A
I see no reason to screw ourselves and make what we need more hard to accuire. Ever do Doc or CM. Stuff is hard to get for both of them. I rahter not have to depend on others or waste SP that I can use to further my combat skills.

Put the experimentation on the AUKs and WUKs.. that way those that chose to be crafters can craft, and smugglers can just.... smuggle.
vote: B (with modification)

B
and we shouldn't have to rely on WS and AS for WUKs and AUKs but that's another topic...

A.
Unless B comes with the option of choosing which is sliced, this can only hurt us.

I have a master smuggler, and I would really like to see a way to get better slices. I can't count the number of sub 20% slices I get in a sitting. It's almost embaressing to charge when I flub a slice like that as a master. I would love to be able to experiment on my tools to increase my chances at above average to exceptional chances.
Thanks,

My vote would have to be A) experimentation is irrelevant, keep it that way.
Main reason? It's already painful enough to not be able to choose what aspect is sliced (at master, even). It's already painful enough to get exceptionally low results (at master even). And the track record for winding in experimentation where it wasn't before tends to be poor. If using good materials guaranteed I'd never get below 30%? Maybe it'd work. But the outcome I would expect would be 'Unless you use the best materials, and the best experimentation outcome, you'll never get above 20%' instead, and that doesn't help anyone.
Now, if they're planning to make a change like this AND roll in the ability to choose the aspect to be sliced into the master box, AND do it in a quasi sane way where it isn't pure crap unless you have th best, I might have to change my vote... but that stage hasn't been reached yet. As is, their math is already flaky. What they say is 30% doesn't actually add up if you do the math with a calculator.

I will vote B but only on this condition... We are given a surveying ability of say the first advancement in surveying, like 128m range.
Smuggler does not need to become 3 starter professions again. This would seriously hurt a smuggler's abilities to range in other skills if we have to get Artisan + Surveying up some just to find the resources we would need easier. As long as we don't have to take Artisan just to do half of our skills tree then I am all for experimentation tobe added to smuggler made objects.
