I will be mighty pissed off if they cave in to those wimps who just want to farm ST's for faction, very pissed.

Smugglers, go voice your opinions!!! Tell them we want a law in place (that we can break)!!!

Damn right. Universe should be made up of loyal, law-abiding Imperial citizens, Rebel upstarts, and Smugglers to break everyone's laws.

Good news!

Hey, Wes, can you see if you can drop a line in the C-Forum or some feedback about getting these Storm Troopers programed to patrol strategically?

Such as around the main exit/entrance ways of cities (think the big exit near the parking garage next to the Coronet Starport) and heavily travelled paths? Also, maybe up the scans?

Could help us out a little bit

Sure thing

More damage, higher HAM, more Troopers, tuffer and more frequentscans, if they do all of that it might actually be a challenge when I kick the crap out of Storm Trooperswho seemthink its ok getting all up in my business. Oh and for any Imps reading this, I'm only transporting sweet little puppys to starving Trandoshan children on Dosh (they do need to eat after all)so back off!

*fingers crossed* here's hoping they get it right this time....

Nice work Nick, if it were not for your last few news updates my lazy arse would have missed them all together.

You said it - I'm real curious to see if being an Imperial Col. and Master Smuggler will still give me a free pass past the scans.

Perhaps given that most of the game is played by rebels the Devs want people to start forming groups to go into cities, as a precursor to the CU (where by all accounts grouping will once again be essential).

Or maybe the Devs are frustrated Imperials who just want to blast stuff up!

I would love for CorSecs, RSFs, and other local security forces to start performing scans on Imperials. I'd like it even more if they were beefed up like the devs are doing with the STs.

This should be an equal opportunity game. And I want my opportunity to have my ass handed to me to be equal to that of the Rebels.

Amen to that, CorSec doesn't like my Imperial behind anyway. What would really be cool is if, say, a beefed up CorSec captain tries to mess with me for 'transporting illegal goods.'
It would be even better if there was a beefed up ST in the vicinity that saw this and came to 'disuade' the CorSec captain. That would be the best immersive element I've seen since launch!
I'd take a death from the CorSec guy just to see the ST put him in his place too. The insurance cost would be more then worth it!

Well, how about this scenario?

A smuggler who is an Imperial Colonel (Major, Lieutenant, whatever...) gets stopped for a contraband search. There are two mods in place: The Imperial Faction mod which reduces the chance of a search taking place ("Sorry sir, didn't recognize you") and then the Smuggler mod which further decreases the chance of the Imperial getting caught with contraband.

In addition to thecurrent fines, there could be a penalty scale associated with rank

Colonel - loss of two ranks (demoted to Major) and loss of 500 FP

LT Colonel - loss of two ranks (demoted to Captain) and loss of500 FP

Major - loss of two ranks (demoted to 1st Lieutenant) and loss of400 FP

1st LT - loss of two ranks (demoted to WO1) and loss of400 FP

2nd LT - loss oftwo rank (demoted to WO2) and loss of400 FP

WO1 - loss of 1 rank (demoted to WO2) and loss of300 FP

WO2 - loss of 1 rank (demoted to Master Sergeant) and loss of 300 FP

Master Sergeant - loss of 1 rank (demoted to Staff Sergeant ) and loss of 200 FP

Staff Sergeant - loss of 1 rank (demoted to Staff Corporal ) and loss of 200 FP

Staff Corporal - loss of 1 rank (demoted to Corporal) and loss of 200 FP

Corporal - loss of 1 rank (demoted to Lance Corporal) and loss of 200 FP

Lance Corporal - loss of 1 rank (demoted to Private) and loss of 100 FP

Private - loss of 100 FP

Obviously, these are just a proposal...

I 100% agree with you, and I honestly think over 75% of Imperials feel the same way. We want to battle just like anyone else.

Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Editor's Note: The author of the above post has quit giving SOE her money. She suggests you do the same, because this game will never be what you want it to be.

The more of us that get in and test this the better, so please get onto the TC and start running by some nasty Imp NPCs

Be sure to post feedback here.

Guamarhea; "Well, how about this scenario?"

I happen to agree with this and have seen the idea go around a year or so ago.

Smuggling is the movement of goods to avoid import/export restrictions or tariffs.

Since the Empire is the 'government' and Imp officer that smuggles would be cheating his own employer. I would think an Imp officer especially a smuggler that gets caught would have severe punishment.

.......unless his smuggler skills pay off and he/she can bribe the scanning officer.
