I got your back, Ender. Weapon breakage fulfills the "risk vs reward" character that is supposed to define smugglers. Our combat specials like Last Ditch are VERY risk vs reward. Our smuggling system is supposed to be that way, and guess what? Modifying weapons illegaly is supposed to operate like that.
XStarbracer, many players are operating out of big misconceptions of breakage anyways. Tiggs said that a fully modified weapon might break once every few weeks, yet players CRY that it will break every single week. Hell, people probably think that once your weapon breaks, that it can never be fixed.
Without the risk, slicing becomes an integrated part into the very businesslike (and VERY unsmugglery) crafting system.
I hope you like being a weaponsmith's or armorsmith's alt or b*tch!

Well, this might be a solution: make repair kits craftable by smugglers that "reset" the slicing job to baseline un-sliced stats so that the gun/armor still functions until you can get to a smuggler to get it fixed properly. Make them fairly cheap to make and with multiple charges. Alternatively, since the usefulness of WUKs and AUKs are basically going away, you could use these for the same purpose.

So they cant be bothered to fix it so they remove it. No doubt to never be seen again. Typical.
So yet again there is no real risk to carrying sliced hardware. Time for the devs to up the risks for carrying contraband maybe. At least take them off the Vendors (To any WS/AS that might whine about that. Tough.)

Well they dumbed it down from the old In Concept thread and now they're removing more of it practically as fast as it gets to Test!
Anyone want to guess what will be left by the time it gets to Live?
And I just can't WAIT to see how our SMUGGLING content evaporates between now and whenever it actually gets to Live.
I'm a well hated Bh over eclipse ( just to stop the remarks about being a jedi when we don't agree with some people that think they own the smuggler profession). Wit hthe breakage system I wouldn't even consider slicing any weapon. Period. As someone with a smuggler alt char, the breakage meant less money for me, because, at least on my server, is easier to find a jedi than a smugller, what means that yes, I made considerable profit but slicing, even with the borked slices..

I'm guessing it will work as well as it does now with the same demand (ie none)
Either that or the devs say screw it and just delete the entire smuggler profession, give feign death to jedi and last ditch to bhs and leave it at that. ![]()
