I do think we should all meet ingame and discuss prices and other ideas for smuggler issues. but if we can't meet up we should at least send an email with what we think should be the charge for a slice whether its based off of % of a set price like 10k or and incresing price list like 1-15% 3k 16-25% 6500, 26%-35% 10k. Let's get this moving and get some conrete prices started.

First off, I feel the hologrinding smugglers out there on all the servers are the biggest cause of problems in our line of work. These players who have mastered half a dozen classes prior to smuggler and only want to master the class as quick as possible so they can move on are truly bringing down our noble but occasionally immoral line of work. They are the ones who can slice for as low as 25 creds per % (yes, i've had to face spammers who have actually offered that price) with freer slices under 20%. I'm just a smuggler/scout trying to earn some cash and advance my trees and I have to compete with those prices! I've only got 12 grand to my name, yet these other players with hundreds of thousands of credits steal business away from me! It's quite frustrating!

Beware the flying pigs, for they defy reality!!!!

I am a marksman, artisan, scout, smuggler, pistoleer, and entertainer. Who needs those master class badges?

Hi, I am a new master smuggler on the intrepid server.. I believe that the OQ for tools has been added to some extent..I use 94% clamps, and 92% knives at this point and am getting at least 1 in 10 over 40% and on composite armor for some reason 2 to 3 over 40% per set.. Not every set of course but i'd say every 3rd set..

I do strongly agree with the price increase..i think 1k per slice is fair..

The fact that you're getting 1/10 or 2/9 slices over 40% on armor is evidence that it is pretty random I myself use 92% tools and still get the same kinda slices that I always have.

Also you're on Intrepid so I don't know your prices but I figure you mean 1k per percentage, not per slice.

My smuggler sister is not ready to come "above ground" yet. If you want to contact me over e mail in game as Cressida, I will pass on the information... or she can contact you when she is ready.

Hello,

I would like to get my name added to the list. Currently working on the pistol part or the smuggler tree

I also agree that the prices need to go up for slicing.

But it should be gradual.

Work the populace into it.

Start off with 500 creds/%

Then when they are accustomed to that increase it again.

Just my .02

Maybe we should take a que from Opec, and cut our "supply "of slicing to "stabalize" the price.

Cutting the slicing service in my opinion won't help really at all because of all the holo smugglers. I think the best course of action is to just start raising your prices. Basically in the same way that all the master docs did from the standard 6k to the now common 10k.

ok my 2 cents.... first off... any slice is a good slice as has been established. Second off, yes smugglers are extremely underpaid for the services they provide. We are seriously underappreciated. Is it fair that a 2k slice lets the person have a 100% profit increase? no. If u know about the other proffessions, its all about profit. Armorsmiths dont spend more than a hundred k's of credits to make comp, and sell them for mils. Same applies 2 weaponsmiths. If u calculate how much they charge, u would think they pay over 45cpu on their resources. Slicing is CRUCIAL to the game. PvP would be nothing without it. I say, YES MAKE A SMUGGLER UNION. Lets establish prices universaly through out the galaxie and stand by it. 10k per slice 2 me, and yes i am greedy, is still 2 low. Im greedy because everyone else in the game is. If u want to b greedy and want to pay 2k to sell ur stuff for an extra 50k ima charge u 30k. Think of us as the drug dealers of the galaxies... we slice and sell spice, we make everything nice so pay the price! IF everyone agrees to the change, then all those apposed 2 it will eventually get used to it. Its like the nyc subway system fair... every so often u raise it 50 cents... everyone cries and complains about it... 2 weeks later, everyone happily pays those extra 50 cents. put me down on dat list of urs

I have only been a master for a month now, but I agree fully on higher prices, I have been using a flat rate for a week now of 3500 per slice no matter the outcome. some thought it was high and other happly paid. One guy said he would shop around and get back to me when he did I doubled the price, im not walmart. Please add me to the list

Let me see if I understand the situation /evilgrin

Customers want sliced weapons and armor, both final customers and resellers (armorsmiths and weaponsmiths). The slicing is a permanent, one-time enhancement: it does not wear off in 10 minutes or 3 hours, there is no downer, its still there after 100 uses, and it can increase the weapons value by up to 50%. Customers also prefer to forego an ‘inferior’ slice so much so that Masters get flooded with tells for slicing while non-masters get very few requests. For this, the current rates on Flurry for some time have been 100 credit / percent or 2K flat rate. Now the general consensus among the smuggling community is that they raise the slicing fee to 10K credits per slice.

Hmmmmm….

If we do raise it to 10K, then that will cut out some of the ‘odd’ slices, such as CDEF weapons or Bone Armor from more newbie players. It seems that most players want either quantity slices or they have a higher end weapon or armor to get sliced. I think we’ll have two groups that will break our little cartel: non-Master Smugglers and Holo-smugglers. But, I don’t think that either will have much effect if the Masters keep firm on their commitment to not charging too low. The non-Masters may get more slicing business and the Holo-smugglers won’t stay around long enough to make any significant market change.

All that being said, I think 10K is a bit low for Master Smugglers. I’d advocate 1K credit / percent, especially for higher end items. Either way gives plenty of room for wiggle room in discounts for bulk orders, repeat customers, etc. without impacting the market too much.

I think a sliding Scale might be best

10 - 20% =5K

20 - 30 +10K

30% and up 15K

after time we could look at moving it higher
