I think it would be great if these rumors are true, and I for one hope that big GL does take the reigns and write/direct 7,8, and 9. Guess I'm the only one, but I thought episodes 1 and 2 were quite good, if taken for what they are, (and the origional trilogy as well) a cool sci fi action movie with weird and clever plot twists.

If there is a TV series, I do hope GL gives up the ship and lets someone else take over. My vote would be Joss Whedon, as I personally think he has done some of the best TV in my lifeframe, and unfortunately, I guess he is unemployed right now. Oh, yeah, and because Firefly wasmy favoritesci fi on screen since the origional Star Wars trilogy.

Whedon is far from unemployed. He's currently making the Firefly feature fillm, Serenity, and there are several rumours abound of buffy/angel movies, and spinoffs.

He's also been rumoured to be in line to replace Bryan Singer for X-Men 3... Considering he is alsocurrenty writing the Astonishing X-Men comic for Marvel, and doing damn well too, Im really hoping that one is true.

Funny, that's completely contradictory to everything Lucas said while making Episode 1. I guess by saying he didn't want to make Episodes 7, 8 and 9 he really meant that he wanted to alienate more fans than he has already. /sigh

did you even listen to the mpg? even though the TV series is a possibility in the future, all the references to 7,8, and 9 were just Mark Hamill reminicing about conversations he had with GL in 78, thats hardly proof that they are going to be made.

I'm hesitant to believe and worried of what the result would be if it did happen. Sometimes TV shows work...sometimes not.

NO ONE MENTION THE HOLIDAY SPECIAL AGAIN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!! Please let's just pretend that never happened...

To me it just seems the more added to the originals the worse it gets. But part of me still hopes...

Despite all the hoopla Mark Hamill's recent comments have caused, George Lucas is assuring MTV (http://www.mtv.com) that "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" will be the last "Star Wars" movie.

"This was never planned as a nine-episode work," Lucas said. "The media [pounced when] I made an offhand comment, 'It might be fun to come back when everyone's 80 and do another one of these.' But I never had any intention of doing that."

The original 'Star Wars' was only three films, and that was what it was meant to be," he said. "After a lot of pondering and thought, I went back to do the back story, but that pretty much tells the story. Episode six is the end. There isn't any more to it."

Meanwhile, Lucas hinted as well that "Revenge of the Sith" may not receive the family friendly PG rating the other "Star Wars" films have received. And you know, it's pretty dark," he continues. "It's pretty intense. I'm not sure this one is going to end up a PG like the others were."

Ok, if "The original 'Star Wars' was only three films, and that was what it was meant to be," then why was the first Star Wars titled "Episode IV"? That statement is total bull. I just watched "Star Wars: Empire of Dreams" last night in A&E. In interviews with Lucas, he stated he originally had 9 films in mind, in fact he'd arranged everything when he was setting up to do the first one that he would be able to do sequels, possibly 12 films in all. In other interviews, he'd said there were to be 9, but the story after "Return of the Jedi" has been adequately filled with the various books, etc.

Bottom line no one know for sure, Lucas swore up and down for yearsthat 1, 2 and 3 would not be made.......
