The only reason there hasnt been an outcry for this yet is because people are still getting accustomed to the CU. Mark my words, when you see more and more riflemen pick up Msmuggler, and more and more concussive shot roots being thrown around the pvp battlefields, you'll hear the cries alot louder.
Assuming its not fixed by then ofcourse.

You have a lighsaber Avatar, and Jedi in your Sig (right at the top I might add), just posted another thread about nerfing concussive shot (well just got deleted, but it was there), and you say "don't use the Jedi argument". Well don't mind me if I laugh in your Jedi face.

So they fix it so you can no perma root someone even with 2 on 1 or 3 on 1 or whatever. So the BHs engage u with KD hit high special and instantly mez you (once its "fixed") and wait for KD timer to be up again and do it again until you are dead. Then will you be happy? Atleast when your rooted you can heal...
It has not been working as intended or the discription is wrong we all know that. It stated in the CU docs that smuggler was getting a mez. If they screw up the root without fixing the mez it becomes horribly broken. Stopping shot sucks, lasts about 20 secs and the reuse is horrid. Atleast concussion you can actually sort of crowd control (a melee).
I imagine you will be back here complaining again once its "fixed".

I say to fix the problem, why don't they just cut of jedis and bhs from being a smuggler at all. Sure you could call it screwing up the way the game is ment to be played, but at least smugglers could get all of their old moves back, jedi can't use fiegn death and bhs cant use last ditch. We get our powers back and they get their /i_win back.

I was on the wrong side of this root today. Im all for rooting, i need roots since i normally play a ranged person - this time i was a pikeman.
This root is awesome but it will get nerfed if nothing is done about it, take my word on that. How about fixing a food, a spice or a doc/cm cure that shortens a root (for pvp purpose) - that would keep this root intact for PvE and keep it from getting nerfed.

Simply put, why 'fix'/nerf/fix/take away one of our skills because it's especially useful while at the same time NOT fixing all of our other obviously broken skills?

Ok the jedi think's its over powered, i think its time to take time and reflex on what the "jedi" are saying about the smuggler abilities so far.
- Last ditch is too powerful nerf
- Concussion shot is too powerful nerf
I didnt recall any jedi complaining about feign death when they were using it but i guess thats a diferent issue i suppose being able to heal yourself for 1k damage every couple of seconds is fair and being able to go invisible is fair aswell not to mention how over-powered master defender is.
Jedi got the padawan trials, the village, and the FRS before it was removed for fixing guess what were smuggler and we have no content and still cant smuggle yet every single jedi wants to take away what little we have.

Jedi this, jedi that. Get it through your skull. I'm addressing this as a concern from the predator's view. I respecced to Msmuggler yesterday just to have this special, cause it is truely awesome. 40 second root and with that long a duration, you can reapply it the second it wears off.
So, since we're now "fellow" smugglers thanks to the respec, how about getting a special that is balanced to the rest of the game and other professions? This thing is gonna get nerfed, and nerfed hard once more people start noticing it.
I'm usually not one for inflammatory comments, but some of thehostility shown in some of the threads is truely pathetic and downright disturbing ![]()

Concussion Shot needs to be a 40-second mezz. If you honestly think a 40 second root that has a shortcooldown timer is balanced, you are flat out wrong. Improved Concussion Shot as it stands right now is /GodMode versus a melee MOB. It is supposed to be a mezz, not a root. You all know this, you just love the way it works right now, because it makes PvE a piece of cake. You can solo high level melee PvE creatures with impunity.
Stopping Shot is almost balanced for PvE (I think it needs an immunity timer). Concussion Shot isn't remotely balanced for PvE at the moment.
It's a wash. Actually, it isn't even that. We have no other way to stop the pain from ranged attacks as it is. Without this attack at all, we can still snare and kite reasonably well against most melee Mobs. As it stands there is no way to stop the incoming hail of fire from ranged attacksfrom ripping us to shreads. BH have mitigation and KD's, Carbines have KD's and great area damage to engage and destroy more than one enemy, Pistoleers can intimidate(in theory anyway) and usedisarming shot, Riflemen have reach and stealth, Melee profs have COB to cut the damage down. This needs to be a paralyze effect and function as advertised, plain and simple. We can easily pick up a root from pistols, and between rooting and snaring, keep most melee very off balance. Any template that includes Master Smuggler is going to be weaker on defense than one that does not. Having this attack work as it should is key to any hope Smugglers haveof dealing with multipleranged enemies.

The discussion is pointless we know its going to get changed. But just reducing the duration or increasing the cool down is wrong. being able to use a root on ONE MOB DOES NOT EQUAL CROWD CONTROL. If they make it like stopping shot its worthless in any kind of pve. Just like stopping shot is now its a PoS.
And concussion shot equals god mode? Sorry not with the crappy AI in this game. It makes it alot easier I agree, but many times it doesnt stop the gurks from beating me from50 meters away. If they are going to have any kind of real crowd control professions they can not balance pvp and pve the same way. WHEN they make it a mez people will still complain cuz I know ill do the same thing I posted earlier. Duel someone KD, highest damage shot, mez, wait for KD timer and do it again.
