A troll calling a non-troller a troll is still a troll. Seriously man if the truth of how and why the pre-req's are how they are hurts that much, don't post a pointless complaint thread like this one. If you seriously want to sell sliced weapons, hire a Smuggler.

Ignore that phoenix troll, he's to full of himself. If anyone get's banned it's him because he comes here and be an a** because he sees something he doesnt like, probebly a 5 year old loser that cries when something doesnt happen like he wants to.

Another trolling calling a non-troller a troll b/c the truth hurts. The only person(s) being bad in this thread are you and your cronie - although I'd go as far to say that is just your alternate account and at any rate - it really doesn't matter b/c I've reported both of them to a Moderator as well as sent a PM to Caylin. Who I'm sure would agree with me on what you are complaing about is the dumbest thing and reasoning to complain about ever - in a Smuggler Forum.

The sad state is ...

Our profession is broken...does next to nothing, certainly not smuggle.

When the profession is so poorly defined it's nearly imposable to pick pre-reqs that make sense for it. Perhaps after we see these vision Docs TH talked about it will be easier(although I already fully expect to see them for any profession BUT smuggler).

Until then, we can make opinions on what pre-reqs make sense for one vision of the profession or another but I dont think any of us would call our current state our ideal state ... things will hopefully change.

"like the pre-reqs or drop smuggler" is an asinine thing to say ... I mean come on ... there are PLENTY of GREAT reason not even like our profession let alone our pre-reqs. Discussing the worth of a pre-req which does next to nothing for us in a nearly completely busted profession is not whining. It would be next to impossable afterall to discuss our profession in it's current state without saying SOMETHING is useless or pointless or does nothing.

This is the smuggler board and the poster has a right to discuss his ideas on that profession and what may be a valuable short term solution to what he feels is a problem in that profession ... and don't we all agree we have a few problems?

If you like the pre-req fine say so, if you don't; fine, say so. But no need for the flame fest ... that's for the BH boards

Not really sure what soor is, but I'm pretty sure you meant sore. At any rate, the day that people who post truthful, non-harmful and intellectual posts on these forums is considered a "sore sight" is the day this MMORPG is dead and gone. But as it stands now, trollers like you and your alternate account there will just continue to get reported to moderators till they do the right thing and smack a temporary ban on your trolling accounts. On a side note, giving people star ratings really amounts to nothing.

It would help us allot if they would remove these skills as required for novice smuggler like they did for the BH proffession, they will be most likely removed in the combat revamp anyway.

What do you think?

I disagree, just add specials in dirty fighting.

BH had to master both Scout and Marksman ... (8 trees) .... Smuggler, 2. Your proposal would make Smuggler only need 1 tree and would be too easy.

Smuggler should also know about hand-to-hand combat ... incase something unexpected happens.

/agree with Geevo

Plus, what about all of the triple masters?

Most of the proffessions only need one tree and most of them are allot more usefull then smuggler is now, how would you feel if they added 2 tree's as a pre-req for pistoleer?

That would stink, but it would be highly illogical. I feel that if smuggler was given some unarmed dirty fighting moves, it would justify the unarmed pre-req.

I know the original poster already modified his post and I'm coming in late (again) but...

I enjoyed leveling unarmed for smuggler as much as pistol. I think it makes a lot of sense to the profession from both an RP and practical perspective. I believe unique melee specials added to the DF line would be a huge asset.

For those that believe even novice brawler skills aren't very useful, keep in mind that whether in PvE or PvP, states are often the key to staying on your feet and out of the clone center. Every melee state attack that a TK can execute (aside from dizzy) is gained in the brawler tree.

If the community is truly interested in player bounties, having a solid melee base will be the best offense and defense against a BH.

Yeah that would make sense, but with the low ammount of melee defense smuggler have they shouldent get close to anything. ( i dont wear 90% armor, i like ST armor)

And be honest, howlong do you think it will take for them to give smugglers unarmed specials?

First the art team has ALLOT of work creating the animations of these specials and make sure they work for all species, then the code has to be written into the TC database so it can be testing wich is allot of work, then after allot of testing it has to be written into the live servers again and hope everything goes as planned. And then they also have to give smugglers unarmed speed modds, accuracy mods, a melee weapon cert, unarmed toughness and more melee defense.

Melee fighting has never been a part of smuggler in the game, and as for myself i wont see that happen in the future either, especially not with the delay for switching weapons.

I didnt mind lvling it myself either, but i disagree on the part where brawlerskills will give you an advantage in pve or pvp. I can already stun my targets with the Last Ditch attack and dizzy doesnt do anything on creatures, also the unarmed specials without the speed mods from tka are useless because the delay on them is just way to long.

No offense but I completely disagree with your idea of having artisan skills needed for smuggler. Although this is for selfish reasons i think the reason you want the artisan skill tree is even more selfish... considering it would be hurting most smugglers out there.

NM what i said, i tought smugglers would like the idea of not wasting 29 SP on brawler, i know all the AS and WS that are smuggler hate the fact that they have to use a ****load of SP in order to slice their own things.

Have fun waiting on the smuggler revamp you been waiting for howlong?3-4 months? And it's stil no where in sight of happening anytime soon.

Sounds like you had an alternate agenda for getting unarmed removed from your edited comments....

All the more reason to keep is as a prerequisite.

As for Armorsmiths and Weaponsmiths pissed because they have to use sooo many skill points to slice their whole things.... That's the whole idea. You're not supposed to be self-sufficient. That's why there are people like Master Smugglers who do work for Master Weaponsmiths/Armormiths.
