moving the Smuggler requirement to Slicing IV is a good thing.

As was said, the proposed prereq changes allow for the soloing of a bases, which is not acceptable. Although I have some issues with the other proposed methods of balancing this (like BH Master), the most important thing is that this kind of combat remain a task only to be undertaken by a team. Personally, I think the Smuggler skill requirement being moved to Slicing IV is a great idea.

I also agree. Slicing a base terminal should require, at the least, Slicing IV. It's like hacking into a military system, no novice hacker can do it. You need to be very skilled!

Personally, I don't see a problem with things as they stand. Look at the build a character needs to be a base-soloist; they'd be pathetic at all their professions. If someone wants to be nothing but that, I don't mind that much...

On the other hand, I'm not strongly opposed to the change either. So don't mind me :-)

I think MBH and MCommando are a little tough- but I guess a base IS supposed to be tough to take so count me in too.

I have to disagree with the change as it stands.

I like the slicing 4 requirement (someone said before, you're hacking into a military computer).

However, would someone with all the pre-reqs be good at anything? They'd get slaughtered by the base defense.

What about adding more professions to the requirements? A DE and WS could easily be added.

People make demolitionist bots... which made this an issue.

I understand the why of this and I agree but I can't help but think that there goes one more thing for novices to do.

At that point, they can grind terminals instead of just containers... so they are ok as far as XP...

With a hopefuly slicing revamp to the terminal system, I'm not too concerned. Base takes arent THAT common.

This is the part that I feels would affect us. I happen to be WHOLEHEARTEDLY agreed to this change to the smuggler requirement.

We do not have any developer feedback at this point, but this is something we need to address. I personally see that raising these requirements is vital, but I don't want to represent this, or push for this, without running it by all of you first.

It wouldn't be right for me to abuse my powers in that fashion, so to speak.

What I need are your thoughts and impressions on a change of this nature?

I had thought that slicing IV was alreadythe pre-requisite! yes, get it changed, asap!

As for the fact that they will change requirements for professions, what do you think this holds for Smuggler come our revamp?

P.S. when will the BH requirements changes be going live?

While i agree that these changes would be good for the game you can still have people (like me) with the potential to do multiple parts of the takedown.

Why not look at it from a different perspective, once you have done one part of the base takedown you can't undertake any other parts, so you will need 5 people one of each of the 5 professions minimum to take out a base?
