firepower increased = good
now increase the number of patrols, put scanners in starports, increase the chances to be scanned and eliminate the imp. override and we'll be a little better off.
but on the whole... yay!

This one is GREAT
/agree, this patch adresses ALOT of issues that REALLY need to be addressed
Huzzah! My one hope is that now Mos Entha will not be the pile of ST corpses it currently is. It's such a joke to slog knee-deep through a mountain of dead stormies. Or, if the Devs are going to allow this, at least make it a mock battleground where the city, like Bestine, turns some sort of dominant faction with increased raids from whatever the dominant faction in power is. In Bestine's case, it's supposed to be more or less Sand People, etc.
Anyway, interesting, and hopefully good, news.

I had a probot do that to me on tat the other day. Out of nowhere on me. I did my usual thing run run. I aint going to pay I am neutral what do I have to lose. The thing slowed my down I got on my mount hit gallop and the thing was still on me. I evaded the scan but my god I was impressed. I used to just be able to run off and not deal with the risk at all.
Hopefully the increased firepower will let them decrease the stormies. In some npc cities they generate horrendous lag. If this would let them remove twenty or so stormies it would be wonderful,
The only problem is they are still too avoidable to be feared. If your paying attention its generally still too easy to avoid them.
I agree if the imperial officers started to feal their crackdown too like paying bigger faction point reductions and rank loss. Then that alone would make slices more interesting.

Now all they need to do is disable the Imperial way out.
In fact, *INCREASE* the penalty for an Imperial smacking a fellow officer.
You know, sense they can't be *Court Marshalled* in the game.
Plus, make the penalties for illegal goods something to be feared. I can see it now.
Uberd00d writes a CSR ticket:
D00DZ! IMPS CAM & STOLL MY DE10!!11!SHIFT1!!! GIV IT BAK1!!11!!!1!!!1!!!111111!!!1!11
CSR-Who-Actually-Knows-What-He's-Doing: I've just checked the logs, and your DE-10 was sliced, flagging it as Illegal by Imperial Authorties.
Uberd00d: butt i slappe tha gy an he incap me
CSR-Who-Actually-Knows-What-He's-Doing: Yes, if you will go re-read the patch notes, you will find that crackdown units will do this now.
Uberd00d: wht?
CSR-Who-Actually-Knows-What-He's-Doing: Crackdown units will no longer back off from superior officers, and contraband will now get confiscated.
Uberd00d: I WAN MY STUF!!!111!!!1!!
CSR-Who-Actually-Knows-What-He's-Doing: Perhaps you should have thought about that before you said, and I quote from the logs "heyy d00z!!1 im go punc tha stormie!!1!1" and avoided the crackdown unit instead. Please delete this ticket. Thank you.
Oh well, I can dream, can't I? :?
5-stars cuz u made me laugh

That's a great start! I'm still not affraid of stormies though... I couldn't take more than one down with the old firepower, but they didn't scare me.
MAKE ME FEAR THEM

Looks like they really mean it with this patch. According to TC reports, there seem to be a lot of 30-200K HAM STs with high armor/resists kicking Rebel ass. Thread's here:

Now if only they had something to mess with us Imperial criminals...

Good news!
Hey, Wes, can you see if you can drop a line in the C-Forum or some feedback about getting these Storm Troopers programed to patrol strategically?
Such as around the main exit/entrance ways of cities (think the big exit near the parking garage next to the Coronet Starport) and heavily travelled paths? Also, maybe up the scans?
Could help us out a little bit

I lose ALL respect for the Devs (not like I have that much respect for them anyway) if they reverse this like they did after having Nova Troopers for a day a while back.
Most upper-level players in the game have developed the mindset of "I can solo anything, and I should continue to be able to do that whenever I want to." It's time for SOMETHING to change that mindset.
If the devs cave and lower the level to that point, I'm seriously giving up. I've had old friends begging me to join them in EQ2 for a while now, and the Devs caving on this issue might be just enough to make me go...

And for all the Imperials that really believe we should turn the "Imperial Crackdown" into the "Imperial Smackdown", y'know maybe it is time to place 100-200k HAM high resist Rebel NPC spies in rebel sympathizing cities that can flip Imps overt in the blink of an eye in unfriendly territory to (I think that would be awesome and I'm Imperial, toss them in AH, Moenia, etc.); after all you are in the employ of an oppresive regime, doomed to fall btw, (hasn't yet though!)that has already made a great many enemies. If this *cough*"stuff"*cough* goes to Live, all my players will go to nuetral and only go Rebel to farm loot and kill STs occasionally.(Good, because that's the point; the Rebellion should only be for the bravest, craziest renegades in the Galaxy...just like being a Jedi should be really freakin' hard.)

Call me crazy, but I think the penalty should be pretty freaking steep for a member of the Imperial Army who breaks Imperial law by carrying spices and sliced weapons. Neutrals, Rebels who break the law, they're just citizens and crazy terrorists, right? The reason that laws exist. Sure if they get busted breaking the law, they'll be fined, attacked etc. Makes sense to me. But an Imperial soldier or officer who breaks the law? Their ass should be f'ing glass...
Imagine what would happen to a member of the US Armed Forces id they were caught in possession of illegal drugs? That'd be in a lot of trouble.
Imperials shouldn't just get a demotion, small fine, or... if they're higher ranking, jack crap, "I'm sorry I found your stash sir, carry on." Ohhhho no.
