No star rating, but I will say that could be yet another grief tactic used by Player Associations.

Of course, a truly devious smuggler wouldn't just remove himself from the terminals. They'd replace their name on the bounty with the person who placed it.

Or do I just have a mean streak?

Great ideas...

These ideas just make me sad though. Some of them are so good on the boards and I tend to doubt we'll ever see any of the really good ones.

I'm in a glass half empty mood today.

Let the one stars begin!

Good idea about having several players request the mark. But to take it further I think you would at least have to have a method in place that recorded the guilds the players were from. Somehow to prevent a single guild from targeting someone.

Agree 100% on how this could be a problem.

Actually rather than the bribery system what should occur should be an e-mail sent to the target of the bounty. This e-mail would alert them that someone has placed a bounty upon them. They would then recieve the option to make payment at the nearest BH terminal. Jedi would be excluded from this. After a bounty has been placed on a player, no bounties can be placed on them for a period of 14 days. This is to avoid griefing of multiple bounties on the same person within a very short period of time.

Remember the good old days between A New Hope and Empire when there were like...2 Jedis in the Galaxy? Those were the days.

So your strictly a movie person, well hate to tell ya, but Creature handlers should go, Teras Kasi should go, fencers, swordsman, pikemen should go, never heard or saw a slicer in any movie, so they are out (smugglers are just illegal goods delivery boys), Bio Engineers? keep dreaming, Image Designers, yeah right keep walking, Rangers gotta go.

Wow look how fun the game can be try to stick with movies, oh not to mention if we have too many of one profession then those go away for future players (We dont want to contradiccte the movies)

Oh you didnt think Jedi was the only problem when sticking to movies, or you just suffering from LES (Lightsaber Envy Syndrome)

OR

Maybe just maybe this is a game based in the Star Wars universe and it doesnt have to adhere to connon 100% for the sake of the player base, you know just a thought.

Fact is you can make an MMOPRG that sticks to Movie or even EU cannon as there would be too many restricts to build a profitable player base, not to mention despite your obvious LES there are a great many fans that arefasinatedby the Jedi, I think if they just made Jedi PvE (Able to choose PvP instead of being forced to) and made it so they had to unequip robes/lightsaber in cities (Overt status when equipped in cities to ALL factions) the whole Jedi problem would decrease without having to penalize players for wanting to play Jedi, you cant have LES if you cant see the lightsaber.

Hate to burst your bubble but there where slicers in the movies. What was that line Han said "she may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts. I made a lot of "special" modifications myself" i.e. he sliced his engine parts.

Where does Han say he sliced the Engines, it is non-cannon jargon that defined this as slicing, please tell me where the tern slicing was used in the movies?

Sorry the phase "special" modifications myself" doesnt have the word slicing anywhere in it, and in all that post you claim I am wrong because of one element of the length of my post.

What about Creature handlers, Teras Kasi, Fencers, Swordsman, Pikemen, Bio Engineers,Image Designers,Rangers?

"special" modifications" invalidates the whole post, come on.

Look the fact is when it comes to Jedisome folks on this board (A small portion of the actual players) want strict movie adhereance to justify, griefing and nit picking on the Jedi class, it is LES not fact, Creature handlers, Teras Kasi, Fencers, Swordsman, Pikemen, Bio Engineers,Image Designers, and Rangers are not part of the movie cannon, period (And yes some elements of other professions such as Smugglers) but it only matters when speaking of Jedi and the "rarity" of Jedi does anyone seem to care, and it's not about limited exposure it is about defeating them at every turn. Every complaint about the population of Jedi almost execlusivlyhas in it "I hate seeing Jedi in starports" this is a visability issue not a population issue on my server I see Jedi in the starports alot, this is fact but here is the part that is left out the Jedi I see are the same ones over and over. I have seen only 6 Jedi on my server one in my guild the other 5 in the starports, THE SAME JEDI so in my observation there are 6 Jedi (I know this not to be true) so not knowing the other servers I dont know if this holds true across them all but I can say the Jedi I see in the starports I am not fond of, but I dont see a need to restrict Jedi in the PvP by nerfing and manipulating every tool a Jedi finds to save the huge XP loss, I see a need to restrict and not force Jedi or ANYONE into PvP when a simple solutionis present that can fix the visability issue. Have Jedi not be allowed to equip or if they do equip in a public place they become OVERT TO ALL, but why you say dont I call this forced PvP? Simple picking a profession is not acknowleging PvP if you have no choice but wearing robes and lightsaber when you could choose not to is choosing. The Jedi grinding in the wild is doing just that grinding, he is not challenging anyone to duel and the BH is the one who starts the fight, we know this. Equiping robes/lightsaber is a statement in a city of definance and challenge, they choose the class, and then they choose to put that class into a position to get attacked it is choice a PvP bounty system agaignst Jedi or any others that they cannot opt out of or act in accordance to prevent is FORCED. Under current visability Jedi as a Dev stated can gain visability for doing NOTHING, how is being logged in doing Nothing is choosing? but if you act in a way so as to make yourself noticed by many, wearing robes/lightsaber in public, you are acting activily to flaunt yourself and then that choice puts you in danger example:

Travel to Iraq and wear a T-shirt with an American flag, eating apple pie and telling the Iraqis that they need to soeak English. What could happen? what is likely?

now

Travel to Iraq and wear nothing that identifies you, and if asked you say your Canadian (Hiding who you are) and even so far as to be speaking in Arabic. Would you be viewed and treated differently? Would it be different then the other American flaunting himself? what is likely?

I think they would illicate very different reactions, who would you identify as American?

This is why the number of jedi is really unimportant, but the appearance is and appearance more then killing and making em feel miserable only ticks off players it does not solve that Jedi are visable, and most Jedi would not show off (though a few still will) if every player in the city can attack em for showing off as opposed to a BH and his group in the middle of nowhere. You see more and more Jedi in starports because the BH obsession with killing Jedi has made them not care about the single BH and his group as this obsession has lead to huge XP losses. City gang bangs would deter all but the most bold, stupid and not caring, but allow those Jedi who honestly try and remain hidden the reward of staying hidden as it stands now even thsoe careful ones are punished and now dont care so yes they show off cause they got ripped so bad with the broken hunts there is no need to remain careful anymore they dont care, there is no incentive to be careful anymore.

Allowing this on other players will make this a spiteful game, full of bullies taking revenge on everyone they can, cheap shots and misunderstandings will result in FORCED PvP over stupid and petty circumstances and should not be allowed on ANY player, PvP hunting is a vehicle for griefing, period there are few "good fights" it is largely picking easy targets and ganking them and I dont blame em, what moron picks a fight they can lose? I wouldnt if I take a fight and find out I cant win I will leave, it is pointless to throw yourself at a futile battle, so yet another reason against ANY forced PvP.

What are you getting so defensive about? I made a sarcastic remark regarding how now everyone and their cousins want to be jedi. No need to get so uptight.

Oh and by the way, the rancor at Jabbas had a handler.

Wasnt being defensive just pointing out the facts, and the handler, not sure I would call it a creature handler and nor did the movie, I can see where your coming from and indeed the professions are based on these observations, but the point I was trying to make is if someone is gonna post about Jedi being in the game is a bad thing and support this terror campaign about em and use the movies as a basis for this hatred then you gotta question why just the Jedi and not the other glaring inaccuracies with the game and the movies.

It's all cool man nothing to sweat over, I'm not I am just passsionate when I post that's all.
