If they want to stop dabblers taking the mickey out of a good smuggler skill, move it to aster end of story.
Yeah move it to Master. Why punish non BH and Jedi? It's ovbvious whatever the change means that it was done because of that. Moving it to Master will stop 90% if not more of the Paddy's and BH's from having the skill.

This will bring FD more in line with what it is supposed to do. With this change, it will be possible to evade a DB in a large fight where a person wouldn't be triple incapped because of the chaos.
In a more private fight like a bounty fight, this will ensure a vigilant enemy will not be fooled by FD.
It would be interesting to see what is up.

I wish that part were true unfortunatly in my experience it isn't. Even in a 20 on 20 fight, if I FD,I will have at least 1 guy who sits there trying to black bar meno matter what is going on around them. He could have a Kimo standing on his head and he would still be trying to black bar me.
Too many griefers in this game that get off on ticking others off.

The damned skill is already nerfed to Hell in PvE. You can FD on a Tusken Executioner and have 5 of your buddies nailing him....soon as you /stand then he reaggros on you and ignores your buds for at least one hit. And God help you if you're solo and you FD on something.
Now if it's nerfed in PvP where it's possible to receive a deathblow or triple incap...then what's the use of the skill? Just kill it and /remove it from the frackin' tree.
I'm so sick and frackin' tired of us biting the bullet for other professions' problems without us receiving fair compensation. It's totally unfair and that's not an arguable point.
If they increase Chef/Doc buffs which totally outweigh Spices, they should have bumped Spices up then to balance it. If they're going to drive an already half-working special into the ground, give us something else to use. And I don't even know about Panic Shot...that tier 2 hybrid profession skill was brought in line with a Novice profession's NOVICE box skill, not to mention that that skill, Warcry, was already a prerequisite for the damn hybrid profession that you're nerfing!
This better turn out as a very misunderstood patch note that makes the skill usefull in PvP (which is should be retooled or replaced anyway) and in PvE. If not, I will be one very irate community member with a near 4.2 star rating that may drop very quickly.

Thank you, looking forward to more clarification. Gonna be real pissed though if we got nerfed because of Jedi. Makes it tough to sell faction without being buffed now... thank goodness they removed that artificial cap.
Head onto TC and you may be surprised. Although I am not a smuggler I tested a few things out for you
You can buy fp when set to combatant status. You can also get bases/ST armour/Faction pets, etc, and transfer fp to other players when you are a combatant.
A Combatant can NEVER be attacked by other players. Only Special Forces can be attacked in this way.
It takes 5 min to go 'on leave' from combatant status. This means that after you have completed your sale you can go on leave and not even have to worry about PvE factional enemies.
And... here is the best part... you will NEVER be attacked by other players unless you are prepared to die. Combatants can kill enemy PvE troops and not get a tef to players. You can wear factional armour. You can even place bases and use an AT-ST without being attacked by players. If you choose to go Special Forces and PvP you should accept that you will die, and not have to rely on FD as a 'get out of jail free card' from PvP enemies.
For the record... FD works fine with all PvE enemies.
but i like it being a get out of jail free card i like that smuggkers can do 1 thing that other proffesions cannot even approximate.

i fear we may be over speculating. and we all know responses from devs can take a while even when it's a critical issue. so let's not read too much into this until we get a real answer. otherwise we're just creating more stress in our minds.
if the change is bad, we'll have plenty of anger to toss around.
if the change is good or not really a big deal, some people are gunna fel bad for jumping the gun and some things might be said that cant be taken back.

The problem is, every proffession needs balance in PvE and PvP (ignore Jedi for now
PvE: Other proffs have high damaging specials with high accuracy and high speed. You have no accuracy or speed, but can feign death to keep you alive longer. If you choose to augment your skills and get other combat proffessions, you will rarely (if ever) use FD in PvE. That is balance.
Current GCW: Smugglers are a part of the GCW. They are important for helping change your standing with both the empire and the rebellion. They are adequately equipped for PvE combat, but not PvP. The problem is, there are tefs which create unwanted pvp, and you need to be overt for certain transactions. If you are attacked during these times of unwanted pvp, you can feign death. This is a poor attempt at balance forced upon everyone due to the GCW inadequecies.
New GCW: You need never go overt. You can complete all transactions and never get unwanted pvp attention. If you CHOOSE to pvp and incap the other proffession, you can kill them. If they come close to killing you, you feign death and other proffessions can not counter it. You have a god mode that other players can never attain (not even Jedi Knights). You have the ability to enter combat and then feign. It means other players can not shuttle away as they are stuck on combat. It removes any fun from the game for other players. It means that you can kill, but never be killed. This is not balanced. If you choose to pvp the other player should have SOME chance at being able to kill you.

Bah... shame on me
I am so used to the old way that I didn't think about the new tef changes coming. Glad to see how your experience went with it though. Makes it a lot more clear. Thanks for the reminder ![]()
Just gotta pull myself off live long enough to go check this stuff out for myself though hehe

Not even the CURB has an idea where FD is going.
That frightens me more than *anything* else going on in the game.
Wouldnt that mean that they are still creating content without thinking globally? How can you test CURB w/o all fighting specials in place?! The result would be as flawed as the original!
*grumble*
