At least Smugglers got promised a revamp, lol. Tailors didnt even get that. Their responce to NJ's request for morecolor pallets or a single universal pallet for everything, was 'we have a big surprise for you coming soon' That was back in December. I wonder if the surprise was was the Wookie Armor components or the reward schematics..even if so, those arent what we asked for. Anyway, tailors are needing love too

And you're surprised by this?

Hopefully they archived the few threads that GM started so we don't have to

repeat all that

In any case....Caylin...any chance of you starting up threads about the other

7 or 8 topics that GM originally suggested. Sure, we don't have a design doc

to scream over, but maybe we can work things out and have them consolidated

in 7 or 8 threads for when/if the devs come knocking again.

It's not as if we were forgotten, they just pushed us further back in the theoretical line that exists post-JTL.
So, just think of it as another delay.

Not to get offensive, Caylin... but for the love of God, stop parrotting the same thing over and over. We know we're not going to see anything until after JTL. We know we're not going to see anything until after Publish 11. It doesn't make a lot of any less outraged.

Unless "combat balance" is a blanket term for fixing all the professions, we're stuck in limbo. And this, from the Stratics interview, is an absolute, bald-faced lie:

Runesabre - GreenMarine (internal SWG designer) is leading up the charge with the Smuggler Revamp. He is currently taking a lot of feedback from the players from the Smuggler Forums as well as presenting a lot of "In Concept" ideas on the Smuggler Forum. I highly encourage you to visit the Smuggler Forum and be involved with the exciting proposed changes coming!

He's currently doing crap for us. They've got him chained to JTL. They're not even trying to hide the fact at this point. We may be on GreenMarine's 'To Do' list, but we're definitely not on his radar.

NOTHING

I tell you this is really getting to be BS.

They have promised a revamp and then forgotten these promisses so many times I cannot believe it!

This profession has been screwed all along Beta and now for over 2 years in live!

There is NO EXCUSE for this TH!

None whatsoever!

Weighs Smuggler Revamp on one hand and the Stopping of the Holo Grind on the other...

hmmmm.... stop the grind.

Weights CM combat Gods on one hand and the Smuggler Revamp on the other ......

hmmmm... stop the CMs

There are a couple of points I want to make.

While I want a smuggler revamp, there are bigger annoyances in the game that need to go. In addition, I do not play every profession ao I am unaware of things that may be totally broken and need attention right now.

There have been a lot of suggestions for smugglers. All of them can't be added. Some of them have to be evaluated to see how they will effect the game and the answer may not be really obvious. Far less obvious then such things like CM DOTpoisons needs a fix.

The scope of the changes we're asking for is unknown to us. For example, some of the proposed changes with slicing may require an change to the structure to the database for armor and weapons having an effect on how Weapon and Armor Smiths craft. This may also effect data structure for cloths which may affect how tailors and artisans craft them. Since clothing, weapons and armor are also loot items then the loot generation system may also have to be changed. In addition every weapon, peice of clothing and armor already in existance would have to have to be updated. This is all speculation of course since I don't have the source code. It just illustrates how a change in one profession could send ripples out affecting other portions of the game.

There are other issues that require immediate attention. Every new feature added has the potential to open up security holes and bugs in ways you've never dreamed of. Most of these are fixed without you even knowing about them and may require priority attention that may pull people off other projects. You never know about these bugs and exploits because sometimes they are fixed within hours of discovery by a discreet patch ( /cheer devs ).

Dispite my grips, after a year of playing I still have fun.

They can find some way to get more people to register for money before they fix stuff for the ones already paying. Oh well.

I don't like repeating myself either, but if people aren't understanding that they wont get a date, they wont get an answer OTHER than that, then it stands to reason that I have to keep telling them that, now doesn't it?

I made the mistake of renewing my acct when I heard that we were going to be in Publish 11. Well, time to cancel again and this time for good, I rather doubt I'll be back. Fool me once shame on you SOE, fool me twice shame on me.

I feel bad for you correspondent's, i mean you guys/girls are just players like the rest of us. what i can't understand is how you can not be as dissapointed with these devs as so many of us old time players are after paying forover a year for a broken product, and constanly beinglied to.

LISTEN WHERE'S OUR LEGAL POSITION ON PAYING FoR A BROKEN PIECE OF **edit** GAME

I reckon i'd get a judge to play this **edit** and we would win the case in a month of his playing, what do you reckon?

If we get enough of us and class action their asses, they can be made to pay, and pay they will Cos im pretrty much ready to kick off now.

Im in discussion with my old law school buddies right now if anyone is intersted in joining a class suit for wasted time so forthpm me now. Even if theres a few hundred of us imagine the negative publicity. I have mates in the press. All we need to do is raise a few hundred, and i reckon it will be more like a few thousand of us. Sony think they can take themickey because the majority of players are kids or fat ass lazy gamers who have no concept of the law and would be scared by all the disclaimers and so forth within the packaging and on signing up. Well i got news for you guys, they can disclaim away but if they are knowingly selling us **edit** that is broken, they do not have a leg to stand on. And all the 'may be different' crap they stick in in the world wont help them if a few hundred of us sue their assess.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

What would that accomplish? Would it get the game, including smuggler, fixed any time sooner? No. Would it cause SOE and the devs a headache ultimately distracting from and causing even more delay to their work.
