there are already legal precedence in place. and they are not on the playerbase's side.
this is how MMORPG's work. they are constantly evolving, changing, being broken, being fixed (i hope), and that's the understanding that needs to be in mind when purchasing the game. the little message that reads "warning, content may change over time" is the only back door they need. people have already tried to sue game companies, with very little effect.
i don't quite get the complaint of the post. i mean, WE'RE not delayed again. we're still ambiguously after the JTL release. Of course we weren't mentioned, not every publish and chat and every announcement involves us. no one should have expected to be involved in this announcement, it was obviously not smuggler related. it sucks to wait, but this just seems like beating the dead horse...again.

I'm 100K of pistol XP away from master smuggler. After reading this entire thread... I'm thinking... what's the use. Can smuggler be that much fun as many people as there are unsatisfied with it?
Devs to us = /panicshot; /lowblow?
I don't really know what to do... I thought I was grinding an elite profession. From the way u guys talk... sounds like a crap profession.

you either are a smuggler, or ya aren't
you either have the mindset to enjoy it and make the best of it in light of it's faults, or you dont have what it takes.
a lot of us old timers who went out and got our locked containers the old fashioned way, grinded up without buffs, payed our early dues, etc; are smuggler because we enjoy it, it's a badge of honor we wear proudly. some people have had enough of the false promises and mistakes of the devs ( i wont say they lied, that's very harsh and narrow minded, i'll give them the benefit of the doubt they overreached or made serious mistakes) and move on to other professions or quit the game.
smuggler can be a very fun class, we have attitude, a handful of nasty tricks, and better stories to tell then any other profession. but if you don't got what it takes, you'll only leave frustrated and bitter.

Keep Going. Smuggler is DEFINETLY not crap BUT it is nowhere close to what it could be. That's no reason toavoid master though. This is a good profession and an AWESOME community. Enjoy what we got but fight for what we should be.

An act of God. Force Majeure, for Sengis' legal eagle buddies.
C'mon...its about money. JTL will make them money, hence, JTL is the priority. The DEVS have no say in this. The Company has the say. Its the DEVS' bosses that call this shot.

Im glad priorities was brought up, because thats the whole problem w/ these DEV's/SOE....why perfect JEDI 1st?....mathematically does it make sense to perfect the profession w/ the LEAST AMOUNT OF PLAYERS???....and thats just ONE instance/example of how SOE's/Dev's/Anyone who makes decsions about this game are totally messed up and devoid of common sense/sense of welfare for the majority of SWG's players

Sengis wrote:LISTEN WHERE'S OUR LEGAL POSITION ON PAYING FoR A BROKEN PIECE OF **edit** GAMEI reckon i'd get a judge to play this **edit** and we would win the case in a month of his playing, what do you reckon? If we get enough of us and class action their asses, they can be made to pay, and pay they will Cos im pretrty much ready to kick off now.Im in discussion with my old law school buddies right now if anyone is intersted in joining a class suit for wasted time so forth pm me now. Even if theres a few hundred of us imagine the negative publicity. I have mates in the press. All we need to do is raise a few hundred, and i reckon it will be more like a few thousand of us. Sony think they can take the mickey because the majority of players are kids or fat ass lazy gamers who have no concept of the law and would be scared by all the disclaimers and so forth within the packaging and on signing up. Well i got news for you guys, they can disclaim away but if they are knowingly selling us **edit** that is broken, they do not have a leg to stand on. And all the 'may be different' crap they stick in in the world wont help them if a few hundred of us sue their assess.
Our legal position is stated everytime you log into the game, Sengis. That agreement that you agree to prevents us from doing anything.
I know you are upset. But don't waste your time, your friend's time, or our time on this Lawsuit stuff. And don't spend a penny on it. It would get laughed out of court so quickly...
Waisted time? C'mon. Its your time, you can do with it what you wish. If the game sucks, don't play it. And don't spend your money on it. Yeah, you already bought the product. CAVEAT EMPTOR. I can't sue a movie company for making a crappy movie, and wasting my time. I chose to spend my time with that movie. The concept of it being a WASTE is a value that I APPLIED to that experience, not the definition of the experience.
I'm not ragging on you, Sengis. I'm just trying to let you know that this is a fight that can't be won. I'm all for the underdog, and for doing what's right, but this isn't a fight to fight.

How terribly narrowminded of you Astrus. Have you no self-respect? There is NO basis to think that "whiners get the respect" in this game or in any situation. I will agree that whiners get attention, but definately NOT respect.
If you call the recent BH change a revamp, then I don't want one. That is not a revamp, it's a once only change. What we will be getting is much farther reaching then that, I would hope that you have read enough of the proposals around to know this.
They are not going to make drastic changes before JTL we've known this for months. Neither did they truly "delay us again" they always maintained fro mthe last setback that it would be sometime after JTL, which by no means confers that they ever intended us to be anywhere except soem unforseen time in the future.
And don't you dare criticize Caylin for his efforts on our part. You do not know the vast amounts of work he has done in the Corr forums on our behalf. Some would say
he is doing more then he should since he argues on our behalf far more then he does on the devs behalf. Remember the correspondent is to be a middle-man equally representing bothsides. Because he is choosing the right fights to fight doesn't mean that he is being complacent.
If you want to go join the whiners, you go ahead and do it. The rest of us who attempt to be productive and can take these setbacks with a grain of salt will continue to make our prefession better AND be able to hold our heads up high. I will keep the respect our community has earned intact and carry it with me through all of the upcoming changes.

Look, im not saying people cannot play the profession as is without being fun.
But the simple fact of the matter is, as long as a Smuggler has no actualrole in this game for "smuggling" anything, the profession is just plane BROKE!
Slicing isnt smuggling. Nor is creating and selling drugs smuggling. Feign death....where theheckdid they come up with as whata smuggler should do?
What good is the Bounty Hunter profession if they did not have bounty's?
What good is a Droid Engineer if there wasnt any Droids to make?
What the heck is a Smuggler profession without Smuggling missions?
Smugglers have gotten the short end of the stick from the beginning in terms of development resources all during Beta, and now they are saying that we are going to see NOTHING until 2 friggin years after release.
Not even a date to where they CAN take a look at us.
Do I have a choice on having to put up with this? No I donot.
But I am making it clear that I am NOT happy with how they have been jacking us around.

JediArashi; "will continue to make our prefession better "
Ummm...really like Smuggler has been made "better" since release? Like how? Have I missed something?
If you're going to "continute to make" it better you'd have already had to HAVE made it better...which you haven't.
Honestly if you don't see this latest as a CONTINUATION of the trend that is already WELL established...that is a perpetualy delayed Smuggler Revamp...then I'd point out your tightly shut eyes. Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil? Sorry, doesn't work for me.
