Ok. Someone up there said we need to chill.
Let me say this.
I was just disappointed man. So very disappointed. Nothing we can do about it, but hey, worse comes to worse - I'll take a trip to the strip joint and get re-introduced to old friend Alcohol. I havent talked with him in over (1, 2, 3...) 4 hours.
LOL.
I think you take my point - theres other things one can do to pass the time.
On a side-note, I have a little bit of a rant I need to get off my chest. I was out grinding in space last night - Overt, cause I need FP in the worst way (only a Staff Sargent - need to get to Colonel fast) - Just grinding away, minding my own business in my little TIE Interceptor, when all of a sudden I'm not moving, and my rear sheilds and armor are gone, and I have an eject button on the screen.
When I eject, I can see that parked up my a$$ is some jackass in a Ryykyk Attack Ship. I guess he figured he'd be a nice guy and one-hit kill a single Imperial Ship to make himself feel like more of a man. I got a message to you fool, you wanna PvP in space? I'm your man, but you just gonna ride up behind someone and blast the sh!t outta them just because? That's not very polite man. And for the love of GOD, if you wanna participate in the GCW in space - then pick a bloody side - and attack me on alevel playing field.
OK, OK. I'm just mad cause that was one of the rudest things I've experienced in this game. So I submit to you all, be good PvPers and signal your intent to attack if you are an Ace Pilot taking on a teir3 fighter. That way, if I can't evade you, then thats my lack of abilities, not you just driving up my a$$ and pulling the trigger. Do I expect this to happen again i nthe future? Of course I do, some people are just a$$holes.

Alright. I'm good now. Thanks for listening.
this happened on which server? and who was the pilot who attacked you?
we'll have to make sure he knows not to mess with a Smuggler.
and one other thing... you were overt in space? in which sector? and he was Freelance and was able to attack you?
was he declared for the Rebs? i've always flown Freelance, but never participated in space PvP except once as a gunner on a YT-1300.
Freelance are able to go overt in space for either side right?
anyway... let's let this sucka know what he's dealing with.
As for the bloke's name, I couldnt get it fast enough - I tried to look in the logs - but I missed it.
It was on Corbantis, in Rebellion Blaze sector, Lok system.
It's publish 17.2, folks. Not 18.
As for the animations making it in already... well, exactly how much pressing work do you suppose the SWG animation staff has on their plates right now, as opposed to people that actually code?

As someone who plays on TC somewhat regularly, I honestly wasn't surprised that the patch notes didn't have smuggler... because I read them while the patch was downloading. I've mentioned this elsewhere, but as soon as I saw that the patch file was named "patch_sku_2_17.tre", I knew I wasn't going to see Smuggler in the list.

/agree Besides, how much work is it to put in something that they took out with the CU anyway?

Well, no news is good news... after the CU fiasco I expect that anything they do to us will be nerfing and dumbed down game mechanics.
The first "improvement" we'll see is a nerf to concussion. And why not, more negative slices. Heck, make ALL slices negative so thaty we won't have to worry about them.
I think it's time they just remove us from the game altogether. They talk about a slicing mini-game and I realize now they really mean an MBH/Jedi mega-game.
I dropped smuggler after having it for 6 months, screw the profession, Slicing is stupid now. I lost about 3 mil and a few days of time creating 10 different spices that were selling like hotcakes until the last nerf and now I've sold like 5 crates in the last week. Now I've got like 500 spice crates on a vendor that are fixing to expire that no one will EVER buy.
Smuggler is crap now, it serves no purpose, Devs say fixes are "coming" (translation: Look for it around christmas)

Okay, a couple of things.
First, I agree. Chill a bit. The notes I read said that Slicing was getting fixed with Publish 18, and what's on Test Center now doesn't strike me as a "publish" level event, more of a heavy Hot-Fix that takes out some of the bugs. Publish 18 seems to me to be still down the road a bit, and that was the "hard date" that was given out.
Disappointing? Yes. Long-time Smugglers have been waiting a long time, and deserve something for their patience. But I'm willing to wait for Pub 18, and if we don't have it then, I'll rip 'em from pillar to post.
Now, about Faction farming in space. Yeah, it was lame what the other pilot did to you, but if you're going to be at risk for attack by other players you need to get used to hitting your "Z" key, which is default mapped to target closest enemy player. Your TIE against that Ryykyk attack ship would have been no contest, leaving him to get repairs and take the decay from getting destroyed in "normal" space.

Ya, most of those bug fixes seemed very familiar. I think I read them somewhere in a fanfest post.
You know, I dont remember what pub it was (maybe 14 or 15) but they loaded a very early version of it onto TC then built it up while it was on TC. Instead of building it on internal, then slapping it in TC for a few days and shooting it to live. I kinda liked the building it on TC way. That way we get to see whats comming a little sooner (and make the necisary changes) and the TC folks get more testing time, which has to be good.
As long as they continue to build this publish with more patches before it goes to live, then I will be happy. If tomarow I find myself dl at the launchpad im going to be upset. Because it means Jedi got thier fix before (not at the same time) that we did. And I would say I would be peeved.
Ahh, yes. They will often do that when they are tweaking values. But basically all the code changes are in and regression testing has beendone (bug checking) by the time is hits TC. There are just tweaking variables at that point.

As for advance warning: You get that from the station where you went Overt. A player shouldn't need to send a tell and go "Excuse me, but would you mind if I beat the Everlasting Piss™ out of you? No thanks? Alright, have a good day."
Indeed. An Overt flag doesn't mean "Hi! I'm minding my own business.," it means "I'm out for blood! If you don't whack me, I'll whack you."

So, the Fan Fest stuff, 2/3 of the things mentioned were already finished and gathering dust in a box by the time Fan Fest rolled around.
