Thread: Flurry Smugglers
I used to charge the 100% per slice. No longer.
I am so disillusioned with people’s response to our concerns with the Imperial crackdown that I no longer feel that slicing should be easy to get. The benefits for usingillegal modifiedweapons have to have somesort of cost. Since the Crackdown doesn't provide this disadvantage, I think the smugglers should provide it. I'm now charging 10k per slice. (discounts forbulk, i.e. 50k for a suit of armor)
I want players to be inconvenced for the benefit they receive from sliced weapons. Basically StGaberial convinced me that the player community needs to respect slicing more, rather than treating it as a commodity.

I recently started a second character on Flurry and am going for Master Smuggler with her. Right now she has slicing 4 and spice 4 and is looking at years of pistol xp before she hits master. ![]()
I didn't think anyone wanted a smuggler under master lvl to slice their stuff, so I have never offered. Do non masters actually get slicing business?
Cressida
We could discuss prices of spice, clamps, lasers, WUK's, AUK's ( for the ones of us that manufacture to sell ) and so forth. I personally am sick of crates of spice for 3k, but hell what can we do when our spices aren't worth to much to people...
Now onto listing Smugglers. I have compiled this list from what I have gathered in this post, I know the list will grow and grow, I'll try to keep it updated. If any of you know smugglers who aren't grinding, send me an email or post here and I'll add them to the list.

I quit wearing my tag long ago. I got sick of meeting people to slice their "weaponS", which many times would mean a whopping 2. It just wasn't worth it any more, making chump change like that, just started doing missions if I needed some extra cash. I have never spammed around a starport either because that would be a big RP breaker for me, so there wasn't much of a way to compete with all those spammers. And there is no way in hell I'm going to match their "anything under 20% free" guarantees. There were also a few ignorant/rude customers who really turned me off to slicing for the public, and I haven't looked back since. Another thing that bothered me was putting the title up and constantly getting tells for training. I don't mind training people, but if you can't bother to type out the word "thanks" it real pisses me off. Nothing like missing your shuttle to train someone and getting a "thx" as they run away. Maybe when the holo crap is over I can safely wear the tag again and start slicing with increased prices.
As for increasing the prices I'm all for it. I think I'll do that if I ever put the title back up. In case I get random requests I might start doing the 200 creds per % or maybe even 500. Then again I hate doing math, so maybe 10k per slice isn't too bad hehe. But rememer, there are always going to be those that go against the grain and think doing 10 times the amount of work to make the same profit that they could on one job is a sound business decision. Just look at spice, I always want to kill someone for selling crates of Muon for 3k...I hope none of you guys do hehe.

Not to be rude here... but you're getting off subject. How many times has what you said been stated in this post? And how many times in others... We all know this, and we all have our own opinions.
pls add me to your list on known masters.i have been one for 5-6 months now and have no intentions of untraining any time soon.ive been very fortunate not to have had to spend much time slicing o/s starports.if given a choice i would rather seea set fee per slice be set as apposed to a % based fee.also ive been selling fp for the last couple weeks and cant believe that the standard is 115-125cr per fp for the amount ofwork that is needed to sell fp.i think this is a step in the right direction to help our profession on flurry and would be willing to abide by whatever the collective group decides.
