SWG Vault: Can you tell us when EXACTLY we will see the full Smuggler Revamp? And if you can't tell us, can you please tell us why?
Julio Torres: We are aware and sensitive to the fact that Smugglers need content to enjoy. We are currently working on this, and players should be able to enjoy the new content in November.

OK. Lets play grammar teacher and pull this apart to see what the words say.
The first sentence is fairly straight forward, except for the part about it being a load of crap.
It means they know we want content.
The second sentence is actually two sentences combined.
We are currently working on this. -- first part
what is "this"? for all we know he was holding a box for the next expansion, or a new action figure.
And players should be able to enjoy the new content in November. - second part
Second part doesn't say a thing about Smugglers specifically.
My thoughts, It's typical producer doubletalk and wordspin.

3. And I'll tell you this; LucasArts/SOE better not force Smugglers to pay for an expansion in order to be able to friggin' smuggle.

Not sure. I *think* that anyone that hasn't purchased RotW can still do the non-Kashyyyk quests. So it stands to reason that if the revamp is even close to the concept thread any Smuggler can run missions that don't involve going to the new planet.
But if SOE insists that you have the expansion to smuggle, you're still not being forced right? You can buy your way to functionality or just keep the status quo. Choose your bitter pill at that point.
Nope, you don't have RotW you don't do the quests.

It isn't a revamp we just get to play with the same content everyone else does with the new expansion.
Yup, going to cast my vote in on this as well. After reading the post myself, it is CLEAR this the meaning. And hey, if I'm wrong, I will be happy. Seriously.
In which case however, it was a seriously misleading answer to a question that was very specifically about the Smuggler Revamp.
Not that getting misleading answers from the Devs would be anything out of the ordinary, mind you.

Anyone want to take bets?
I'd also lay money on the fact that RotW will be a required part for the ToOW, so if they do force us to buy this to get Smuggler content, then we will be forced to buy RotW too.

Some of the missions from RotW may be doable if you haven't bought it, but any that start on Kashyyyk are obviously out.
Though I can't get the mission from Boba Fett even though I've finished Jabba's quests.
He tells me about the Black Sun, but there's another option about being partners but all he will say to me is 'you better leave now', tried asking at least 5 times.
As I said in a post on the pilot forums:
What was said can be taken two ways:
That there will be real Smuggler content in November.
Or
That we get to play the new content in the expansion, same as everyone else.
Though it is worded slightly to favor the second interpretation, I'll believe it when I see it.
If there is actually true smuggler content in the expansion, that's still a crock 'o fecal matter.
Promising Smugglers a revamp for two years then making us buy an expansion to get it is lower than assaulting old people for their social security checks.
I couldn't care less about getting missions from a dead guy.
Forcing subscribers to pay for an expansion to make their chosen profession functional is wrong.
If they were just now adding a profession, it wouldn't be as bad, but not one that's been in game since launch.
If SOE/LA can't wrap their head around that, then they are way too far gone to deserve my money, and everyone elses for that matter.

Now, now... you should quote it correctly!"A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing "
Good point, i stand corrected. If im gonna pull a quote out of Macbeth, i may as well do it right.
