Now to the topic I've been charging 100 credits per %, 30-35 double credits for weapons, 40-45 double credits for armor. I think that's damn cheap considering the Doc Buff argument. I'm not in need of the cash so much (but every bit helps) so I'll go to a flat % rate for all. If they don't like it they can go elsewhere I don't need the cash that badly.
Now I charge 8k per slice...this issue has been done to death. Charge what works for you.

If you're getting upset that people are charging less money for a slice than you want them to, there's only one reason I can think of for that:
You're getting people complaining to you that you're charging too much money.
Therefore, the only reason you want people to raise their prices on slicing is so you stop getting complaints and make more money.
I don't care what you charge for slicing. Charge 1 credit per slice. Charge 100k credits per slice. My price will stay my price until I see fit to raise and/or lower it.

I charge 5k, after I used to charge roughly 1k per slice. I still don't seem to make a whole lot and I have been thinking of upping my price again. But I haven't yet. I get a lot of people with large orders, like 20 pieces or so, and when I tell them it'll be 5k per piece, they want a discount because of all the pieces. I see where they're coming from, but they don't realize that Smugglers have fees to pay as well... resources, AUKs, WUKs, clamps (if you buy them), structure maintaince, "fun money" and whatever else you may need your credits for.
If I see a newbie come up, I'll usually slice for free.

I charge 200cr per % for weapons and 5k per armour piece, some people don't like it but thats their choice - I just tell them where they can go. It does amaze me that they have the nerve to complain when they quite happily pay 10k+ for a doc buff. Some smugglers on Starsider charge less but again that's their choice if they want to downgrade their trade.

actually, I'm getting kinda PISSED OFF with the way pricing has been going for smugglers lately! SOME ARE CHARGING 10K PER SLICE! That's friggin robbery. Doc's charge that much, maybe a bit more, cause the stuff they have to buy for the buffs they do cost them 8k or so.... so charging 10-12k is only making them 2-4k each. Sure they make that every min or so if business is good, but for smugglers to try to charge the same for slicing it OUTRAGOUS.
THIS HAS TO STOP. If it does not, I WILL start a boycott movement towards slicers. I'll get slicing and do it all myself.... and get everyone else to DROP THOSE who are trying to charge offensvie prices so they will have NO business. I'm dead serious.
It used to be 3k per slice for the longest while... for the last 2 months..... then ALL THE SUDDEN I start seeing 5k-10 being asked. **edit** IS THAT? Some smuggler tried to justify that by saying doc's raised their price from 10k to 12k. Um, am I the only one who passed math? 2k is not 2k. when going from 10k to 12k, thats a 20% increase only. GOING FROM 3K to 5k is a 60% INCREASE!!!!!! and going from 3k to 10k is a 233% increase!!!! So because other professions are raising thier prices 20% smugglers think they should be allowed to raise thiers 3 or more times of what everyone is raising it? I THINK NOT.
So, my point is, STOP the crazy price hikes.... or I will get everyone i know to undercutt/boycott those who are doign it. And they will get everyone THEY know to also... and those people will get everyone THEY know to. Get the picture? Don't think its gonna be just me and like the 30+ people i know. It will grow. All i ask is FAIR prices. you guys want to start charging 3500-4000? fine. 5k + is just too much... if not outrageous.

Glimmerstar, noone is forcing you to pay any amount of money you don't see fit - if you don't like a particular Smuggler's prices then go ask another one it's not rocket science. Go ahead with your lone crusade it won't affect noone in the slightest. I for one won't lower my prices, if they don't like it then they can lump it - simple.
Carry on moaning about paying hardly anything for a PERMANENT increase in your weapons stats, what a con that is eh?

Know haw many shuttles I have missed because of a guy like you asking for a slice for 1 stinking gun?
Docs I know charge 15-20K per buffs, and most of them buy them off a vendor, Since I have a doctor Alt I have done it before. I can buy a full set of buffs for 80k thats about 28 per stack so what is 28xeven just 10k thats 280k That = a 200k Profit. And lets not even talk about the ones charging 15-20k and have lines going out the star port.
Perhaps you need to start learning a thing or two before you start coming in here and threatening a bopycott that will get you laughed at more then anything else. You go ahead and spend the Skill points to be a Smuggler, lets see how you enjoy the constitany bothers from people like you that **edit** about 3k being too much or how bout landing in a city and before you even loading having 5 tells from people wanting slices. No one is forcing you to ILLEGALLY PERMINATLY CHANGE your gun, so dont get it sliced, no sweat off my eggs.
Just stop your Whining and retarted thoughts about some Super server Boycott. Cuz it aint going to happen. for ever 1 person you get I got 20 people lined up to pay me 10k per slice.

oh yea well I charge 45k per set of armor and have had perhaps 1 person tell me it was too high. Most of them payed 600k+ for the armor and another 45k for soem slices is not going to bother them.

First of all 600k+? where in gods name do you get that? That would be high end armor my friend. 80% kinetic, 70%+ base usually... maybe just 80% kin, 60% base... depending on who you get it from. You think that EVERYONE, including noobs.... paid 600k + for armor? are you insane? Personally, i have a set of armor that I paid maybe around 400k for.... and it has 80% kinetic, 60% base roughly, and a very low encumbrance. But that's just me. Some dude trying to get some low end ubese to fit shouldn't have to pay outragous amounts of money just to do that.... to a noob, 45k is ALOT. Now im not saying 45k is outragous.... that's 5k per piece, and while I think thats still too high it's NOT highway robbery. 10k per piece IS. And if you go ahead and say its not, GOOD LUCK with that. Im sick of everyone trying to justify overcharging people. You exploit them. This is a game, your suppose to have fun, and THEY are suppose to have fun too. People like you make me sick, because you could give a rats ass if everyone else is having a horrible time, as long as you are having fun.
Hey, guess what, without the rest of us..... this game would not exsist. We all pay SOE money. Every month, just like you. We all have an equal right to fun playing the game. We don't need to be griefed because the smugglers are on some powertrip with prices.... if we can't afford your prices, we have to go out and try to get more... and end up dying alot in the process, because we can't get all the armor on that we need to..... and don't point to buffs, those NOOBS I was talking about can't afford buffs... they saved every penny for some time, just to get that set of armor one piece at a time. We where ALL there at one point... and to alienate them is just wrong. It shows no appreciation towards those who helped you when u where a noob.
And if you think that if me, or smugglers I know, keep charging 3k, or even just 4k.... to undercut you, that they would be lined up for YOU to do it? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Lets see here.... get something sliced for 3k by master, or for 5k by master.... same slice..... let me see here.... HMMMM?? Get a clue.

Also if the highest u guys where charging was 5k I'd gripe about it for awhile and just pay it.... but it's NOT. You guys are going on a pricing rampage. I mean 10k?

And I never said docs dont overcharge.... but its not nearly as bad as what im seeing now with smugglers.

200 credits per % here, I get only a few compalints a day and I think those people would complain if i did 100 creds per point. Think of the economy atm, people are running around soloing 31K missions on dant, 5K for a slice is nothing in comparison.
