As a Master Smuggler / Master Pistoleer, I easily do as much (if not MORE) damage with my pre-nerf Krayt FWG using Low Blow / Last Ditch combo as I ever did using a flamethrower and /flamesingle2.

Well another nice thing about it is that it leaves an easy upgrade path to pretty much any other combat profession. Should I get bored of smuggler I can go full fledged Commando pretty easily, or fill out Pistoleer. Also, I couldjump into rifleman or carbineer (yeah, right). Even go BH by picking up some scout skills.

I'm planning on going Master Smuggler/TKM/Commando 0030 with my alt. Pure combat template. No medic unfortunately but I'm going to rely on my FD/Power Boost/FoW and armor to keep me alive. I've been dizzy/KD'ed and set on fire enough times that I want to turn the tables.

No it requires 261 SPs to do it.

I'm planning on going for:

Master Smuggler
Commando 0040
Pistoleer 0004
Artisan 0030

This leaves me with 17 skill points which I might spend on Novice Medic so that I can heal myself in the field.

I was never much of a supporter of 'dabbling' but I just came to realise that you have 250 skill points and it is best to use them anyway that you see fit.

This setup will be really nice for me as I want to get into PvP in a big way. I'm still going to operate my smuggler businesses through the Artisan skill line. I'm about to Master Merchant and with the current system, you can drop the whole profession and still keep your vendors so i'm really glad for that (though I feel sad for the dedicated Merchants)

This setup is pretty good because I will be able to use the launcher pistol at really great speeds and I can do the Low Blow/Panic Shot/Flame combo to cause a lot of hurt to my opponent

I'm very happy w/my template which it seems even though it doesn't seem to be very popular.

Master Smuggler

Master Pistoleer

Master marksman = went for this cause of the extra ranged def. plus the pistol accuracy and speed that u get. Only person better w/pistolis a BH w/ pistoleer

TKA - 0-0-0-3

I love being a Master Smuggler / Master Pistoleer.

May not be the most effective PvP template, but it definitely gets the job done in PvE.

my current plan is:

  • Master Smug of course

  • Pistoleer 0/4/0/4

  • Medic ?/?/?/? just gonna play with it to see if i really want/need it.

  • Whatever the devs name the profession that controls combat droids = the remainder.

I have an intrest in BE as well but going to take a break from any crafting for awhile.

I am almost done with my build which will offer me the best defense I can have as a smuggler I believe. Master Smuggler, Master TKA, Fencer 4,4,0,0 and medic 1,0,0,0 leaves you with 1 sp left over. you get better ranged and melee defense this way than you do from the triple master. Granted you lose your ranged abilities but I prefer melee anyways.

I was a master smuggler / master musician for the longest time, but the cantinas turned into afk-bot depots, with barely any interaction after the holos hit :/

My latest incarnation (which hasn't been mentioned here) is great for PvE...

Master Smuggler

Master CH

Pistoleer 0/0/0/4 (for the pistol speed mods and melee defense)

Heh, I currently have this same skillset. (Sure do miss Novice Medic while doing PvE, though.)

Last night I played for a stretch of a couple of hours, keeping busy the whole time with CH and Smuggler activities. Very nice change of pace from running destroy missions.

You also have the dabbling Smuggler to work with

I plan to Master Smuggler first, if nothing else for the badge since I didn't master it the first time I came to the profession, but I am looking at a final template as follows:

Smuggler 0-4-4-0 (What can I say, I like the ability to slice, and the extra percentage at Master is nice but not necessary for me)
Pistoleer 3-4-0-4 (I love dodge, and naturally I want the accuracy and speed mods)
Creature Handler 4-4-1-4 (This gets me to the max pet level 50 for some of the nicer pets I have seen, and a CH is great for PvE - on a side note I don't PvP much, so I really don't care if it is a great combo for that or not - someone who is interested in PvP probably would not enjoy this as much)
Novice Medic (I use a lot of stims, albeit mostly in group scenarios, but I prefer not using armor, and I don't always want to use spice or food, although I do maintain a minimum of one crate of muon just in case)

This leaves you with 1 Skill Point left over.
