But really the bottomline is if they only leave these 3 things to slice, everybody will put 50% into speed and 50% into damage.

That's certainly what I'll be doing....

you get a 100% customersation.

Order Total Bonus Customisation Rating
1 2% 5%
2 4% 15%
3 6% 30%
4 10% 50%

If you want tier 4 you need to spend 5%+15%+30%+50% = 100%. The totals don't add up so Teir 4 uses 100% customerisation and gives a 10% bonus. Well that's what I ready from mankind notes on the email on TC.

ah this makes sence, sometimes I'm such a noob

I guess what my question is that i have heard that weapons Post-CU with capped damage had their damage reduced when they got it sliced. Will the new system be the same way?

Although I like the idea of the critical hit mod, 3% chance is way too low.

Then again, us Smuggler types are gamblers and like to play the odds, right?

Basically we got a dumbed down version of what took them 2 years to do and nothing what they promised. Plus the low end %s of the CU are still there and makes little difference in the end result, now we just get bugged when wpns get jammed. Yay SOE. God this game sucks now.

Wes, any idea what happened to the slicing "mini-game" concept that was put out earlier this year? We were led to belive that this would be pretty close to the new slicing system...after bugs and stuff was worked out. By all accounts, the slicing on TC is not what was described in the now-strangely-missing-from-the-forums Smuggler Revamp concept description.

I know the post with the mini-game was not a promise, but it seems rather odd that this would disappear from the forums right before the new (and different) slicing went to TC. It is also disappointing that the slicing process on TC is not what was described...especially since we had no indication that slicing would be any different than what was described in the great "mini-game" descriptions.

It would be nice if you could get an explanation from SOE for us

I think it was a case that it was too like the crafting process of another game, but of course it could simply be that there wasn't enough time to fully develop the new system's mechanics aswell as include that mini-game on top of it. I'll ask if there was a reason behind it though, as a few people seem to want to know.

Exactly And 3% is what? One in every 33 shots? We'd be hitting at least one critical, possibly two, every minute of fighting. Just hope it's on a damage shot and not on concussion.

+root+
+critical+
42 damage

More than a few people, Wes. This whole new system reeks of something hastily thrown together. Hardly anything like having GM working on it for as long as they led us to believe he was.

And be honest... it's not great... not by a longshot. I can only pray that the new Smuggling part of our Revamp is a little bit more thought out than this was. If not, there really is no hope for us.

*edit* Damn typos...

Ok, so I have a very stupid/noobish question.Does this mean that the highest damage slice we can get is 8% now?

I don't think I'm ever getting anything sliced again Post Pub 19. I was on TC, sliced my Armor and a CDEF gun I made. When fighting a Desert Demon my Armor Chest Exploded and was unqeuiped. After the fight was over it had lost 7k of conditon and I had to fix it before I could use it agian. Fought another Desert Demon, Gun and Chest Exploded this time, they both went to 0 conditon. Aslo the reduce decay slice seems to be doing the oppsite. One hit from a DD 40 levels lower than me took off 3 points of conditon from my armor. That was before it exploded of course, and they armor and both reduce decay and decay chance slices.
