SWG Vault: Can you tell us when EXACTLY we will see the full Smuggler Revamp? And if you can't tell us, can you please tell us why?

Julio Torres: We are aware and sensitive to the fact that Smugglers need content to enjoy. We are currently working on this , and players should be able to enjoy the new content in November.

I believe that this can be interpreted intwo ways:

1) We are working on Smuggler content and Smuggler players should be able to enjoy their new Smuggler content in November

2) We realize Smugglers need content. We are working on content but it's not necessarilySmuggler content. However we believe that they should be able to enjoy this new (non-smuggling)content in November.

Actually, I believe that option 1 is more likely. However, the "should" qualifier in the second sentence leadsme to believe that Smuggling content is a goal for November but not high priority andcould be a causality if they experience design delays.

If option 2 is correct it could include the tag line "...Smugglers will enjoy it just as much as Squad Leaders and Droid Engineers will."

yeah, the interviewer was pissed that Torres took the oppertunity to hawk TOW at almost every question. I imagine if Torres agrees to answer more questions it won't be nice for him

SWG Vault: Communication from the developers has been irregular since Fan Fest. Can we expect a return to more open and consistent communication in the future?

Julio Torres: I do agree that we need to improve our communication with our player base. In essence, SWG is the players' game, and we must respond to concerns players have. We will make an effort to improve this communication moving forward.

How many times has this been said?
Has to be close to as many times we've been told we'll get a Smuggler revamp.
Yet they still don't listen to the thousands of good suggestions given here on the forums.

I'll believe the new Smuggler content when I see it.
On a live server.
With no bugs.
(Ok, I'll settle for very few bugs)

SWG Vault: When will the FRS (Including the Knight Trials) be brought back to live?

Julio Torres: We realize that the Jedi system in SWG as a whole needs to be re-evaluated, so we are currently discussing options to address this. Our goal is to make the next implementation resonate to the needs of the game and the Jedi players. To do this, we really need to give it design time and play time, the exact date of when we can release a great FRS system. It’s not set yet, but we are currently working on it to get out to the public as soon as possible.

This doesn't sound really promising either.
Though if they actually did a decent amount of work on the regular professions first, it would be fine.

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

There are lies, Damn Lies, and Developers. Our only smuggling content is buying the Firefly DVD's. I'm glad that I am giving less money to LA now. I get to keep my account, get to keep their databases junked up, and go play other fun games. I would also like to extend a great big "Up yours!" to Julio for yet another "Q&A" session that didn't answer any of the Q's, because all the questions were answered by a big A.

I dont believe there is anything to say.

*says nothing*

"People are wondering what will happen to Afghanistan when were finished fighting there. Im sure there are plans to rebuild the country, and a lot of times with rebuilding comes a name change. These are some possible name changes the government has been mulling over: Halfghanistan, Pothole-istan, Jenniferanistan, @ssbackwardstan, Bye-bye-Talibanstan, @ss-Kicked-istan."

Now, now... you should quote it correctly!

"A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing "

As for the "I'll believe it when I see it on TC"? That is still no guarantee... remember that the first combat upgrade changes were tested on TC between Publishes 4 and 5... and it took a year and a half before we saw the CU anyhow.

I'm sure we all read between the lines and know he's referring to the expansion... but even if he did mean the Smuggler revamp... he didn't say WHICH November.

Hate to mention that if their idea of Smuggler Missions looks like the Slicing Revamp, then we've got a hard date for disappointment.
