more? I mean I can get buffed put on my unsliced armor and use my unsliced weapons and make 30k doing 1 mission. I just made money off that buff in about 10minutes. That buff allows me to make millions that I couldn't make without it. A slice just doesn't have that value
That being said, I have gotten sick of clogging my inventory with clamps, knives, wuks and auk so I've started charging 10k per item. Most people tell me no way, and I'm cool with that because I don't really want to do it anyway.

Are you high on crack? We have a right to charge what ever we want, we are the underbelly of the galaxy if you dont like it dont get your equipment sliced! Also, Doc buffs last 3hrs our slice's last for the life of the weapon/armor and if you dont think a 30% or higher slice is worth 10k on a weapon that costs 40k or armor that costs 80k then your a fool.

It used to be 3k per slice for the longest while... for the last 2 months..... then ALL THE SUDDEN I start seeing 5k-10 being asked. **edit** IS THAT? Some smuggler tried to justify that by saying doc's raised their price from 10k to 12k. Um, am I the only one who passed math? 2k is not 2k. when going from 10k to 12k, thats a 20% increase only. GOING FROM 3K to 5k is a 60% INCREASE!!!!!! and going from 3k to 10k is a 233% increase!!!! So because other professions are raising thier prices 20% smugglers think they should be allowed to raise thiers 3 or more times of what everyone is raising it? I THINK NOT.
So, my point is, STOP the crazy price hikes.... or I will get everyone i know to undercutt/boycott those who are doign it. And they will get everyone THEY know to also... and those people will get everyone THEY know to. Get the picture? Don't think its gonna be just me and like the 30+ people i know. It will grow. All i ask is FAIR prices. you guys want to start charging 3500-4000? fine. 5k + is just too much... if not outrageous.

I've charged 7k per slice for quite a while now. Rarely do I get a complaint. When I do I simply remind them whta I'm doing is ILLEGAL !!! If they want my services & time, it's gonna cost them. I also do the gripe = price hike thingy .. lol ... it's more fun to do it with 1k increments .. they don't even realize your raising the $$ until you hit 9k-10k .. lol
You are not required to have "illegal goods", so bugger-off and crawl back into the oooze you came out of !
