So... what exactly do they mean by this? Wes? Caylin? Any ideas?

Optimistically?

The ability for players to attack a Feigned smuggler was a bug where the Incapacitation state was not in effect. NPCs never broke this as the act of Feigning ended their attack on you (not the combat state, just you selected as target.) Players could however choose to ignore this change and continue to attack the bugged incaped smuggler, yet still never DB (the one other part of FD working)

That's just my hope against hopes... Ideally this will lead to BH's and Jedi having their mission "complete" at incap, thus rendering the FD BH v Jedi grief and keeping this ours and ours alone.

Additionally, if FD is simply a "controlled incap" from now on, it would mean we are limited to 2 in 10 min- a fair price to pay in exchange for our intact HAMs, IMO.

Argh! Flashback to spice nerf!

Of course that wasn't even mentioned on a patch note, but we still don't know why!

Wonder if we'll find out about this one soon, or any time...

I can see this meaning a few things...

- If a person is FD they can now be incapped (leading to triple incap greifing) and DBed.

- If a person is FD they can now be incapped but not dbed (this could still end up being a way to triple incap greif).

- FDis the same as above but now you get an incap timer when youare out of HAM(since the timer is based on negetaive damage, if a person keeps hitting you, the negative damage will add up and make the incap timer longer, could see major griefing with this).

- FD now follows the rules in Incap where the person is unattackable once feigned. (Only thing you can do to a Incapped person is heal or DB, since FD prevents DB, this will just allow you not to be blackbarred. Please let this be true, down with black barring)

/optimistic

Perhpas they are making it to look like an incap, so when we get up we no longer are immediately argoed.

That may be a bit to much to expect for them to do, just because.

It is more than likely this is a fix to prevent the Jedi v. BH uses of Feign. If it means a Jedi can Feign, not lose XP and the BH still gets credit for the mission, or if a BH feigns he fails his mission, then this might be a good change.

To me it sounds like in PvP you will just be able to beat FDers HAM down until they incap, but in PVE since mobs dont attack people who are FD it will be the same. I think this has been needed for a LONG time, no one should be able to just press a button and avoid death totaly in PvP, especially if it requires that you KILL the FDer to complete a mission.

Make it so the Jedi loses XP like he does when a BH deathblows him now, just let Feign Death prevent the additional cloning loss, just as if he gets rezzed now. No farming or exploiting there, at least not any more than you can already do with a fully-templated knight who no longer cares about XP loss.

ditto An the devs silence on this matter is also worrying.

LEts face it the bh boards are full of whiners, the jedi boards are full of whiners, we try to act like gentlemen rogues that we are, and get diddley squat, its time to make some noise, adn stp taking this cr4p they throw at us.

If they want to stop dabblers taking the mickey out of a good smuggler skill, move it to aster end of story.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."
